Which is a better option college for CSE or IT - VIT Vellore or IIIT Allahabad?
Considering this question, the first thing that can be highlighted is that both of these institutes cannot be compared at all. However, studying IT in IIIT Allahabad is far better as it offers several opportunities, as well as institutional environment and infrastructure to assist the student in their career growth appropriately.
However, CSE at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is not so secure considering the programming prospects and study culture that the student will get at IIITA. This choice is easy enough for the student to make as per their career perspectives.

Can VIT Vellore defeat all the NITs and BITS (Goa & Hyderabad) in the coming years?
VIT is an ABET-certified institution that is acclaimed by only a few universities and this itself is a big achievement. But now the situation is not so good and VIT is slowly losing its name and reputation in the industry.
With their current system of conducting exams and a new system of counseling, the quality of its students is drastically decreasing. They are counseling students who are still preparing for JEE Advanced and forcing them to pay even before the results are out.
Due to which most students withdraw their names and this creates a large number of vacancies and they are not allotted on the basis of merit.
Also, the placements of NITs and BITS are excellent compared to VIT and the average packages offered to the students of these colleges are much better than the packages offered to the students of VIT.
Which is better, VIT or Thapar University?
Since I have friends from both VIT and Thapar, I think I can answer this.
Thapar University:
- Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology is an esteemed institute and among the best institutions in the country. It is considered among the best innovation-driven private universities and technical institutes in the country. After BITS Pilani, it has been ranked as the best private institute.
- The admissions here are based on JEE score.
- There is no management quota at Thapar.
- The placement opportunities at Thapar University are tremendous. The average package at Thapar ranges around 6.7 LPA.
- The faculties at Thapar are great. You will get to learn both practical and theoretical aspects of subjects. The students are exposed to various internship opportunities as well.
VIT:
VIT Vellore is yet to be at par with Thapar University. Since VIT takes in a huge number of students, the placement quality is declining over the years. The average package at VIT is around 2-3 LPA.
Unless VIT Vellore is closest to your place do not opt for it. Thapar University is better in comparison to VIT Vellore. Hence, go for TU without any hesitation.
Which is better, VIT ECE or NIT Trichy?
Between these two options, NIT Trichy is definitely better. Here are the reasons why.
- For the last several years, NIT Trichy is the best NIT in the country. It is consistently ranked among the top engineering colleges in the country. NIRF 2021 has ranked the institutes 9th for B.Tech.
- The 5 old IITs and BITS Pilani are the only institutes that are ranked above NIT Trichy.
- NIT Trichy requires the highest cutoff in JEE Mains.
- According to the NIT Trichy placement report of 2020, the average CTC offered to students is INR 6.5 LPA. While the highest CTC offered is INR 42 LPA.
According to teaching, infrastructure, facilities, and campus life, NIT Trichy is definitely better than VIT.
Which institute is better, VIT, vellore or Nit Jalandhar?
In most cases, you can find decent placement in core companies at VIT, Vellore. College life is fantastic if you have great companions. You have plenty of free time and opportunities to grow, but it is up to you to take the initiative.
Whereas NIT Jalandhar allows you to customize the courses you want to study each semester with some limitations. Students are given less autonomy. Go for it if you can get a core branch in VIT, Vellore. After graduation, you can have a good placement and brand value.
How is IIITM Gwalior IT compared to VIT Vellore CSE?
IIITM Gwalior IT is better than VIT Vellore CSE. It has a better course structure. Students get to learn the core subjects from the first year itself. IIITM Gwalior placements are also better.
According to IIITM Gwalior placement highlights, around 85% of students from the IT branch get placed each year. The salary packages offered are in the range of INR 10 LPA - 42 LPA. Facebook, Amazon, Flipkart, etc. are among the major recruiters that take part in the placement drive.
What should I prefer Heritage Institute of Technology or VIT?
Honestly, this is not even a comparison. VIT (any campus) is way better than Heritage Institute of Technology. Actually, Heritage Institute of Technology is not even the best college in the Kolkata region. It is the Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM).
Heritage Institute of Technology is obviously cheaper than VIT to study and also closer to your home if you are from the eastern region of India. You will get a job after graduating with a starting salary of around INR 3.5 lakhs per annum. If you have financial constraints and you are ok with this kind of starting salary then Heritage Institute of Technology will not disappoint you.
However, if you are well enough to pay for the fee of VIT, then in no way you should even think of Heritage Institute of Technology. The environment you will get there are obviously the placements of VIT are way better than Heritage Institute of Technology to even consider them for comparison.
Should I take up CSE at VIT, Vellore or any branch in BITS Goa?
If you are interested in CSE, choose VIT. It has a good computer science branch with a decent placement record. The salary packages offered for the branch ranges between INR 5-48 LPA. Students are usually recruited as software developers and web developers. TCS, Wipro, and Microsoft are among the major recruiters that frequent the placement drive.
Which one is the best VIT or Anna University?
VIT Vellore is better. It is among the top engineering colleges in the region. It has a wonderful campus, good infrastructure, and a decent placement record. The departmental laboratories are well-equipped with rare equipment such as AFM, STEM, XRD, etc. VIT has a digital library with a huge collection.
The highest CTC offered during VIT Vellore placements 2022 was INR 75 LPA. Paypal, DE Shaw, and Dyte were some of the major recruiters to take part in the placement drive. The placements are especially good for branches such as CS, ECE, IT, Mechanical, etc.
Is the BITS Pilani Dubai campus better than VIT Vellore?
Each University has its own merits and BITS Pilani is well acclaimed globally and a lot of universities abroad see it as highly popular. Students from BITS are given good opportunities.
- Recently, it ranked #96 among BRICS Nations and has been ranked by the world ranking agency QS World Ranking.
- It doesn't matter whether you study in Pilani or Dubai campus because you will be awarded a BITS Pilani degree only.
- The intake per year also varies in both these universities. According to data, VIT enrolls about 8,000-9,000 students per annum; on the other hand, if you compare, BITS enrolls only or less than 2100 students every year. This is important because it shows how BITS takes care of the quality of students, whereas VIT simply focuses on gathering a huge crowd.
- Besides being an international campus, BITS Dubai can make you feel at home only because the crowd will be Asian only.
- The teacher-to-student ratio at BITS Dubai is 1:15 but at VIT it is 1:25. You can gauge that one professor handles how many students at a time. It helps in improving a bond with your professor which in turn helps you in your career.
Both institutes have a good rate of 96-100% placements and the average package at VIT is about INR 5.4 LPA whereas at BITS it is about INR 11.2 LPA. After this quick overview, I hope you will be able to choose the best college for yourself.
