Life after graduating from the Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad will be highly rewarding for an experienced professional. The ISB is a highly prestigious institution that is recognized globally for its quality education and networking opportunities.
After graduating from ISB, you can expect to receive higher salaries and better job opportunities than you did before enrolling in the program. The ISB alumni network is extensive and has a strong reputation, making it easier for graduates to connect with other professionals and secure job opportunities easily.
However, it's important to keep in mind that salary and job opportunities can vary based on individual circumstances, such as the industry, location, and specific role but generally, the graduates from ISB Hyderabad have been successful in diverse fields, including consulting, finance, entrepreneurship, and technology. Hope it helps, cheers!
My personal choice would be INSEAD if you’re getting the main Campus ( Europe). Let’s start comparing the two with the most important factor i.e. ROI.
The academic fee for PGP offered at ISB is starting from Rs. 38 L -41 L annually based on the accommodation. Whereas INSEAD has a fee of 88-90 L. But the career opportunities that are offered at INSEAD are limitless. The potential for growth and the range of career advancement available there is vast.
Comparing these two colleges would not be an easy task because we have to keep the details in mind. INSEAD would always have the location advantage over ISB no matter how good ISB is. Once you graduate from INSEAD, you’ll be ahead of the game for at least three years with a career boost.
If we talk about the placements, the kind of companies that visit the two colleges are similar to a great extent but the profiles and project opportunities you’d be working on after graduating from a top Global college are beyond comparison.
ISB's PGP (MBA) program is divided into two stages:
To apply to ISB, you must have a valid GMAT / GRE score and at least two years of experience. Applicants to the Young Leaders program (YLP) and Early Entry Option (EEO) do not need to have two years of experience to be admitted to ISB.
Needless to say, ISB has a brutally competitive admissions procedure, with thousands of top-tier students from leading undergraduate schools (IITs, NITs, SRCC, CBS, Stephens, and so on) as well as from overseas. To distinguish out in such a talented and diversified application pool (Doctors, journalists, and media professionals also apply to ISB), your essays must be outstanding, clearly bringing forth the story.
All the aforementioned colleges are among the best B Schools in India so the choice between them depends on your preference and future prospects. You need to determine what exactly you want from the program and where your career currently is.
In general, ISB is for people who have better industry experience, good leadership skills and decent academics. The other B Schools focus more on excellent academics throughout your career.
The ranking of these institutes in my opinion is ISB, IIM-A, B, C>IIM-L, FMS, XLRI,>SPJIMR
The above preference order is based on a number of factors like career progression, college market value perception, quality of faculty, quality of students, academic learning, quality of recruiters and infrastructure.
A Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from IIM Bangalore and an MBA from ISB Hyderabad are highly regarded and offer good professional chances.
Your career goals and preferences determine the program to choose. To help you choose, below are some important differences between the two programs:
Both IIM Calcutta and ISB Hyderabad are renowned universities in India, however, there are some significant variations between them in terms of their academic offerings, pedagogical approaches, and hiring practices. Some of the key variations between the two are as follows:
The chance to experience a new corporate culture and environment is one advantage of enrolling in an IBS Hyderabad. If you are an international student and intend to pursue a post-MBA career in India, the institute will help you to gain important insights and experiences into the country’s fast-expanding economy and lively business environment.
The chance to network with other students and professionals from India and other countries is another benefit. A varied student and teacher body is one of the things that differentiate elite business schools. This would also be beneficial for networking opportunities and would help in establishing contacts.
One possible drawback is the language barrier for an international student in India. Even while almost all B-schools in India offer courses in English, certain campus interactions may take place in Hindi or another regional language which could make it challenging for foreign students to engage completely and gain the most from the course.
The benefits and drawbacks of enrolling at an Indian business school like the ISB would ultimately rely on the particular student, their ambitions, and their priorities. Before choosing anything, students should conduct a thorough study and weigh their possibilities.
In terms of faculty, placements, curriculum and other aspects, ISB Hyderabad is good for MBA Finance. The curriculum is well-designed and covers the current standard practices in the industry. The basic Fiannace subjects are covered in earlier in the program and students get to choose their electives in the last 5 terms.
ISB placements are good for Finance. But it depends a lot on the students. The job profile you will be offered will depend a lot on your background, profile, interests, etc. During 2022 placements, the salary packages offered for Finance profiles were in the range of INR 24.5 LPA - 38 LPA.
ISB caters to working professionals with more than 2 years of experience. If you do not belong to this category, this institution is not for you.
Now coming to the other options,
The HR program of XLRI is very old and renowned. Because of it, XLRI receives a slightly higher number of recruiters. This boosts its average package. Its limited batch size also benefits its placements. IIMK, FMS and XLRI receive more or less the same companies. But IIMK and XLRI attract MBB (McKinsey, Bain, BCG) for their front end roles, which IIMI and FMS do not.
Considering all these factors, XLRI is the best choice, mainly because of its small batch size. It is followed by IIMK and FMS, and IIM Indore comes last.
ISB Hyderabad and ISB Mohali are two different campuses of the same school. ISB Hyderabad is one of the top private business schools in India and it is the main campus. The other campus is in Mohali. The college was ranked 10 in 2020 by the composite rank for MBA. Even though they are two different schools, they have the same unified admission process.
There is a very minute difference between both schools. ISB Mohali has small batches; the teachers of ISB Mohali are from US B schools while in ISB Hyderabad there are in-house teachers. ISB Hyderabad is more renowned as compared to the Mohali campus.
Placements:
In terms of placements, both the colleges have the same placements, same admission processes, and same courses.
Infrastructure:
In terms of infrastructure, ISB Mohali has a comparatively new campus but in comparison to ISB Hyderabad, the new campus is smaller and has fewer facilities than the one in Hyderabad.
Therefore, the above mentioned are the differences between the two schools.
