Undoubtedly, this one of the most obvious questions that come to our mind when we are about to shift to a new place.
Bathrooms are extremely important for our day-to-day routine, so coming to your question the bathrooms in the boys’ hostels are quite good. My brother has spent one year as a hosteller in Hostel-9 named as B.Sen Hall and till now have no complaints regarding the bathrooms.
Also, you can check the hostel fee structure down below:

Yes, there are Indian-styled toilets. Some of my brother’s friends faced problems in the initial days as they were habituated to Western-styled but later on, they got adjusted to the situation and have no complaints.
If you are trying for CSE branch then you should expect a CGPA between 9.10-9.3. But this CGPA may vary as well. You should have a word had in the 1st semester so that there is no problem while changing to any branch. You should also analyze the competition level in the college as well so that you can predict the CGPA for this.
At IIEST Shibpur there are fixed number of seats which needs to be filled by the students of other branches like in the case of CS and IT they allow up to 4 students while in the case of ETC they take up to 2 students. The eligibility for changing the branch is done by your CGPA and applications are usually accepted after the third week of July i.e. right after the starting of third semester.
Lot of applications are there and it depends upon your CGPA which branch you will be allocated. If you have a good CGPA then you will have more chances for getting your preferred branch.
Yes IIEST Shibpur wants to give the choice of doing B.Tech and M.tech degrees from two different institutes. As most of the students opt for M.tech degrees after passing out from this college. If you have cleared GATE then you are also eligible for the scholarship program. After completing six semesters the students are asked about their choices for an M.Tech degree.
The college has signed an MOU with University of California Irvine in which the universities will be providing dual degree programs to the students. In this the students will have to complete a total 10 semesters in which 8 semesters from IIEST and 2 semesters from University of California. This will be a five year integrated program. The students who would like to continue with 9th and 10th semesters will be given a choice by the university to do a masters program from the universities that are tied up with IIEST Shibpur. You will also get the chance to do projects at reputed places. In any case the college will provide an opportunity to do at least one semester internship as a part of a master's project in any industry. The college is also trying an MOU with IITs and universities abroad for a five year integrated program.
One of my friends graduated from IIEST Shibpur, so I will be able to share some of its details, which might give you a better understanding of the campus.
