How do I prepare for IIM, Indore IPM on my drop year?

TR
Tirtha Raj Posted On : August 28th, 2021
B. E. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Savitribai Phule Pune University (2019)

It is preferable if you enroll in any educational coaching institution because you are taking a drop year, especially for IPM preparation. This is because for IPM, students have to give a PI and an Aptitude Test.

  • The classes would be well-versed in giving CAT and IPMAT foundation courses which can be considered an additional benefit.
  • Also, you will not be familiar with the format of IPMAT unless you attempt a mock test before the final exam.
  • IPMAT is online, there won't be any previous year question bank, therefore the mock tests will offer you an advantage and also assist you for the PI round involved in the selection process.
  • For the Quantitative aptitude section, I would suggest that you refer to NCERT questions (Classes 11th and 12th) and several competitive examinations questions..
  • For the verbal aptitude test, You should focus on improving your basic grammar, reading books, and improving your vocabulary.

Lastly, as I have seen my friends prepare and do well in exams, I will encourage you to do the same. Be confident while giving your answers and attend the PI with complete honesty.

Is IPM - IIM Indore worth trying?

IB
Indrani Banerjee Posted On : August 28th, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Indore

One of my friends graduated from IIM Indore and according to him, it's worth trying as it provides an opportunity to get admission to IIM Indore, one of India’s top educational institutes.

  • The placement of IPM is also similar to PGP candidates so you don't have to worry about the placement. In the 2021 placement, the average and highest CTC offered were 23 LPA and 56 LPA.
  • You will also get the opportunity to study from some of the best professors in the country.
  • The admission test for IPM is not that hard. If you go through last year’s question paper, you will find basic questions from the syllabus of 10+2. While CAT is a lot more competitive.

IPM from IIM Indore is a decent program with good faculty and placement opportunities, so you should opt for it, given the option.

Is it a right decision to join IIM indore for integrated MBA after plus2?

MK
Mukesh Kumar Posted On : August 20th, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India (2019)

The integrated MBA program at IIM Indore or as the name goes, the IPM program would be the best option to go for if you are not interested in the technological field or any other field and you want to start your own business or get placed at a good company in the field of management.

If some other field of study interests you then I would suggest you go for the same and not for the IPM program and regret it later.

As far as the placements are concerned, even though I do not know much about it, I am pretty sure you will get placed with a good company and IIM Indore is a reputed B-school.

Is there any pressure in studying at IPM IIM Indore?

MR
Mittali Rawat Posted On : August 31st, 2021
MBA from Indian Institute of Planning and Management

Management courses at IIM Indore are taught throughout semesters. In each semester you will have subjects taught via case studies or group presentations or role-plays. It can be difficult if you are not good at communication.

But there are elements that provide fun as well that will help you try to improve your personality, and your communication skills get better, that's when your confidence will improve. To be honest, there's no other degree that can make such a huge impact on your life more than an MBA degree.

Be mindful of the curriculum because it may seem intimidating but is not as tough as it seems, what makes it difficult is the deadlines for assignments, but once you cross this hurdle you'll be in a world full of opportunities and growth.

Is it hard to survive IPM IIM Indore for someone who's not good in maths?

HJ
Hritik Juneja Posted On : August 31st, 2021
Studies Integrated Programme in Management, IIM Indore (2022)

If you have studied Maths till 12th, it cannot be counted as an advantage as it usually fades off after a month of classes and tests. The CBSE/ICSE + JEE type of Maths that you have studied in your school is useless, unfortunately, because it does not have any use here and offers no advantage whatsoever.

Math is definitely very important if you go through the IPM curriculum because of its correlation with subjects like Economics and Statistics which require you to face some number crunching. You will have to put a little effort during the first couple of months or so just as the non-math students do. It will be fruitful because even they score full marks in Math.

You just have to deal with your Math anxiety. Get over it by making math fun and not scary and IPM will feel like a dream.
