One of my friends is a student of the Acharya Institute of Technology. The Freshers’ Day at the Acharya Institute of Technology is more or less like a seminar. On that day, B.M. Reddy gives a speech to the students and their parents.

After the speech concludes, mementos are given to the students who are rank holders in VTU. A lunch coupon is given after that.

Some of his seniors performed on stage on that day. They were good performances. Some of my senior’s peers were called up on stage for performing some tasks. After lunch, Mr. and Ms. Fresher were decided on the basis of their performances of the tasks they were given.

From what my friend has told me, Freshers’ Day at Acharya Institute of Technology was a lot of fun.

REVA University is ranked 4th in the emerging Business Schools in India by Times B-School Annual Ranking 2019. It is listed among the top 50 business schools in India. It is ranked 201 by NIRF 2020 in the engineering category.

CMRIT is affiliated to VTU Belgaum and recognized by AICTE and NBA. It has recently placed 1,767 students in top and well-reputed companies with a salary package of INR 3.5 to 4.8 LPA. They have a student intake of 960 in UG and 102 in PG.

Acharya Institute of Technology (AIT) is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi with a faculty strength of 300 members. The student population is 4,432 across all the departments.

REVA University 

• Their placement cell has a tie up with more than 300 recruiting partners.
• More than 1800 offers were made.
• The top recruiting companies include nVIDIA, Deloitte, Capgemini, IBM, Infosys, Goldman Sachs, etc.

CMRIT

• 428 offers were made by 72 participating companies.

• VMWare was the star recruiter.
• The top recruiting companies include Infosys, IBM, TCS, DST, Texas Instruments, Dell, Philips, Berger, Sunrise Systems, Eureka Forbes, HP, Chumbak, Forte, EY, Capgemini, Wipro, etc.

AIT 

• 35 companies visited wherein 194 students were placed.
• The star recruiter was Infosys.
• Other recruiters include Pingala, HSBC, Byju’s, OG Healthcare, TCS, Wipro, HP, etc.

Facilities 

REVA University 

• Their library can accommodate 800 students.
• More than 20 clubs are there for the students recreation and education.
• Students are awarded scholarships for their rank obtained in KCET.
• Students obtaining 85-90% in their board exams are also eligible for scholarships.

CMRIT

• The institute has 89 well furnished classrooms and an auditoriumA library containing 23,000 books.
• The computer lab has 1486 PC’s.
• There are hostel facilities for both boys and girls accommodating 340 students.

AIT 

• They have a student strength of 4423 students across all departments.
• With a campus area of 120 acres, the institute has 12 hostels, 5 for boys 7 for girls accommodating 1500 students all over.
• They also provide sports, medical and library facilities.

All the above 3 colleges are equally good. It ultimately depends on the students, their preferences and also their scores in entrance exams. Based on that the students can choose for their preferred college.

For students in Aeronautical Engineering, there are very limited opportunities in India for graduates. There are several instances in which students, even after interning from top organizations and universities, fail to frame a proper career in Aeronautical Engineering. 

One of my friends graduated from Acharya Institute of Technology in Aeronautical Engineering, and he was considered to be the topper of the batch. He did a paid internship from Canada, which was organized by the college itself. He went to several renowned places like Bombardier’s engine manufacturing unit, etc during the internship period of 3 months. Even after such an opportunity, he failed to achieve a proper career in Aeronautics. He was a hard-working and skilled candidate but landed in a mechanical designing firm with a low-paying job.

Industry Trends:

• In India, the market in Aeronautics is not yet established properly. Though Aeronautical Engineering is an excellent stream, one must have to be 6-7 years ahead to grasp a proper opportunity.
• The only chances of employment for graduates in Aeronautical Engineering are the Indian Air Force, some moderately operational airline companies with a small number of maintenance staff, and finally, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
• Candidates who have completed master’s degrees from foreign institutes or IITs in Aeronautics have a relatively higher chance of getting jobs. Companies like Boeing India, UTC, Honeywell, Airbus India, Sirkosky, Tata Strategic Defense, etc recruit such candidates.

Course Curriculum:

The curriculum followed in Aeronautical Engineering at Acharya Institute of Technology is old and not proper according to industry needs.

Therefore, although the institute provides training and internships to students in Aeronautical Engineering, there is a lack of demand for such engineers in the market and so it is not a good option.

When talking of Bangalore, it definitely is the IT hub, and starting your career here will definitely give you great exposure when you come from a computer science background. PES, BES, and Acharya Institute are among the top-notch colleges in Bangalore and will definitely add to your career.

Admission:

• KIIT Bhubaneswar does all its admissions via its entrance test named KIITEE.

• MIT Pune admits new students via JEE main / MHT CET/ BITSAT/ VITEEE/ MU OET/PERA CET exams.

• PES Banglore asks for 60% in 10+2 as minimum qualification and rank in PESSAT will be considered to get shortlisted for admission.

• And finally, BMS and Acharya Institue conduct theirs via KCET.

Affiliation:

• People Education Society University (PES) and Bharat Education Society University (BES) are both autonomous colleges that set up high standards for the universities and the students applying for it have to go through internal exams to get in.

• Acharya Institute of Technology is affiliated to VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University) and approved by the AICTE. Acharya is also accredited by the NBA (National Board of Accreditation).

Campus:

All three institutes reside in the city of Bangalore; it will be a great opportunity for the locals as they have good options in picking up the college which provides exposure with people from across the country.

If we speak of universities outside Bangalore, then there are few colleges one can consider to move forward with where MIT Pune and KIIT Bhubaneswar are in the limelight. There isn't much to distinguish among the college infrastructure and fees. The crowd in both the universities comes from diligent areas as well as the faculty is well proficient in their respective fields.

Placements:

• The placement offers of both these universities (PES and BES) are up to the mark, making no significant difference. The average CTC offered for a PES student is around 6.8 LPA.

• Amazon, LT&T, Deloitte, Cisco, and Capgemini are the top recruits for PES Banglore. Microsoft, HP, and LG are the frequent recruiters of BMS Banglore. The other colleges on the list have mass recruiters like Infosys, Wipro, and TCS.

• If looking for a calm environment, one can pick up KIIT over MIT; but as Pune does provide better opportunities than Bhubaneswar, MIT wins over.

With a lot of options in hand, it’s natural if a student gets confused picking up the perfect college. Well, it’s always the person who has to strive in the environment and thus have to make decisions accordingly.

BMS Institute of Technology and Management (BMSIT) is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. It is ranked 169 for BTech by NIRF 2020. It is set by BMS Educational Trust and is recognized by AICTE and NBA. They have 162 faculty members. 

Acharya Institute of Technology (AIT) is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi with a faculty strength of 300 members. The student population is 4,432 across all the departments. It is an autonomous institution recognized by UGC and AICTE.

• 91 companies participated in the placement program.
• 430 offers were made wherein a total of 345 students were placed.
• The top recruiting companies include Reliance, Byju’s, Wipro, Capgemini, Dell, Fidelity, L&T, MindTree, Mu Sigma, etc.
• Students opting for Telecommunication Engineering can work as Electronic and Telecommunication Engineer, Accounts Executive, Telecom Engineer, Software Engineer, Telecom Security Engineer and many more.

AIT 

• 35 companies visited the campus wherein 194 students were placed.
• Some of the recruiters include Infosys, Pingala, HSBC, Byju’s, OG Healthcare, TCS, Wipro, HP, etc.
• CSE graduates can work as System Database Administrator, Computer Programmer, Engineering Support Specialist, Software Developer, Software Engineer, Lecturer or Professor, Computer Operator, Research Analyst, etc.

Facilities 

BMSIT 

• They have a student strength of more than 3206 students.
• They provide separate boys and girls hostels.
• Their food court can accomodate 200 students at a time.
• They provide transportation services and indoor and outdoor sports facilities.

AIT

• They have a student strength of 4423 students across all departments.
• Their campus area is 120 acres.
• They have 12 hostels, 5 for boys 7 for girls accommodating 1500 students all over.
• They have 1175 computers in total.
• They also provide sports, medical and library facilities.

CSE will be a better choice than Telecommunication Engineering because there is a constant demand for computer engineers in today’s rapidly growing corporate industry. CSE is the most in demand engineering course. Due to its scope and popularity it is better to choose CSE for moving your career ahead. But students interested in pursuing Telecommunication Engineering can always go for that.

The CSE department at the Acharya Institute of Technology, Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology and NMAMIT have placement rates of 49%-100% with 60-70% entrance of core companies. Admission to these institutes can be made with KCET or COMED-K scores.

Students aiming to apply to AIT, NMAMIT, or Dr Ambedkar's CSE must have 10+2 with 45-50% marks along with KCET score for all three colleges.

• Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology has seen about 46% of recruitment by Amazon being the highest percentage of 2019. The highest package offered is 11 LPA. Another major recruiter with Ambedkar Institute is TCS.
• Acharya Institute of Technology's CSE department saw 80%-85% placement for the 2020 batch from the final year of 145 students. In 2019, the highest package offered by MuSigma Business Solutions ltd was INR 21 LPA.
• NMAMIT's CSE department saw 100% placement with international recruitments by Nutanix, Nissan Kiko, Yupiteru etc.

Special facts about the curriculum:

• The curriculum of NMAMIT and Dr Ambedkar Institute of Technology is lesser due to its autonomous status and revision of syllabus every four years.
• Students willing to get placed at NMAMIT CSE should have a CGPA of 8.25 without any backlogs with 70% and above in 10th and 12th levels to be recruited by Infosys, Accenture, TCS, Cognizant, Robosoft or Tech Mahindra at an average Package of INR 3.6 LPA.

Faculty and Infrastructure:

• AIT infrastructure includes a 10,000 seater stadium; a 36,000 sq ft Acharya Learning Resource Centre, and smart classrooms; NMAMIT has the 5000 seater Sadanand Hall.
• The average experience of the faculty at Dr Ambedkar Institute of Technology is 16 years- 24 years and have presented more than 30 papers as a department.

Chandigarh University is one of the finest and the best universities in India for CSE. The university ranks 3rd among the top universities in Chandigarh by NIRF 2020. The CSE department bagged the highest package from other departments. The institute has also emerged as one of the top universities in terms of placement in 2019-20.

The department of CSE at Acharya Institute of Technology is the most popular in terms of placements. The university consists of a large and diverse faculty of 306 highly qualified members.

Admission process:

Chandigarh University

• A minimum of 50% marks with physics, maths, and chemistry/biotechnology/computer science/biology.
• The admissions will be based on the marks secured in the CUCET conducted by the university. 
• The number of seats available is 60.
• The course fee required is INR 6.4 LPA. 

Acharya Institute of Technology

• The essential qualification for admission is 45% aggregate marks in 10+2 with a science stream from a recognized board. 
• The selection of the candidates is based on the KCET scores.
• The cutoff required is 10714.
• The total fees required is INR 8.56 LPA.

Placements:

The students of Chandigarh University bagged 1000+ offers from 150 multinational companies in 2019. The university witnessed an increase of 20% hike in the number of recruiters and the average salary offered in 2019.

Many good companies visit the campus of Acharya Institute of Technology and 50% of the students get placed. The students get an average package of INR 3-4 LPA. 

The top companies that recruit CSE students are Amazon, Microsoft, Hitachi, HP, Deloitte, Zomato, Flipkart, IBM, Infosys, Oracle, Wipro, Accenture, etc. 

Facilities:

• There are more than 1.2 lakh books in the central library of Chandigarh University along with 85000 journals. 
• Chandigarh University promotes all types of sport activities and encourages the students for the participation in various sports events.
• The hostels of Acharya Institute of Technology comprises a total of 1500 students.

Chandigarh University is the best place to pursue CSE. It also has a name in the “Limca Book of Record” for providing the best placements for the CSE department. The infrastructure is also good, along with a ragging free campus. Overall, Chandigarh University is ideal for engineering.

Acharya Institute of Technology's Aeronautical Engineering program has an 80% internship ratio according to the 2020 data. More than 70% students have been placed with HAL and NAL. The lowest salary offered in 2019 was around INR 2 LPA.

Admission process:

• For AIT Aeronautical Engineering, students should have a minimum aggregate of 45% in 10+2 or a Pre University course. Additional criteria include KCET counseling with a cutoff between 10619-84614.
• English should be a compulsory subject at 10+2 level along with Physics and Maths with 75%-80% marks. In addition, one must have any one of the following: Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Science.
• Students awaiting results can apply on a provisional basis. But those who have passed from Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) are also not eligible.

Faculty:The Aeronautical Engineering department has 2 senior faculty members SK Maharaja and Manamohan.

Placements:

AIT's Aeronautical Engineering department has a placement rate of 20% which is low as compared to the CSE and IT departments. Although it does have an 80% internship rate. The highest package offered in 2019, has been INR 5 LPA. Here are some features of the Aeronautical Engineering placement status:

• Top recruiters are HAL, NAL, Civil Aviation Department, KPIT Technologies, Larsen and Toubro, Cognizant, Toyota, Wipro, Huawei and Mercedes Benz
• The general average package of an aeronautical engineer is around INR 5.5 LPA and an Average package offered at AIT is around INR 3.36 LPA
• The Aeronautical Engineering offered by IIT Kanpur costs INR 8.27 LPA and helps students get an average salary of INR 15 LPA as compared to AIT's ratio of INR 5 LPA fee to INR 5.5 LPA package

AIT's CSE department saw a 13% rise in placements from 2017-2020, being the highest recruited department with a placement record of 49% which increased from 2018's 37%.
