Nagaland Government is all set to distribute pen drives along with the study materials to the students of classes 5-12 from the rural areas. One of the key reasons for this move is the poor connectivity in the rural areas which restricts the learning of these students.
As per the Government Officials, the two phases of the online education have been completed since the schools have been closed in the state due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Shanavas C Principal Director of School Education has even clarified in his statement about the constituents of the pen drive being distributed to the children along with the study material. He stated that the pen drive will contain the syllabus covered during online classes being conducted since May 1, 2020.
The pen drive will help students from rural areas who are unable to access online facilities because of poor connectivity. As a measure to this problem, the pen drives have been loaded with the study materials which will be distributed to such students from classes 5 to 12.
Commencement of Third Phase of Online Classes
As per the Government Officials, the third phase of online education across the state will commence from August 18, 2020.
The education department has asked teachers from rural areas to assist the students in their studies since they face problems in accessing online classes.
Moreover, the department has also notified that private schools can also place their orders for the pen drives through the department portal - dosenl.in.
An amount ranging from 350 INR to 850 INR is to be paid by private schools for a pen drive which will include the syllabus.
The private schools will have to pay an amount ranging between Rs. 350 to Rs, 850 for a pen drive dispensing on the syllabus included in them
Additionally, the state department has also asked the teachers to distribute the notes and worksheets to the students of the lower classes regularly to make sure there is continuity in their education.
As per recent reports of the state, all the educational institutions in the state will remain shut until August 31, 2020.
