Which is better, an IT at GRIET or a CSE at CMRCET?

Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology (GRIET) provided Information Technology (IT) under the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program. GRIET is ranked 37th in all India and 6th in Telangana in ‘India Private Higher Education Rankings 2019-20’ by Education World. CMR College of Engineering & Technology (CMRCET) offers Computer Science & Engineering under B.Tech degree. It is ranked 251 for BTech by NIRF 2020.

Admissions:

  • There are 120 seats available for Information Technology specialization under B.Tech.
  • Students wishing to enroll in either of the courses are required to take the Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) conducted by the State of Telangana.
  • 70% of the seats are based on the rank assessment of EAMCET and the remaining seats are reserved for management quota in both colleges.
  • The annual tuition fee is Rs. 1.22 lakh in GRIET and 1.0 lakh in CMRCET.

Placements:

GRIET-

  • The highest package of GRIET is around 41.6 LPA and the lowest package is approximately 5.05 LPA.

CMRCET-

  • A total of 137 students of the CSE department were offered jobs at CMRCET.
  • The highest package was from Duta Software India Pvt Ltd (10 LPA) and the lowest was 1.80 LPA in CSE, CMRCET.
  • Reliance, Invesco, Infosys, Travel Tripper, Amazon, Zensar, Wipro are some well-known companies that offer placements to students of the CMRCET CSE course.

Choosing which college is better is often challenging. CSE as a course has great scope for programming, developing, networking, and testing in the machine-centric future. IT as a specialization is quite diverse; and job opportunities with network security and data analytics companies as well as government jobs can be easily gained. Which is better, GRIET ECE or MVSR ECE?

GRIET (Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering & Technology) and MVSR (Maturi Venkata Subba Rao Engineering College) both these institutes are good for ECE. NIRF 2020 has ranked GRIET and MVSR at 172 and 251 for BTech.

Admissions:

GRIET -

  • 70% of the seats in B.Tech are allotted on merit basis.

  • Admission is given to ECE branch on the basis of score in the common entrance test (EAMCET).

  • In 2019 the closing cutoff for ECE was 2231.

MVSR - In both the colleges, admission to UG programmes are given on the basis of EAMCET ranking.

  • 70% of the seats are reserved for EAMCET examination under ‘A’ category while 30% for management candidates under ‘B’ category.

  • The closing EAMCET 2019 cutoff for ECE was 3731.

Faculty: The faculties for ECE at both the institute are well-qualified and have years of experience. GRIET ECE has 15 faculties who hold a PhD while the 6 faculties at MVSR ECE department also have doctorate degrees.

Facilities:

GRIET -

  • The ECE departmental laboratory of GRIET is equipped with the best instruments and receives AICTE grants.

  • GRIET also provides the students with facilities like library, water plant, solar water plant, canteen, classrooms and sports area.

MVSR

GRIET -

  • The average CTC received by GRIET ECE students is 5.05 lakhs.

MVSR -

  • At MVSR, ECE 180 students got placement in companies like Hyundai, Capgemini, Cyient, IBM, Modak Analytics and many more.

  • At MVRS ECE, the highest salary package offered to the student was found to be 6 lakh.

Apart from academics, both the institute organizes many events around the academic year. At GRIET, ECE department many events are organised like FDP, webinars, android app development workshops, etc. MVSR ECE has organised events like workshops on water resource systems modelling, FDP on refrigeration & automobile air-conditioning and MIRACLE – 2019.

Both the colleges are good at infrastructure and academics. But GRIET excels in providing one of the best placement opportunities to the students.
