Anuj Sharma Posted On : October 21st, 2021
Studied Law at Himachal Pradesh University Shimla

Shimla is one of the best places in India. HPU Shimla is situated in the beautiful hills of Shimla. A senior of mine who attended HPU, says that life at HPU Shimla is good. Every facility is given to the students at HPU Shimla.

  • HPU Shimla has excellent faculty in every department and also most of them have received a Ph.D. degree in their respective fields.
  • The seniors here are also helpful and supportive.
  • HPU Shimla has a lovely hostel as well overlooking the hills and the valleys.
  • HPU Shimla conducts several cultural festivities and events. It has got a large auditorium where the events and functions are held.

Life at HPU Shimla will be pretty amazing. It is better to stay away from politics and just enjoy college life and the academics in the university.

How was your first day at IIM Indore IPM?

VP
Vedika Pandey Posted On : January 12th, 2023
Studied Integrated Programme in Management, IIM Indore (Graduated 2022)

Here is the experience of one of the IPM students of IIM Indore.

She completed some paperwork and a brief registration process as soon as she arrived at the campus and Hostel Reception Center, after which she was given her temporary identity card, room key, etc. She also completed the course registration and other paperwork later that day.

The following two days of Induction were when the real action began.

On the second day, she and her friends hurried to the auditorium after hearing an introduction to the faculty, information about IGNOU, and the format of the IPM course. The remaining three days of the induction passed slowly. Despite the fact that students were involved and there were actual activities.

You are prepared for life at IIM, which is tedious and enjoyable but irregularly busy, during the 7-hour continuous induction.

Studied at Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat

Here are a few hangout places outside of the SVNIT campus, other than malls-

  • The Fish Aquarium at Pal Hazira Road- The aquarium has a large variety of fascinating aquatic life. It is set up like the inside of a real ship, so its architecture is really unique. One of the many attractions is the fishes that have a Neon coloured glow.
  • Neera Vechaan Kendra- Neera is sweet and cool palm nectar. It can be consumed early in the morning only, but refrigeration makes the sale possible till 2 pm. The distribution center for it is located in Chowk Bazaar area.
  • Dotiwala's bakery, Ghod Dod Road- This bakery was established by the Dutch upon their arrival in India. It is well known for its butter biscuits, cakes, pastries, confectioneries and puffs. You must visit the place soon.
  • Narmad Library, Athwa- It is the largest library in Gujarat, and is located very close to the campus.
  • You must also visit one of the textile mills or textile trade centers to see for yourself what gives Surat an important position in the global maps. If you get the permission, do visit one of the diamondaries as well.

These are some of the places which you can visit in Surat on weekends, and experience something new.

How is the hostel and campus life for first year students at MNIT Jaipur as compared to MNNIT Allahabad?

AV
Anuj Verma Posted On : April 30th, 2021
Worked at Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur

Hostel and campus life are subjective things that will vary between individuals; there is no metric to comparatively quantify the same. I can give you some idea about the hostel and campus life at MNIT Jaipur and MNNIT Allahabad based on what I heard from my friends at the institutes.

Comparison:

  • Location: This is the best thing about MNIT Jaipur as it is located in the best locale of Jaipur, Malviya Nagar. This is one of the most happening places in the city and you would enjoy proper city life. In comparison Allahabad is a smaller and more old school town, so you may not enjoy proper city life. But then, this is subjective of course.
  • Campus: You will get uninterrupted fast internet access. The campus has 9 boys hostels and 3 girls hostels. There is one mega boy’s hostel with 1000 bad capacity and one mega girl’s hostel with 600 beds capacity. All others are medium-sized (200-300 student capacity). In the first year, students share with two or four other students in their rooms. After that single rooms are allotted.
  • Weather: The climate of Jaipur is harsh and hot most of the time. Allahabad, being in the plains, should have a comparatively pleasant climate.
  • Food: The mess food at MNIT Jaipur is tasteless and pathetic.
  • Other facilities: The computer center of MNIT Jaipur is really very good and is of a very high standard.

Based on what I heard from my friends at these two institutions, it seems that MNIT Jaipur offers a better hostel and campus life.

How is life in the 1st year at Haldia Institute of Technology?

RK
Rohan Kumar Posted On : September 22nd, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science Engineering, Haldia Institute of Technology (2020)

Based on the experiences of my friends, the first year is the best year of college at Haldia Institute of Technology.

  • Students interact with one another and make new friends from different regions and cultures.
  • The students engage with seniors and the members of the faculty.
  • The first years tend to explore every nook and corner of the campus.
  • The weather is extremely pleasant and comfortable.
  • There are few places you can visit during your spare time. Some of these places include the riverside, theatres, malls, etc.
  • The seniors are very helpful to the first-year students. They are always ready to assist the freshers in case of any query.

I would suggest that you communicate with them and make connections as they can prove to be beneficial for your career or life as a whole later. They can guide you later during exams and placements.

SP
Shruti Pathak Posted On : June 29th, 2021
Studies at Indian Institute of Information Technology, Vadodara (2022)

According to the experience of one of my friends who studied at IIIT Vadodara, the college is working under the temporary campus of GEC, Gandhi Nagar.

  • The infrastructure is not as welcoming as any other college having a permanent campus.
  • The academics in IIIT Vadodara is mostly industry-oriented with a bunch of qualified faculty members who prepare students for facing their professional front in the future.
  • The fests at IIIT Vadodara are increasing day by day. These fests are known across the country for the diversity of students that they witness which helps to interact with students of the same interest.
  • Many prestigious companies take part in placement drives that normally give chances to students to get placed.

According to the recent placement report, we can summarize the data as shown below:

Total numbers of offers made

102

Top recruiters

Amazon, Mathworks, ICICI Bank

Highest CTC

INR 43.5 LPA

Average CTC

INR 13 LPA

Thus we can conclude that, though the infrastructure of the college is not very welcoming to the students but provides quality education along with the overall development and placement facilities.
