A student's life in IIM Bangalore is a blend of stress and fun. The first 2 semesters are quite tough since the curriculum here is very extensive. But you don’t have to give up on this pressure and by 3rd term, you will see yourself adapting to it. Also, the initial terms are when you make the best friends of your life. Your company will define how the following two years will shape you into a new person.
To maintain rigor the institute organized frequent quizzes and group projects. You are required to multitask and also prioritize your tasks. This will continue for 5-6 courses. You will get enough relaxation through fests, and breaks during summer and final placements.

You are required to go through a selection process of multiple rounds which are structured by the senior coordinators (SCs) of the club. You need to perform tasks and have to qualify for several interview rounds to get selected for the membership of the clubs. The selection would not be just about your ability and credentials. It will also judge how suitable you are for the culture of the club. The competition for selections is quite high as many students compete against each other to get into the clubs and many don’t care at all about them.
- There can be a certain amount of benefit for you if you join one of the clubs in regards to placements. You can include the activities you participated in, in your resume. You can also get help before and during the placement process begins for your batch.
- It takes an immense amount of hard work in being part of an active club. You would have to attend meetings for hours, roam around the campus any time of the day to get things done, and so on. But you would also have this group of friends from various backgrounds and communities. You surely can learn a lot by being part of the events which are organized by the Clubs.

Sports center: IIM Bangalore is heaven for sports freaks. Its vast infrastructure comprises a sports center where badminton, squash, pool, table tennis, cricket, volleyball, and basketball are played.

Surreal campus: IIM Bangalore has a lush green campus with paved roads around ideal for late-night walks. The temperature here is moderate due to the excess greenery.

Is it better to be a topper in the new IIMs (Tricky, Ranchi, Rohtak, Udaipur, Raipur, Kashipur) than being an average student at IIM A,B, or C?
One cannot really compare the enriched experience and worth of old IIMs to the newer ones. No matter how high grades you score in the older IIMs, they can never be at par even with the average marks of an old IIM student. Their skills, knowledge, and confidence are at another level. Older IIMs help you achieve bigger goals and earn much more. So it’s better if you are an average student at an old IIM than a topper at a new IIM.
What is the difference between IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore, considering the brand value, placements, packages, etc.?
I have drawn a clear comparison between IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore based on the following parameters:

Campus size: IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore both has a campus of 100 Acres.

Hostel: IIM Ahmedabad has 25 student dormitories with a total capacity to hold about 740 occupants. IIM Bangalore also offers single-room occupancy to its students.

Internet facility: Both the hostels have a 24/7 internet connection.

Crowd Diversity: IIM Bangalore is slightly at an advantage here because IIM Ahmedabad lays more emphasis on the engineering background of students.

Learning experience: IIM Ahmedabad is more academically oriented whereas IIM Bangalore focuses on the overall development of its students.

Rigour: The faculty strength, academic mix, and more balanced approach to extra-curricular activities make IIM Ahmedabad a better one in this regard.

Placements: It will be unjustified to decide which IIM of the two offers better placement opportunities. This is because both offer the best but in their respective specialties. Based on the above factors we can infer that no B-School is better than the other. It all depends on how well you make use of the resources and achieve your goals. Both the IIMs will definitely give you a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
