Hello and welcome! I'm delighted you contacted out for help with this. As someone who has worked in education for some time, I'd be pleased to share my ideas about IBS Hyderabad.
First and foremost, IBS Hyderabad is a well-known management education institute. It is continuously ranked among India's top B-schools and provides a dynamic curriculum that mixes theoretical and practical learning. The faculty members are highly skilled and competent, and the campus is outfitted with the most up-to-date equipment and resources to help you learn.
On the other hand, I recognize that selecting a college is a huge decision, and it might be difficult to determine whether IBS Hyderabad is the appropriate fit for you. My personal advice is to carefully analyze your options and examine your goals and aspirations. If you want to pursue a career in management, IBS Hyderabad is a fantastic choice because it offers several opportunities for networking, internships, and placements. You can also speak with alumni or current students to have a better idea of campus culture and how it compares to your expectations.
I'd like to offer a personal anecdote to emphasize the importance of selecting the proper college. I had a great acquaintance who was also interested in finance. He had to choose between two institutions and chose the one that was closer to home. As it turned out, the curriculum wasn't as robust as he'd planned, and he struggled to keep up with the workload. On the other hand, I chose a college that was further away from home but provided a well-rounded education, adequate resources, and growth prospects. It was a difficult choice, but I'm pleased I went with the latter because it formed me into the person I am now.
IBS Hyderabad is a private business school in India. It is a part of the ICFAI Foundation for higher education, which is a deemed-to-be university under the UGC Act.
Pursuing an MBA from IBS Hyderabad can open many opportunities for students for career progression. The institution has a strong industry connection and a placement cell that assists the students with internships and final placements. Recruiters such as Amazon, Deloitte, EY, Goldman Sachs, Infosys, KMPG, and PwC offer lucrative packages to students.
The institute also offers a lot of options for specialization streams in its MBA program. Students also get the chance to participate in various extracurricular activities and sporting events which helps in building both personal and professional proficiency and makes them more desirable candidate.
Between these two options, MBA from IBS Hyderabad is better. However, you should know that the ROI for the degree isn’t that good. Due to the huge student intake, everyone doesn’t get the required attention. During placement too, every student doesn’t get placement offers. IBS Hyderabad placement highlights state the average CTC offered was 7.97 LPA.
If you are going to Hyderabad, you should consider other reputed management institutes like Ashoka School of Business.
NMAT exam is an entrance exam for admission to various management programs offered by NMIMS Mumbai/Bangalore/Hyderabad and IBS Hyderabad, among others.
A score of 206 in NMAT is not high enough to receive a call from NMIMS Mumbai/ Bangalore/ Hyderabad, which means you will not be considered for admission to these top-ranked institutions.
IBS Hyderabad will contact you for the joint interview in their Hyderabad campus, but depending on your score, you may be allocated to one of the other IBS campuses like Mumbai, Gurgaon, Jaipur, etc. IBS Hyderabad ranks higher than these other campuses. Therefore, carefully consider your options and make an informed decision based on your goals and preferences.

Although both colleges belong to more or less the same tier, IBS has a bigger brand value in terms of MBA, and VIT is known for its engineering degrees. Both the colleges have their known strengths and weaknesses. IBS Hyderabad has a market perception that it has a very rigorous curriculum.
During the placement season, it gets very competitive and tedious, especially in the fields of finance and marketing. IBS comes under ICFAI which has collaborations with international universities and offers global exposure to facilitate its students who are interested in student exchange programs.
VIT Chennai is focused on research and innovation and has dedicated resources toward working in this direction. This shouldn’t come as a surprise since the institute is well-reputed for its engineering program. VIT also has tie-ups with foreign universities and associations for research, workshops, and projects. Make a decision based on factors that are important to you. If you’re too fixated on the batch size then you might want to avoid IBS Hyderabad.
I have tried to present some numbers for your reference and hope it would help you make an informed decision:

IBS is known for calling all candidates to Hyderabad for counseling and then informing them that they have been admitted to a different branch of IBS in another location. This does not provide the candidate with the opportunity to go home and make an informed decision based on research.
If you are admitted to the main IBS Hyderabad campus, it would be a good option.
However, other branches of ICFAI are not highly ranked. In that case, the Jaipuria Institute of Management in Lucknow is a better option. The author personally recommends the Jaipuria Institute of Management due to their overall experience there. The institute places a lot of emphasis on the overall grooming of students, and their placement opportunities are a major factor in the recommendation.
