New Delhi: Delhi University revised the eligibility criteria for the BA (Hons) Multimedia and Mass Communication programme on Friday, May 13, 2022. As per the latest notification, the merit will be calculated on the basis of CUET scores. The students will also have a choice regarding selection of a subject from 27 listed ones.
Earlier, it was compulsory for those who wanted to opt for Mass Communication course in Delhi University to give the Mass Media/ Mass Communication exam.
“It is hereby notified that Program-Specific Eligibility Criteria for B.A. (Hons.) Multimedia and Mass Communication has been changed to: Any one Language from List A + Any one subject from either List B1 or List B2 + Section III (General Test)”, as the new notification states.
The Second section, containing List B subjects, has been further divided into two parts- B1 and B2. B1 contains 18 subjects that were already on offer by DU and B2 contains 9 new subjects, introduced after CUET.
Additionally, the earlier eligibility criteria stated that the candidates need to secure 75% marks in the best of four, including 85% in English at the qualifying examination. The marks in plus 2 along with the marks received in the entrance exam were calculated for candidates opting for Delhi University Admission.
The changed eligibility criteria, as mentioned on Page 33 of the Undergraduate Bulletin of Information 2022-23, states the following:
“Candidates who wish to seek admission in BA (Hons) Multimedia and Mass Communication must choose the subjects/ test papers in CUET 2022 accordingly.”
CUET 2022 Application Closing Date:
The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2022 application process will be closed on May 22, 2022. So far, a total number of 9,81,406 applications have been received.
“In Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate admissions, as of May 11, total registrations are 9,81,406 and submitted applications are 7,39,027”, as stated by Jagadesh Kumar, Chairman, University Grants Commission (UGC).
Candidates seeking admissions to the UG Courses are advised to apply for CUET 2022 on the official website, i.e. cuet.samarth.ac.in.
DU Offline Exams 2022 Starts:
Despite, numbers of protests by many students against the offline exams for the May-June Semester, the offline exams have started to take place. As per the data shared by the university, the first day of the exam witnessed attendance of 98.3% students. 67,948 candidates appeared for the exams that were conducted in two separate sessions.
