Which is better, an IIT KGP CSE dual degree or an IIT Roorkee CSE B.Tech?
Without any second thoughts, choose IIT Roorkee CSE B. Tech over IIT KGP CSE dual degree because dual degrees are usually less preferred by companies coming for placements.
It’s better to do MTech after BTech than to opt for a dual degree. The main reason is that in Masters you are open to changing your branch in case your interest goes to another field. But a dual degree means you will be studying the same field with no option of changing in between.
Another major disadvantage of a dual degree is that you are not eligible to change your branch to a 4-year program irrespective of your CGPA
You will see your batchmates leaving a year before you and getting offers and settling well before you.
IIT KGP no doubt is older and better than IIT Roorkee in every aspect. But as far as the program is concerned, a dual degree is not worth spending so many years at all.
What should I take, electrical engineering at IIT Delhi or CSE at BITS Pilani?
IIT Delhi and BITS Pilani are two highly reputed institutions for engineering studies in India. I am a second year B.Tech Electrical student at IIT Delhi. During my time, I was faced with a similar dilemma. But I ended up choosing IIT Delhi over BITS Pilani for my studies.
I would recommend you choose Electrical Engineering at IIT Delhi over CSE at BITS Pilani because of these reasons:
- Brand Value: IIT Delhi carries the prestigious “IIT'' tag which holds more brand value than the “BITS Pilani'' tag. This will become important to you when applying to foreign universities for your higher education.
- Fees: As a government institution, the fees of IIT Delhi is much more affordable as compared to BITS Pilani. This in turn, gives IIT Delhi a higher position in ROI (Return on Investment) because it offers even better placements.

Being a 60 years old institute, BIT has an alumni network spread globally at Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon. One of the alumni even won Oscars recently for the best-animated movie.
BIT has great records in ICPC contests. The campus is amazing. Seniors are very helpful. The campus is ragging-free and poses an amazing infrastructure. IET, IEEE, ACM conducts various free workshops to enhance the skills of students.
MANIT Bhopal has an edge over BIT Mesra in terms of tuition fees. NITs are even regarded highly in terms of their brand name. This is the reason why BIT has a higher cutoff compared to NITs.

If you plan for higher studies and if the brand name bothers you, opt NIT Bhopal. Or else BIT Mesra is better in most of the parameters.
Is it really worth it to do CSE for a B.Tech from Bharath University?
No, as per my sister’s personal experience the placement reports are completely fake and only 20% of the students are recruited in very low-level industry packages. The campus remains closed for many months every year due to the strikes and fights on the campus.
These are the few problems faced by students frequently that hinder their growth and destroy the study environment due to which students cannot even concentrate completely on their curriculum.
Try to abstain from getting admission to Bharath University for any of the courses. Develop your overall personality by getting admission into some other decent college.
How is computer science at IIIT Guwahati?
IIIT Guwahati offers a great Computer Science program. You will be studying core subjects such as Computer Organization, Data Structures, Electrical Circuit Analysis, etc. from the first year itself. The evaluation process is through. You can’t mug up the syllabus to score better.
IIIT Guwahati placements are great. According to the highlights of 2021 placements, the average CTC offered was INR 11.59 LPA. The highest CTC offered was INR 32 LPA. Students start getting internship offers from the first year itself.
What should I prefer: IT at IIIT Allahabad or CS at NIT Jalandhar?
You should prefer IT at IIIT Allahabad. It has a better placement record, coding culture, and peer group. IIIT Allahabad also has a better industry reach compared to NIT Jalandhar. Industry giants such as Facebook, Google, etc. take part in the placement drive. During IIIT Allahabad placements in 2022, 100% of students got placed. The highest CTC offered this year was INR 1.4 CPA.
Which is better, CSE at Nirma University or at IIIT Vadodara?
CSE at IIIT Vadodara is definitely a better option than CSE at Nirma University.
- Nirma University offers Computer Engineering while IIT Vadodara offers CSE which draws a fine line of difference for the CSE aspirants.
- IIIT Vadodara provides a distinguished course and curriculum. Students in other colleges are exposed only to mainstream engineering subjects. In contrast to them, IIIT Vadodara is parallel to that of IIIT-H, offering core courses from the beginning of the first year itself.
- IIIT-V provides students with an exceptional background in coding which is not likely presented at Nirma. Students take part in competitive coding on sites such as HackerRank, CodeChef, etc. Each year several students get selected for GSoC from IIIT-V.
- The faculty here is highly qualified with most of the professors holding Ph.D. degrees from renowned institutes. They are cooperative and provide proper guidance to the students. Daiict is the mentor institute of IIIT Vadodara. Many faculties pay their visit from Daiict.
- The placement opportunities are decent at IIIT-V. Students get internship opportunities from Atos, TCS, etc.
- In spite of not owning a permanent campus, the facilities provided at IIIT-V are satisfactory. The basic requirements such as proper AC labs and classrooms are fulfilled here.
- IIIT-V is known for conducting regular technical workshops.
- The hostel facilities at IIIT-V are better in comparison to other colleges.
- More importance is given to academics due to which co-curricular activities are few.
The ‘IIIT’ tag has influence therefore opting for IIIT Vadodara would be better than opting for Nirma University.
Which is better CSE in Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology or IT in Heritage institute of technology?

I don’t need to even think twice before saying that IIT Dhanbad CSE is a far better option than Thapar CSE. The former is funded by the central government thereby offering an excellent academic background and opportunities. IIT Dhanbad has a beautiful campus and a vibrant campus life.
