The LPU campus and hostels are safe for girl students. Here are some measures taken by the university authorities to ensure girl students’ safety-

• The University gates as well as the hostel entrance are provided with strict security.
• The entire campus is under constant CCTV surveillance. 
• The girls hostel security guards are females. 
• Outsiders are strictly forbidden within the university premises. Even parents have to obtain a gate pass to enter the university campus. 
• Girl hostellers need special gate passes to leave the university premises, except on leave days. For the passes, their parents’ permission is required.
• There is a strict hostel in-time for girls.

The girl students at LPU are provided with good hostel facilities-

• Each hostel room has an attached washroom, an AC, and a geyser. 
• The hostellers are permitted to use electrical appliances with 5 Amp maximum load per apartment. 
• The campus hospital and ambulance are available for medical assistance. 
• The hostellers are allowed to keep electrical kettles, electrical irons, steamers, shaving sets, trimmers, hair straighteners, and hair dryers. 

Thus LPU offers not only safety, but also all the necessary facilities to its girl students.

• Placement Interviews: When attending placement interviews, dressing professionally is crucial. This means following standard interview attire norms, like formal shirts, trousers, or professional dresses.

No, textbooks and other course materials are typically not included in your LPU program fees. You'll be responsible for acquiring them on your own. The good news is that LPU has a well-equipped library with a vast collection of books and resources across various disciplines. You can access these resources and borrow books for free to support your studies. The library also subscribes to a variety of e-books and online databases that you can utilize.

LPU does offer refunds for program withdrawals, but the amount you receive depends on the timing of your request. Here's a breakdown of the policy:

• Within 15 days after the last date of admission (before July 15th, 2024): A processing fee of INR 200 will be deducted. The remaining program fee will be refunded. 
• Between 16th June and 30th June 2024: A 10% deduction from the program fee will be applied only if the vacated seat is filled by a waitlisted applicant. If the seat remains vacant, no refund will be granted.
• Between 1st July and 15th July 2024: A 20% deduction from the program fee will be applied only if the vacated seat is filled by a waitlisted applicant. If the seat remains vacant, no refund will be granted. 
• After 15th July 2024: No refund will be granted for any program fee or other charges.

As there are different phases of LPUNEST and the admission process, the starting date of classes varies from one branch and phase of students, but it did start from one month to three months.

In my experience, the exact number of unfilled seats can vary depending on the program. However, LPU has a large intake capacity, so there could be around 300 seats across various programs even after the admission process.
