Since IP university will take BTech admissions through JEE Mains, what will be the marks required for colleges like USIT, MAIT, MSIT in JEE Mains?

Sandip Pal Posted On : May 29th, 2021

The mentioned questions are among the top colleges for B.Tech in Delhi. You need to score high marks in JEE Main to get admission to any of these colleges.

  • During the year 2018 - 19, students with a minimum of 125+ marks in JEE Main got admission to colleges like DTU and NSUT in the general category.
  • Now the cut-off marks will increase, as IP colleges will now accept admissions in B.Tech courses through JEE Main score.
  • As the number of colleges will increase, the number of students appearing for JEE Main will also increase.
  • Now, the minimum marks required in JEE Main to get admission to these colleges will be around 135+.

Here is a table of minimum rank required :

College

Rank

USIT

Up to 24k

MSIT

26-55k

MAIT

24-50k

You should wait for the first round of counseling as it will give a clear idea of the minimum rank and the pattern for this year's counseling.

You should study and practice very hard for your JEE Main. Both the competition and cut-off marks will increase and you must score higher rank to easily secure a seat in your preferred branch in any of these colleges.

Having to go through reviews myself and as some of my friends studying in these colleges, I might be able to give you brief information about these institutes. Following which you can base your decision on.

VSSUT Burla –

  • VSSUT is the oldest engineering institute in Odisha with some of the best faculty.
  • The campus has a huge library.
  • Some of the alumni from this university are well placed.
  • The campus is located in a remote place.

IIIT Bhubaneswar –

  • The campus is located in the capital city.
  • It has better placements compared to other elite colleges in the city (Investment to CTC ratio wise).
  • Better in CSE/ IT/ ECE branches as compared to CET.

IGIT –

  • Some branches are good but not all of them.
  • The location of the college is a constraint.
  • The college has a decent placement record.

CET Bhubaneswar –

  • The infrastructure is not yet developed.
  • The faculty is not that good.
  • The college has a decent to average placement record.
  • The campus is located in the capital city.
  • A good place for living and more opportunities for preparation for higher studies.
Categories VSSUT Burla IIIT Bhubaneswar IGIT CET Bhubaneswar
Course Fee 2.05 lakh 4.24 lakh 1.18 lakh 2.35 lakh
Highest CTC 6-7 LPA 11 LPA 12 LPA 5-6 LPA
Average CTC 2-3 LPA 4.5 LPA 4-5 LPA 3-4 LPA
Recruiting Companies BHEL, NTPC, etc. CTS, HP, etc. JP Morgan, HCL, etc. TCS, IBM, etc.

If you want to learn core subjects then choose VSSUT. If location is your priority then choose CET or IIIT Bhubaneswar. Overall, all four colleges are good. Choose the one that satisfies your requirements.
