Is CMAT percentile 92.86 enough to crack the cutoff of great lakes Gurgaon?

PP
Pablo Pathanobish Posted On : June 17th, 2021
MBA from ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad (2020)

One of my close friends attended Great Lakes at Gurgaon and here are some tips based on her experience.

  • You will be evaluated based on their GMAT/ CAT/ XAT/ CMAT scores, previous academic performance, essays, work experience (if any), and performance in the personal interview.
  • The selection process is built in a criterion that facilitates evaluating academic abilities, standardized test scores, rank, integrity and ethical values, and diversity of background.
  • At Great Lakes, there are no fixed cut-offs, you will be evaluated in a multidisciplinary way. Profiles are considered completely although the test scores are important, the selection is more emphasized on well-rounded candidates with an overall strong track record.

In 2020, the required CMAT cutoff at the institute was 85%. So, you are eligible for the institute but try to make your profile better as the CMAT score alone is not enough to get selected for admission.

A lot of students are generally concerned as to how to score the cut-off for K J Somaiya. The answer to this is very simple: to reach any cut-off list for any of the colleges, your score should be high.

  • Particularly talking about K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies, you should score a cut-off of at least 225.
  • K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies is a well-known B school in Mumbai where you can take admission through NMAT.
  • The NMAT exam consists of three sections with 36 questions each.
  • The sections include logical reasoning, quantitative skills, and language skills.
  • You need to be well-versed with all three sections to clear the cut-off for K J Somaiya Institute.

The cut-offs for CAT, XAT, and NMAT for the year 2021 were as follows –

CAT 83 percentile
XAT 70 percentile
NMAT 225 score

If you want to prepare in a better manner, you can take some help and guidance from various preparation sites on the internet. There are plenty of them available like Gradeup, Handa ka Fanda, etc.

Is 8.5 CGPA good for IIM?

KS
Khrisnandu Sahoo Posted On : April 27th, 2023
IIM Bangalore (2019)

Most IIMs are strict about the minimum 8 CG criteria with IIM Bangalore being the most rigid. To stay on the safe side, one must maintain an 8.5+CG. However, when combined with other parameters like work experience and gender diversity, even a lower CG of around 8 is considered decent.

So, we can say that an 8.5 CGPA is definitely a good CGPA for IIM.

Why is the cutoff for computer science in Thapar lower than that of NIT Jalandhar?

AA
Ayush Agarwal Posted On : December 3rd, 2022
B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Jalandhar (NITJ) (Graduated 2020)

The cutoff for computer science in Thapar has seen a fall in figures. This is because of the decrease in the fame of this college. There are so many better and popular institutes that people usually don’t consider Thapar as their first choice.

Even big companies prefer students from IITs, BITS or DTU. Students themselves opt for IIT because of its tag. They know the IIT tag will always be a boon for them.

The general decrease in its popularity has resulted in lower cutoffs and the situation seems to be worsening over the years to come.

If IIIT Bangalore MTech in CS/IT is that good, why it has so low GATE cutoff?

PP
Pratik Parikh Posted On : October 7th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

IIIT Bangalore does not offer any UF program and this translates to poor reputation. The majority of the student community and major recruiters are unaware of the college's existence. However, it offers a unique integrated course which is one of its kind graduate courses.

The uniqueness lies in the fact that the M.Tech course offered by IIIT Bangalore is majorly industry oriented in contrast to the research-focused curricula in other top institutions. This is also the reason why many major IT companies visit the college for campus placements and students get placed better than most of the IITs. It’s likely to become better in the future with its increasing demand and reputation and will stand at par with IITs.

So grab the seat while you can!

What is the other state cutoff for Anna University?

MB
Mannat Baweja Posted On : December 3rd, 2022
BE in Manufacturing, College of Engineering Guindy, Tamil Nadu, India (Graduated 2016)

There are 52 seats reserved for quotas from other states. These seats are divided into four regions: north, south, east, and west.

For the reserved category, there are significant yearly variations. Because the number of seats reserved for each region is so small, the general cutoffs will change every year. You simply need to register, remain calm, and hope for the best.

You must have passed your HSC or an equivalent exam with a minimum of 50% in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry to be eligible. The pass percentage for SC/ST candidates is reduced to 40%.

Can I get into the Heritage Institute of Technology with a JEE Mains rank of 75,000 (in 2021)?

AG
Ahana Ghosh Posted On : September 22nd, 2021
Studied at Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata

There are three ways you can get admission to the Heritage Institute of Technology. Which are as follows.

  • Counseling based on JEE Main rank.
  • Counseling based on WBJEE rank.
  • By direct admission through management quota.

One of my friends got admission to HIT in Mechanical Engineering through JEE Mains. His rank was 58k, and he was almost the last candidate for JEE Mains quota.

With a rank of 75k, you may get branches like Biotechnology but you are not likely to get into branches like CSE.

So, wait for the WBJEE counseling to begin. HIT gives more admission through WBJEE.
