IIM Sambalpur organised Induction Ceremony for the New Academic Session 2020-22


IIM(Indian Institute of Management) Sambalpur has inaugurated the new academic session 2020-22. On the completion of the admissions to the MBA and PhD courses, the induction ceremony was organised in the virtual mode due to the Coronavirus lockdown across the country.

Induction Ceremony guests included Guru Prasad Mohapatra, IAS, Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) 

The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour and Keynote speaker, Prabhjeet Singh, President Uber India and South Asia along with Professor Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director of IIM Sambalpur etc, who addressed one and all at the inauguration ceremony organised at IIM Sambalpur.

Professor Atri Sengupta, Chairman inaugurated MBA courses while Professor Balamurugan Annamalai, Chairman PhD programme inaugurated  PGP and PhD courses of the institute. It was also added by the university about the 6th MBA batch containing gender and academic diversity comprising 168 students.

According to Prof. Jaiswal, IIM Sambalpur maintains diversity. Additionally, it has been stated that the university has the most diverse class profile in context of gender diversity with 40 percent female candidates.

 Besides this, students from the socio-economic class and diverse academic background along with rich industry experience represent more than 17 states or union territories in the country. It was further highlighted that the institute has made an increment with the total intake from 100 to 165.

Apart from this,72 percent candidates belong to the Engineering background while the remaining 28 percent are from other subject backgrounds. Prior to this, 60 percent of them have work experience in the industry and it was further ensured to inculcate best leadership qualities along with entrepreneurial minds in the candidates.
