MAHE Join Hands with Dalhousie University to Broaden Academic & Research Aspirations; Details Here


Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, has officially partnered with the Dalhousie University, Canada, to broaden the research and academic aspirations between Canada and India.

During the press statement, Vice-chancellor of MAHE, Lt Gen MD Venkatesh, said that MAHE and Dalhousie are collaborating together by signing an agreement of cooperation to widen the academic and research cooperation between both countries. 

He said that the inclusiveness and diversity inherent in Dalhousie's strategic plans lines up well with MAHE’s core values. 

According to a press statement, Dalhousie University houses world-class researchers who are mainly concentrated on the university’s strategic research clusters in primary areas from cultural and environmental determinants of health and wellness, research of the vaccine to social investigation. 

The Dalhousie University's perspective towards healthcare research is grounded in an understanding that the individual's health, people in the society, and communities are somehow interdependent and interconnected to each other, it said.

The Government has designated MAHE as the ‘Institution of Eminence’, as the institute excels in the discovery of drugs and delivery, healthy solutions to conditions including Diabetes and hypertension, Climate change, Artificial intelligence, Machine learning, Personalised medicine, Infectious diseases, and Energy. 

As per the press statement, the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) anticipates an immense potential in joint research and publications with several leading universities across the world. 

With an objective to focus on Cancer Immunotherapy, the first online collaborative research workshop was conducted in tandem with this agreement. Researchers from the two institutions had a round-table discussion regarding the areas of research and expertise. 

In recent years, Cancer Immunotherapy has gained and experienced significant advances and now the important work is underway to bring its advantages to the patients across the world in a cost-effective way. 

As per the statement, this workshop brought a small group of MAHE and Dalhousie researchers who had common interests and expertise to spark new synergies and discussions that will lead to significant opportunities for advancement and joint research in both institutes.

Dalhousie's Vice President, Government, and Global Relations, Matt Hebb said that the collaborative research workshop will witness new partnerships and connections among the researchers of MAHE and Dalhousie who are working directly in cancer immunotherapy. 

He also said that they're looking forward to discovering potential for future linkages with MAHE in key areas including Global health, Artificial intelligence, and Sustainability.
