Sharda University-

LPU has been ranked 99th (overall) by NIRF and the Engineering department has been ranked 87th by NIRF 2020. Whereas Sharda University has been ranked 92nd for Engineering by India Today.

Admission:

LPU-

  • At LPU any B. Tech at Mechanical Engineering aspirants must have at least 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and English or, any subject that is equivalent to qualifying LPUNEST.

  • For students, those who have secured 90% in 10+2 or 90 percentile in JEE Mains are exempted from LPUNEST and can directly apply for the admission.

Sharda University-

  • In the case of Sharda University, Mechanical engineering aspirants must have at least 60% aggregate in 10+2 in physics, chemistry, and mathematics.

Sharda University is well known in the education field, the department of Civil engineering in the University provides quality education as well as decent placements to the students. It is ranked 65 for private engineering by India Today 2019.

More than 30 fortune 500 companies and 150 MNCs visit Sharda University. The placement cell at the University offers the On-Campus as well as Off-Campus recruitment opportunities.

  • Students of this program are placed in companies with an average annual package of 3.51 LPA.

  • However, the percentage of core placement for B.tech civil engineering in 2018 and 2019 was not more than 10 percent. About only 5 students out of 62 got placed in core companies from the department in the last years.

  • The highest salary package offered is 4.2 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 2.8 LPA.

There was only one core-sector company that visited for campus placements for the civil engineering department. Both Sharda University and IIMT offer decent CSE programs. Sharda University, Greater Noida is ranked 65th for private engineering by India Today 2019. Whereas, IIMT, Greater Noida is ranked 111 by Times 2020.

Admissions:

Sharda University-

  • It organizes an entrance exam known as SUAT.

  • Candidates with 60 % aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics are eligible to apply for this entrance.

  • Applicants who are rank holders in JEE-Main/UPSEE will be exempted from SUAT. Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview.
