MIT Manipal Modifies Exam Timetable; Ditches End-Sem Exams

Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), a unit of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has issued a fresh circular explaining the conduct of examinations for 2020.

Earlier, students of MIT had stormed the internet with disapprovals for online sessions and end-sem exams. Alleging security issues, students were constantly objecting the use of PEXA LITE for such sessions and final semester exams.

The new circular by the director of MIT states, it will use online platforms by Microsoft Teams for Sessional Test II starting from June 10, 2020, and not June 8.

Further details on the circular are available on the official website of Manipal Institute of Technology

SLCM and the respective departments will communicate to the students regarding the semester examinations by Monday, dated June 8, 2020.

Students of higher semesters or MAHE PG, who are unable to attend second sessional tests have to write to HOD providing valid reasons. For first-year students, the same has to be written to Associate Director-Academics.

Retests are to be announced later for students who missed both first and second sessional tests.

As of now, B.Tech. (Semesters II/IV/VI) and MAHE MCA/M.Tech. (Semester II) July exams stand cancelled. On receiving University guidelines, students will be informed about marks allocations for semester examinations.

The latest notification by MIT has overridden sessional tests, semester examinations and criteria for promotion and branch change as earlier mentioned in the circular of June 5.
