The Savitribai Phule Pune University SPPU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India.
The MoU was signed to help the students who are pursuing commerce at SPPU to gain industry experience with accountants. This move is also expected to help the students as well as faculties of the university with skill development.
Nitin Karmalkar, the Vice-Chancellor of SPPU, and Nihar Jambusaria, the vice president of ICAI have signed the agreement at the City Hotel on December 31, 2020. Other officials of ICAI including the functionaries of regional, state, and local chapters were also present while signing the MoU.
Karmalkar stated, “The MoU will provide practical, skill and employment-oriented education to commerce students and faculty. It will be helpful to extend academic cooperation for various commerce courses, conduct faculty development programmes, help students seeking jobs with CA firms and enhance skill sets of students through webinars and seminars. We are signing MoU’s with different institutes and this is a positive step towards new education policy implementation.”
