December 19, 2021: Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad has recently launched a unique Creative and Cultural Business Program (CCBP) for creative entrepreneurs of cultural industries.
The IIM Ahmedabad's Creative and Cultural Business Program (CCBP) aims to offer various skills to interested students in the field of visual arts, creative services, design, entertainment, new media, performing arts among others.
The program is curated by the institute to fill the skill gap between talented artists and entrepreneurs in various creative and cultural fields, such as retail, traditional cultural expression, and publishing and print media, etc.
Referring to the initiative, Co-Chairman of CCBP, Aanchal said, “The program was originally conceived as a Crafting Luxury, and Lifestyle Business (CLLB), but was transformed into the Creative and Cultural Business Program (CCBP) in early 2019".
"The idea that the world is ready for Indian cultural goods, but we are not, as there was no globally recognized Indian brand in the creative sector that drove the program" she added.
Adding to the statement, the IIM Ahmedabad CCBP President, Amit Karna said that over 30 million artists are now working in the creative sector in India. However, there are multiple challenges that prevent the overall corporate investments and growth of corporations.
The IIM Ahmedabad CCBP 2022 will commence for a duration of 15 days for all registered participants. During the program commencement, each participant will have to build their respective business case under the guidance of their mentor.

The business case and final showcase model will be presented in front of the industry leaders. The program will also include various interactive classes, research, assignments, and online interaction among others.
Candidates who have registered for the program will be shortlisted based on their application form and will be further required to send a statement of purpose of 200 words during the interview round.
While talking about their experience, alumni of batch 2017, Marc Tormo, the CEO of Marc’s Coffees said, “The program provided me with various insightful experiences, from critical thinking, decision-making process and finances to understanding different perspectives"
"Peer learning was also one of the enablers and I continue to keep in touch with talented entrepreneurs from different fields" he further added.
