I am a second year B.Tech Mechanical student at Christ University Bangalore. I do not know much about PES Electronic City campus, but I can give some insight into my own university.
I was suggested to join Christ University for my engineering studies by my elder sister. She has some friends at the time who were also pursuing their B.Tech from Christ.
I selected Christ for engineering studies because-
These are some reasons why I would suggest you choose Christ University Bangalore for your B.Tech Mechanical degree.
According to the reviews online and talking to some of my friends, I got to know that both the colleges are really good. Both the colleges have lively atmosphere and culture and also, the faculties are really good and give great placements. You won’t regret joining either of two.
Categories | Mechanical at PDPU | Mechanical at Nirma University |
Course Fee | 9.73 lakh | 7.24 lakh |
Highest CTC | 19 LPA | 20 LPA |
Average CTC | 16 LPA | 12 LPA |
Also, from overall view I think you should opt for Nirma. But don’t rush into your decision, think as much as you want and choose the best for you. The decision is all yours at last.
There are different viewpoints for the same question. It primarily depends upon what is best for you, and whether or not the course you are willing to take interests you.
One of my friends encountered a similar problem likewise, and addressing the same, here are some points you might want to consider before diving into any conclusion,
You should research the same for BITS Goa and find whether or not the rule is similarly applicable in the institute. This is the basic difference you can find between both institutes.
Both NIT Surathkal and IIEST Shibpur are amazing institutes and the departments of the mentioned branches are at their best. The deciding factor here is your branch of interest.
Categories | CSE at IIEST Shibpur | Mechanical at NIT Surathkal |
Course Fee | 5.68 lakhs | 5.40 lakhs |
Highest CTC | 29-35 LPA | 28 LPA |
Average CTC | 17-18 LPA | 10-15 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | Deloitte, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, etc. | L&T, JP Morgan, IOCL, GAIL, etc. |
But when we compare placements in the CSE branch of IIEST Shibpur to the mechanical branch of NITK, IIEST Shibpur wins hands down. The decision here ultimately comes down to you. Consider all the above factors and choose wisely.
NIRF ranked Jadavpur University 12th in the top 100 universities and colleges of India. According to QS Asia rankings, it is ranked 136. Whereas, IIEST Shibpur has been ranked 19th by NIRF among the top colleges of India. As we know that IIEST Shibpur is one of the topmost engineering colleges in India and Jadavpur university is also making its mark so these colleges are often compared.
Given below is a brief comparison between the two institutes based on certain parameters.

Anyone having any confusion has to which of the two is the best must-have got a clear idea of it by now for the above-mentioned comparisons.
If you are considering the main SRM campus, you don’t need to hesitate. The campus is quite good. The faculties might not be great, but there are departments where they are found to be standard.
The hostels however are not quite up to the mark, so you can opt to search for a PG. The student crowd is quite impressive. You will be among talented peers. Also, SRM has a standard placement record.
Additionally, the other bonus point is that this institute is one of the most known private universities all through India. VIT, Manipal, BITS being the other three, while Thapar RVCE and so on follow straightaway.
A brief highlight of both institutes is briefed below.

If you want to go for Mechanical Engineering, then you must go to SRM Sonepat. It is due to the fact that UPES is good basically for Petroleum, Aerospace Engineering and a few of the CS Branches, while SRM Sonepat can be a good choice for mechanical engineering.
I have many friends pursuing Mechanical Engineering in Pune from institutes like CIIT, VIT or MIT. Here is a comparative analysis of the two based on some common aspects
The final decision will depend on your future prospects and inclinations.
VIIT Pune Mechanical Engineering program is a 4-year course and the course fee is around INR 5.96 Lakhs (General). The hostel fee is INR 1.21 Lakhs.
You should not waste your year and get admitted to VIIT Pune for your Mechanical Engineering. VIIT Pune is quite a good college. If you drop a year, you might regret that decision because then you will need to explain your gap to the recruiters during placements.
All the institutions in Pune are similar in terms of facilities. The crowd at VIIT Pune is pretty good. The faculty is average. The placement scenario for Mechanical at VIIT
Pune is average.
Here are the placement statistics for B.Tech Mechanical Engineering (2022) at VIIT Pune-

Yes, it was confusing once, two years ago and now I can happily confess that I do not regret choosing IIT Gandhinagar over BITS-Pilani. Since I also have friends in both the colleges, I can provide a detailed overview of the good and bad aspects of the colleges.
Also, information on BITS might be limited due to it will depend mostly on other people’s experiences, but the answer will talk about the good and bad side of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Gandhinagar.
Following are the merits of IIT Gandhinagar:
One thing that students could miss at IIT Gandhinagar is the cultural fests and events. They don't have grand cultural fests of their own. This privilege was taken away by the seniors, which we were trying to rectify. But gratefully, we already have enough, so, that doesn't make us expect too much of these grand fests for ourselves.
I am opting for the core branches at IIT Bhubaneswar rather than engineering design at IIT Madras.
