I got only 59.61 percentile in DILR. But in English and maths I got 97 and 88 respectively, overall 90.71. Will I get calls from IMI Delhi and XIMB?

If you have an aggregate percentile of above 90%, you can go with IMI Delhi as the marks are not evaluated subject-wise. However at XIMB, they have mentioned that they will have a sectional cut-off, but you are above 50% in all the sections.

But before you choose any of the institutes, you should ask yourself, if you put enough effort into quants and DILR while preparing. If the answer is no. Then, it will be better to prepare for another year and aim for a better score.

If you put in the hard work now, you can get into a much better B-School like IIMs, SPJ, etc. A better school means more academic pressure, but in the end, you will end up with a better CTC and a reputed company. In corporate life, pressure is not available, so why not aim to do it with a better salary?

If you put in 18 hours of work for 6-7 months, your percentile will definitely improve. And if staying motivated is a challenge for you, you can get a mentor who will push you to do better.

So, although IMI and XIMB are pretty good options, it will be better if you try to better your percentile.

Can I get a call from XIMB HR with an NMAT score of 189?

SB
Soumita Baxi Posted On : June 16th, 2021
MBA BM, XLRI (2018)

Most probably, no. Here are some reasons why you have negligible chances with this score.

  • Conservative estimates put XIMB HR in the 205+ score range whereas generous estimates put XIMB HR in the 190+ score range. According to the 2020 trends, the NMAT cutoff for XIMB is 200.
  • XIMB is one of the prime management colleges with a great curriculum and great placements, thus leaving no reasons for the cutoff to go below 190.
  • 190 is even lower than generous estimates for NMIMS Bangalore and NMIMS Hyderabad, which are not as good as XIMB, as per most national-level rankings.

Although there are little to no chances, you never know what is the trend each year. You may get selected next year or maybe not, it all depends on the number of seats and highest score. The best advice here is to prepare well and give a retake.

What option would be better between XIMB HRM and LBSIM Delhi, keeping package, exposure, fees(loan amount) and career opportunities in mind for a fresher?

When considering different management programs, it is important to take into account various factors such as package, opportunities, industry recognition, and brand value. In this regard, XIMB's Human Resource (HR) program (XaHR) is generally considered to be superior to that of LBSIM. XIMB's HR program is considered one of the best in the country, along with those offered by institutions such as XLRI, TISS, SCMHRD, and MDI. LBSIM, on the other hand, is considered a decent business school.

It's important to note that if one's career goal is not in the field of Human Resources, then it might be a better option to consider LBSIM Delhi's General Management program. This program offers a decent package and a good return on investment. It's crucial to consider your career goals and aspirations while making a decision.

In conclusion, both XIMB and LBSIM offer different management programs and have their own unique strengths and reputations. Therefore, it's important to research and understand the various factors such as package, opportunities, industry recognition, and brand value, in order to make an informed decision that aligns with one's career goals and aspirations.

What should I wear for an XIMB interview?

TS

You should wear formal for an XIMB interview. Wear a neatly tucked-in formal shirt with formal trousers, a belt, and formal shoes. It’s better to wear belt and shoes of the same color. You can wear a blazer as well if you have one. Don’t overdo your hair, keep it simple.

Which is better to opt for, XIMB RM or XISS Finance?

SM
Shreya Manna Posted On : June 9th, 2021
MBA-Rural Management, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (2017)

According to my friends studying at XIMB RM, the college is not called XIMB RM anymore. The last batch to pass from the college with this college name was the 2015-2017 batch. It has been renamed to Xavier School of Rural Management (XSRM) under the umbrella of Xavier University, Bhubaneshwar.

  • This split has not had any impact on the branding.
  • If you are concerned with the quality of education and faculty, let me assure you that those have remained the same.
  • When it comes to rural management, you should know that it is more like a product differentiation from an actual MBA.
  • It is also often known as an MBA+ where you will get to explore and gain knowledge on subjects like sociology, development, planning in rural areas and many other fields.
  • This will open up a number of opportunities for you to explore in the development sector which you perhaps would not be able to explore in other MBA courses.
Categories XSRM
Course Fee 13.8 lakh
Highest CTC 13.2 - 17 LPA
Average CTC 8-9 LPA
Recruiting Companies Amul, Godrej Agrovet Limited, ITC Limited, Mapro Foods, ADM Agro Industries, Tolaram Group, etc.

As far as XISS Finance is concerned, you should get in touch with a postgraduate student from that college to get to know more about it. As of now, I would suggest you go for XSRM.

Which one is better, IMT-G finance vs. XIMB (HR)?

S
Sagardeep Posted On : February 2nd, 2023
Studied Master of Business Administration Degrees at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (Graduated 2011)

Comparing Finance and HR is not an apples-to-apples comparison as they are two distinct fields with different career paths and job opportunities. Therefore, it is important to choose a program based on your interests and career aspirations.

XIMB offers one of the best HR programs in the country and is considered one of the top B-schools for HR. In terms of overall ranking, XIMB BM is considered to be better than IMT G PGDM and XIMB HR. However, when it comes to placements, XIMB BM is considered to be the best followed by IMT G PGDM and XIMB HR.

If you are interested in a career in finance, IMT G PGDM would be a better choice for you as it offers a strong finance program. However, if you are inclined towards HR, XIMB HR would be a great option as it is considered one of the top B-schools for HR in the country.

It is important to keep in mind that while placements are an important consideration, they should not be the only factor in your decision-making process. It's important to weigh the other factors such as the course curriculum, location, facilities, reputation of the institution, and your own interests and career aspirations. It's advisable to do your research, visit the institutions, and talk to current students or alumni to get a better understanding of the program and the opportunities it offers before making a decision.
