I have a few friends from Pune University and here are some of the things that they complain about.
Name: First and foremost, there is the name. The name "Pune University" was well-known in India at a time, but not now. If a student walks into an interview with a degree from "Savitribai Phule Pune University," the interviewer has no idea that this is the same Pune University.
Administrative structure: With a few exceptions, being an Indian university has the same old administrative structure. Every time there is a delay in the examination results and everything else is official. The majority of the staff in all the university's offices are uncooperative.
Official website: It is extremely slow. Almost always, there is a server problem. The library's online portal never opens. Nobody will find the notice of their interest in time because the notices, events, and news section is so poorly maintained.
College campus: Despite being one of the greenest and largest campuses I've ever seen, the vastness overpowers the beauty. There are no proper directional signs. Every new student on campus often gets lost in the campus's maze of roads. If you just want a cup of tea, you'll have to walk for about 10-15 minutes.
Professors: There are very few departments where students are fortunate to have good teachers. Otherwise, the majority of teachers are not very good.
Curriculum: In comparison to other universities, the syllabus is not that good. Universities in West Bengal and Delhi, for example, have a much higher level of curriculum at the graduate and undergraduate levels. As a result, students from these areas outperform Phulites in competitive exams and interviews. In addition, the syllabus is also ill-organized.
These are some of the things that you need to know before choosing Pune University.
What is your review of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU)?
One of my friends recently graduated from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). According to her, it is better to do anything rather than joining this institute. She mentioned some of the reasons that made her feel this way.
- The institute only focuses on making money and not actual education.
- The syllabus and curriculum followed by the institute are outdated.
- Practical training is not properly given, making students lag behind the industry demands.
- Basic things like a proper academic calendar are not provided.
- Re-evaluation is time-consuming and usually not done properly.
- A 60% from SPPU is not considered good enough for admission to other colleges. They do not consider it as first class.
- They are known to have the worst and uncooperative staff members. They are not at all helpful or considerate about any problem.
It is suggested that you do not opt for SPPU as they are highly unprofessional. They do not have a proper way to conduct classes, assemblies, extracurricular activities and get involved in everything half-heartedly. SPPU is a good example of how a university should be not.

Which is better Pune University or Mumbai University?
Both Pune University and Mumbai University are well-esteemed institutions in India imparting superior quality education. - The academic rules are more strict at Pune University and the number of backlogs allowed is also less than at Mumbai University thus maintaining the quality of Education.
- The exams are conducted consequently and little time is given for preparation. This makes it more challenging for the students and prepares them well for the future.
If you genuinely want to understand concepts and create amazing memories along with a lot of struggles, Pune University is for you. If you are looking for a laid-back campus life and a calm learning environment, then Mumbai University is best for you.

- Study hard and get good grades. It will further help you not only in higher studies but placements as well.
- Make sure to go through the syllabus carefully and get an idea of the subjects you will be studying. Observe the distribution of marks. Make a semester-wise plan.
- Maintain your attendance as it will carry a weightage for both Internal and External Assessment
- Think wisely and spend the money because you will be visiting the canteen, and getting loads of photocopies.

Calculating the percentage from your CGPA/SGPA is very simple.
As per the guidelines provided by SPPU(Pune University), you need to multiply your CGPA/SGPA by 8.8.
For example,If your SGPA is 8.5, then, your equivalent percentage is - 8.5 * 8.8 = 74.8%.
How difficult is it to score a distinction at the University of Pune?
It is difficult to score a distinction at University of Pune. Students need to score more than 66%, in order to get a distinction. In the university examination, students score around 60% of the total marks at max. You need to score more than 70% in your practical and internals to maintain an overall 66%.
Though difficult, getting distinction isn’t impossible. Complete your syllabus thoroughly and solve previous years' questions. To get distinction marks, you need to work on your presentation skills too. Try to improve your handwriting.

- Prepare by solving at least 6 previous years' papers. It will cover most of the important questions.
- Focus on the 6th unit by using the same approach. This will guarantee you about 32 marks.
Choose a unit from 1st or 2nd. If formulas are your thing, choose the 1st unit or else go for the 2nd one. Now you’re prepared to get almost 37 marks. Prepare thoroughly and, you might get at least 30 marks in theoretical stuff.
