Which is better CSE from BPIT or IT from MSIT (second shift)?

SK
Subhash Kataria Posted On : June 10th, 2021
Studied at Bhagwan Parshuram Institute of Technology

MSIT is definitely better than BPIT when it comes to computer science engineering. BPIT is not that bad but not as good when compared to MSIT.

Placements at BPIT are getting better each year but MSIT is still leading. The table below should provide you with a better perspective on the same:

College name

Average package

Highest package

Hiring companies

MSIT

INR 4 to 8 LPA

INR 21 LPA

MU Sigma, Jaro Education, Amazon, Google, Ion Trading

BPIT

INR 3.95 LPA

INR 10 LPA

HSBC, BYJU’s, Mavenhive, Hashedin Technologies, Infosys

Overall, there isn’t much difference between the two colleges. If you are planning to pursue your post-graduate studies, the college will probably not matter but your studies definitely will. You should also take into account the distance you might have to travel every day which could play a major role.

My suggestion to you would be to write down the pros and cons of both the colleges and see which matters more. Is it the college name or the college stream?

Should I pursue ECE from MSIT or CS from BPIT?

SR
Sukriti Roy Posted On : May 19th, 2021
Studied ECE at MSIT

Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology (MSIT) and Bhagwan Parshuram Institute of Technology (BPIT) both are private engineering colleges in New Delhi affiliated to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). There is not much of a difference between them in terms of the syllabus of the branches.

Here are some of the things that you should know about the two courses.

Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE):

  • The prerequisite for doing well in this branch is a strong grasp of mathematics.
  • Most of the subjects in this branch are logic-based and if your mathematics is good, then you can easily score and get some good grades.
  • As for placements, core companies almost do not visit any of the two colleges (hardly 1 or 2). However, jobs in the service-based sector are plentiful and you can easily get them on the campus of MSIT with almost no knowledge of ECE.

Computer Science and Engineering (CSE):

  • There is no prerequisite for doing well in CSE at BPIT and you can easily score good grades.
  • Top companies like Amazon, Commvault also visit the campus along with service-based companies such as TCS, Wipro, etc.

2021 Placement Statistics:

Parameters

MSIT

BPIT

Average CTC

4 LPA

3.95 LPA

Highest CTC

13 LPA

10 LPA

Choose a branch according to your strengths and passion. In terms of college, both are almost equal and branches should be the differentiator rather than the college.

How was your first day at Maharaja Surajmal Institute?

YT
Yashi Taneja Posted On : June 11th, 2021
BBA Management, Maharaja Surajmal Institute, New Delhi (2017),

Most of my friends have studied here at Maharaja Surajmal Institute and they were not very happy with the college. Following points are based on their experience:

  • The first day is usually very average and you might face difficulty in getting to the classrooms.
  • There will be an introduction session and usually most of the students are not very happy to get admission in that college.
  • A documentation process will also take place regarding the submission of fees which will take around 2-3 hours.
  • The crowd at the college is not good and you will find most of them involved in bad habits.
  • The faculties of this college are well experienced and qualified. They will help you in getting a lot of knowledge.
  • There is a compulsory rule of having 75% attendance in every semester and you may get failed if your attendance falls below 65%.

The students of this college and the seniors are quite helpful and friendly. You will not be getting any grooming sessions and personality development sessions in this college.

Overall the college is good and time will pass in this college very soon. You will have some beautiful memories of this college and you will enjoy it a lot along with your studies.

Which is better for a BCA: Maharaja Surajmal or VIPS in terms of placement?

KJ
Karuna Jaiswal Posted On : June 2nd, 2021
studied at Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (2018)

According to one of my friends at VIPS, it is much better than Maharaja Surajmal. They both are affiliated with the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). So essentially, the core study structure will be more or less similar at both institutes. But VIPS is known to have a better faculty, infrastructure, and placements.

Your first year at VIPS will go like a breeze with the smooth conduct of academics as well as extra-curricular activities.

GN

IT from MSIT (Maharaja Surajmal) is better. It has a better industry presence, especially in NCR. Many reputed companies take part in MSIT placements. Google, MU Sigma, ZS Associates, Jaro Education, Wingify, Infosys, etc. are among the major recruiters. Students receive an average package of around INR 4-5 LPA. The highest CTC goes up to INR 55 LPA.

Is Maharaja Surajmal Institute better than VIPS for pursuing BCA?

SB
Sushrut Bhalla Posted On : June 24th, 2021
Studied at Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies

It is difficult to say if Maharaja Surajmal Institute is any better than VIPS for pursuing BCA as both are not very good institutes. Both are affiliated with the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) so the curriculum followed is almost similar.

As far as faculty goes, both the institutes are equally bad. For VIPS, the faculty, as well as the administration, is so bad that on average the attendance for any class would be around 50%. Class bunks are pretty common and neither the faculty nor the administration cares about it.

Entrepreneurship is a non-existent word in the directory of both colleges. Startups do not get the required attention or importance which they can say proudly. As far as placements, it is also pretty bad in both the colleges and almost similar.

There are only two reasons for choosing VIPS over MSI –

  • VIPS offers air-conditioned classrooms and campus which is helpful in the hot climate of Delhi.
  • The food stalls outside of VIPS are great and would definitely suit your taste buds during your stay at the college.

Apart from that, there are no real reasons or arguments in favor of either them being superior over the other.

Can I get the first shift for BBA at Maharaja Surajmal Institute?

PP
Pablo Patranobish Posted On : May 31st, 2021
Studied at Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology

Maharaja Surajmal institute has one of the best campuses in IPU and the best institute for BBA in IP university. It is one of the top 3 colleges of IPU. I have a few friends at the institute, so I can give you some idea about the course.

With a rank of 2500, you would get in easily in the first counseling itself. With around 55% marks in English in your 12th and a rank of 3000 or below, you should get in the first shift without much problem.

The infrastructure and faculty is average for BBA and the course costs around 2.65 lakhs.

At MSIT (Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology), is the 75% attendance regarded as overall or as per each subject?

HD
Harita Dua Posted On : May 20th, 2021
B. Tech. Information Technology, Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology

75% attendance regarded as overall or as per each subject is not compulsory for MSIT. One of my cousins has attended MSIT and he says many people pass the exams with 10% of attendance and that too getting above-average internal marks.

Yes, your guardian may get a call from the institute for having less than 40% attendance, but if they know that you are studying for the reattempt and not bunking lectures, you should have no problem.

I would like to suggest that you balance your aggregate in between 40-50%, be in the good books of your teachers and lab attendants as your practical marks depend a lot on your lab attendance.

Sometimes, you can play the proxy role but don’t fall into the habit of one.
