Is it worth joining mining in NIT Raipur, which I got in 3rd round, in terms of placement?

AM

B.Tech from National Institute of Technology, Raipur

Given your rank of 2900, it would be very difficult to get CSE in these colleges. So you need a lot of luck during the Spot Counseling. If anyone withdraws their admission at the last moment from the CSE branch of these colleges then you might get admission.

There are chances of getting a seat in MSIT or BVCoE, but it is very difficult in MAIT. Here are the recent cutoff trends of both MAIT and BVCoE

MAIT Cutoff 2022

IPU-CET

Although the chances of getting CSE are low, you might get EEE with this rank. You can upgrade your branch to CSE by working hard.

SG
Sanjeev Ghosh Posted On : March 20th, 2023
Studied Post Graduate Diploma in Management at T. A. Pai Management Institute

The flagship PGDM program at TAPMI is highly regarded and could be a good option for you. It has been accredited by both AMBA and AACSB, two of the most prestigious international accreditations. TAPMI is also ranked among the top private business schools in India.

The PGDM program at TAPMI is designed to help you develop leadership skills through value creation. This includes enhancing your functional skills and being able to take initiative under uncertainty, with minimal guidance and supervision. You'll also learn how to persist in unfamiliar contexts and collaborate effectively with others. Additionally, the program emphasizes the importance of clear communication, listening to feedback (even when it contradicts your own views), and understanding the need to contribute beyond personal goals and achievements. You'll also learn how to reflect on your decisions, avoiding the short-termism that can often lead to poor outcomes.

If you choose to attend TAPMI, you'll have the opportunity to work with some of the most well-known companies in India. In fact, key recruiters in TAPMI Placements 2022 included Deloitte, TITAN, ITC, HP, Nestlé India Limited, Capgemini, GEP Worldwide, J. P. This means that you'll have a wide range of potential employers to choose from after completing your degree. So yes, all the placement reports are really true.

Placements at PDPU are really good, as a lot of reputed companies take part in their placement program. They offer proper industrial exposure through internships and industry visits.

Petroleum Engineering and Technology students usually receive the highest salary package compared to other branches.

Once, ONGC had recruited around 15–20 Petroleum Engineers with a package of around 14–15 LPA. If you compare the average salary package, Petroleum engineers get a package of around 5–6 LPA.

Categories Petroleum Engineering at PDPU
Course Fee INR 9.73 lakh

Average CTC 8 LPA

Can I get some honest reviews regarding IBS Pune's placements?

JN
Jhanvi Nair Posted On : March 23rd, 2021
MBA from ICFAI Business School, Pune (2019)

Here’s presenting some of the honest facts by one of my friends, a student of IBS Pune. In the batch year 2015-17, the class strength was about 250 and that of the junior classes was 450. The institute tries hard to get their students placed in the placements. But it all depends on the individual, their performance in their placement interviews.

IBS does not guarantee any placement. They just provide assistance.

  • IBS Pune offers MBA/PGDM in specialization such as HR, Marketing, Operations and Finance.
  • Most of the placement jobs are of Marketing and Sales.
  • It also offers International placements but they are limited. Only 3-4 companies from UAE and Africa visit the campus for placements.
  • Some of the international companies that visit the campus are Link Middle East(Dubai), Khimji Ramdas (Oman), Satguru Travels (Africa), etc.

Categories

ISB Pune

Average CTC (Domestic)

4-6 LPA

International CTC Offered

9-15 LPA

Recruiting Companies (Domestic)

ICICI, HDFC, Axis Bank, Allied analytics, Global DATA, TATA AIG, TATA Technology, TCS, ITC, Odessa Tech., Amazon, etc.

IBS Pune is better than most of the other colleges in Pune in terms of placement. If the student is open to marketing jobs, then IBS Pune is one of the best options.

How is it that IIIT Bangalore has much better placements than the CSE department of most of the top 10 NITs and still the cutoff is 8500? I mean it has a median salary of 15.9LPA then why so?

Namrata Das Posted On : October 10th, 2023

First, let us discuss some reasons for the high placement records of IIIT Bangalore CSE department-

  1. IIIT Bangalore does not believe in the system of mugging before an exam and filling out the answer sheets.
  2. The curriculum is updated every few years, and assignments and projects are an important part of all courses.
  3. Unlike the NITs, IIITB won’t make you study irrelevant subjects in your first year. You’ll study only the subjects relevant to your CSE degree from the beginning itself.
  4. You’ll learn basic CS in the first few semesters. The rest of the semesters will be utilized in teaching you advanced topics like ML, AI, CV, NLP, etc.

Now the reasons for low cutoffs, despite high placements are-

  1. It is a public-private co-owned college. This is why its fees are much higher in comparison to NITs.
  2. The admissions are completely merit-based. This increases the availability of seats.
  3. There can be a huge rank difference between the second last admission, and the last admission. So one should not judge the merit of a college based on its cutoff ranks.
  4. IIITs are comparatively new in this race. Even then, they are growing at a tremendous speed.
  5. IIITB offers limited courses. It offers iM.Tech instead of B.Tech.

These are the reasons why iM.Tech CSE cutoffs are so low at IIIT Bangalore, while their placement records are better than even top NITs.

SR
Sauvik Roy Posted On : August 20th, 2021
MBA from Indian Institute of Management Rohtak (2019)

My friend belonged to the first graduating batch of IPM participants. Currently, he is well placed in a reputed company. Here are a few insights you need to know according to his experience back then.

  • Most of his batchmates bagged offers from pioneer recruiters like Credit Suisse, Deloitte, Nomura, JP Morgan, HDFC, IndusInd Bank, IBM, ICRA Management Consulting, Tata Sky, UAE Exchange, etc.
  • The batch received good feedback from the recruiters in the first placement season of IPM that was highly encouraging. A leading credit rating agency remarked, “We found the candidates to have a good understanding of concepts and confidence to face the demand of the corporate world.”
  • Most of the students were offered a finance role with the average salary package being 11.96 LPA, including International offers such as EA to CFO & MD by a leading international foreign exchange company.

Overall, the placement record for the first batch of IPM was surprisingly great. With an average package of 11 LPA and the highest package of about 30 LPA, IPM of IIM was a huge success.

Are dasa students at nit trichy eligible for on campus placement?

AM
Aditya Mishra Posted On : September 1st, 2021
B.Tech. from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India (2017)

Yes, they are eligible and they are known to get offered good packages. According to some of my friends at NIT Trichy, some companies, especially MNCs which are expanded throughout different continents tend to prefer these students over others, if you're competing against them in the final interview.

  • Their exposure to different country backgrounds and openness to move around the globe for education represent them as suitable candidates for MNCs.
  • They are also often better at communication as well.
  • These qualities make them a good hire for companies, as they can easily adapt.
  • For the Indian students, you should not be surprised to see some of your NRI friends getting placed unexpectedly into some of the best companies.

So if you're a DASA candidate in NIT Trichy then be assured that you'll get the best shots to convert in campus provided you get to the final round on your caliber.

How is the placement scenario at IIT Kanpur?

SN
Saugata Nayak Posted On : April 19th, 2023
Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (2020)

Placements play an important role in one’s career and most of the time an institute's worth and credibility are judged on the basis of the same. IIT Kanpur maintains an am excellent placement scenario which has been explained further in detail

Department Wise:

  • Computer Science, Electrical and Mathematics & Computing (CEM): The branches are the most preferred by companies with CS placement being 100% while Electrical and Mathematics & Computing have above 95%.
  • Core Branches: Most students tend to go for core jobs because the core opportunities in their branches are scarce. However, IIT Kanpur has many top core companies visiting the campus yearly.
  • Interdisciplinary branches: Some core companies allow students of these branches to sit for placements yet they prefer students from the main department over them.

Course wise

  • B.Tech/BS: The most sought-after students belong to either BTech or BS. Every firm offers enough roles to these students except some core companies that prefer MTech students to BTech students.
  • Dual Degree: The students are open to opportunities offered to both BTech as well as MTech students owing to the nature of their degree
  • M.Tech/MSR/M.Sc: Branches like CSE, Stats, and Design provide good opportunities to MTech students. Some no core and almost all core companies prefer MTech students

Kind of roles:

  • Software: The majority of recruiters are software firms that prefer CEM students or students with food coding skills in general.
  • Core roles: Quite a number of core companies visit
  • Analytics: The number of analytical roles offered has increased due to its increase in demand. Anyone with good analytical skills is open to such roles.
  • Consulting: Many top consulting firms visit the campus and open profiles to B.Tech and Dual degree streams.
  • Product roles: These roles too have seen an increase over the last 2 years.

All in all, the placement scenario at IIT Kanpur is quite good with a plethora of opportunities provided that you are well-prepared and determined.
