The marks required for getting admission change every year as the level of difficulty also changes each year.
According to some of my friends studying there, CLAT sets a tough paper one year and an easy paper the next year and vice versa. However, this should not be taken for granted.
Do not think of a particular score while attempting CLAT as this will hamper your chances. You should aim to give your best and attempt any number of questions you think are possible on your part.
One of my friends studied at NUJS. According to her, hardships have varied reasons from academics to personal.
Lastly, all the things like hobbies, extra-curricular, etc. disappear. But even after all the hardships, it still is the best time of a student’s life at NLSIU.
NALSAR University of Law is a law university in Hyderabad. It started offering a two-year MBA program in 2013 only. As this is a very new program in the institute, things are not in place completely yet. As some of my friends studied there, here’s what I got to know:
Categories | MBA at NALSAR University |
Course Fee | 6.11 lakh |
Highest CTC | 12 LPA |
Average CTC | 8 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | S&P Global, Colgate, ITC, Jaro Education, etc. |
If your sole intention is placements, then you should give this college a miss as it is still in its early phases.
One of my friends is studying for a Ph.D. from NALSAR. As per her review, life there is busy, especially for youngsters. Classes go on till late, but the evenings are peaceful. The university has a beautiful campus with well-maintained gardens and wide roads. But it is far away from Hyderabad city. However, transport facilities are readily available.
Ph.D. students have hard luck. Being into research, they do not spend much time on campus. They work from remote locations. Overall, campus life is peaceful and ideal for academics.
The answers to such questions vary from person to person. It depends on the perspectives, interests, and goals of the students. Every institute has its share of pros and cons.
Categories | NALSAR | NUJS |
Course Fee | 8.55 lakhs | 1.46 lakhs |
Highest CTC | 23 LPA | 22 LPA |
Average CTC | 14 LPA | 10-12 LPA |
As of 2021, NALSAR is the third law university only beaten by NLU Delhi and NLSIU Bangalore. In the placement drive of 2020, 120 students received placements. The top recruiters were Linklaters LLP, AZB & Partners, L&L Partners, etc.
NUJS Kolkata enjoyed a 100% successful placement drive in 2021. The highest package offered was INR 22 LPA. The students were hired by Khaitan and Co., ICICI, ITC, AZV, etc.
One of my friends studied at NALSAR. According to him, it is one of the most enormous colleges in the field of Law.
The institute is doing really amazing in terms of imparting management education. You will be given enough practical exposure. My friend did 2 live projects and experienced a rigorous academic curriculum.
The median salary reaches up to 8-10 LPA. Companies like Trident and Franklin, Templeton, S&P Global, Playgo, etc. are notable recruiters.

You can ultimately decide what would be the best for you. But it is suggested that you go for CMS NALSAR, as it has been growing significantly. So, choose wisely, keeping all the parameters in mind.
Yes, it is possible to get into a top-rank NLU such as NLSIU, NALSAR or WBNUJS, etc. But this all depends on the strategy you have prepared. There are some CLAT achievers who join for a crash course. They study 8 hours a day rigorously. So, to get the same performance in 1 month is nearly impossible.
So, it is suggested that you join the tuition classes for a crash course and dedicate 8 hours of your time to CLAT preparation. Cracking CLAT will only be possible if you work hard.
Having to know some people studying at both these institutes, I can say for a fact that if you want the original and the true CLAT experience then NALSAR would be the better option. But overall NLU-D is much better. They make the students academically strong and industry-ready.
NLU- D stands out due of several reasons: -
Categories | Nalsar | NLU-D |
Course Fee | 6.11 - 8.55 lakh | 4.28 lakh |
Highest CTC | 10-12 LPA | 10-12 LPA |
Average CTC | 5-7 LPA | 6 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | Byju’s, S&P Global, Deloitte, Colgate, etc. | AZB, Luthra, TTS, etc. |
NLU-D is the better option of the two considering placement, faculty, academics and infrastructure. Both NALSAR and NLU-D are one of the most reputed Law colleges of India. Both the institutes have some advantages and disadvantages when compared to each other. Both of these institutes are highly rated. So choose according to your preferences.
If you want to appear for CLAT, it does not matter what stream you were following in your higher secondary years. CLAT does not check your knowledge about a particular stream but it tests your aptitudes.
The exams tend to be very competitive and they are not as easy as they look. Try to take mock exams and solve the questions of the previous years to get acquainted with the pattern in which the exams are held.
Ragging is something one should not do and not let that happen with others if you see. But, still, there are few cases here and there of ragging but at a minor level, which is not seen anywhere now except a few.
Nowadays, the administration has become noticeably stricter on the subject of senior-junior interaction in the last few years. “Positive Interaction” has become much more positive, instead of some unwarranted interaction.
My friend did tell me that some of his tutors had been the most influential factor in his life. I hope you meet your share of favorite seniors too who would not only help you but guide you overall.
