How is NIT Warangal when compared to DTU and NSIT for CSE?

TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : September 6th, 2023
Lives in New Delhi

NIT Warangal is far better than DTU and NSIT, especially for the CSE branch. Let us look into each factor in detail

Faculty and Placement – NIT Warangal is considered one of the leading NITs in India. They only select scholars with academic and practical knowledge. They encourage students to build industrial projects. This attracts recruiters to the campus with high salary packages. In addition, this institute is close to Bangalore, which is the city of many transcontinental businesses. This also increases the placement statistics in NIT Warangal

Fee Structure – NIT Warangal is also affordable to economically weaker sections of society. They follow a low fee structure when compared with DTU and NSIT

So you can select NIT Warangal for an advanced competitive peer group and resourceful atmosphere.

Which college one should go for Thapar University ECE or LNM-IIT Jaipur CSE ?

SG
Sudesna Ghose Posted On : August 12th, 2021
Studied at The LNM Institute of Information Technology

I have a few friends from both Thapar University and LNM-IIT Jaipur and based on the reviews I got from them, I will say LNMIIT Jaipur will be a better option. Here are the reasons why.

  • Batch Strength: The total number of students at LNMIIT is less than 600, so the competition will be less in this college.
  • Placements: The placement scenario of this college is excellent. Top companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Oyo, Uber visit the campus for placements. Samsung is a mass recruiter in this college and has offered packages of more than 13 lakhs per annum. According to the recent placement highlights the average and highest CTC offered to the students are 12 LPA and 58 LPA respectively. Students also perform well in off-campus placements.
  • Workshops: There are various kinds of workshops such as GSoC, mun, and many cultural and technical fests organized in the college.
  • Reservations: There are no reservations or state quotas for admission.
  • Coding Culture: The campus has a good coding culture.

Hence, LNMIIT is a very good place to pursue CSE, but a college is just a medium and it completely depends on how you can utilize your 4 years in the college. Your success will depend on your hard work and efforts.

Is studying CSE in MNNIT, Allahabad through the DASA scheme worth it?

NY
Nisha Yadav Posted On : April 30th, 2021
MNNIT (2016)

When computer science was first introduced in India as a course to pursue, it was launched in only two colleges namely, IIT (Kharagpur or Kanpur) and MNNIT Allahabad.

It was a five years course in the former while in the latter it was a four-year course.  Therefore it can be said that the first batch to launch in the market was from MNNIT Allahabad.

CSE in MNNIT Allahabad is the best branch among all the branches. The reason is stated below:

  • Good placement: In the placement drive 2020, 96.42% of students out of 168 eligible students got placed from the department which stood just after the IT department. The average package is the highest from the CSE department which is 18.02 lakhs per annum. The highest CTC offered was 39.002 lakhs which is the same as the ECE department and is the highest among all other departments.
  • The coding culture here is very good.
  • The faculty is quite good and friendly. Also, you will get a competitive peer group.
  • Ragging is not tolerated in the institution.

Hope it helps to get an idea about the CSE branch of the institute.

What are pros and cons of studying cse from BIT Mesra?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : August 16th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

BIT Mesra is a well-renowned institution and holds a great reputation for its CSE program. Here are the pros and cons of studying CSE at BIT Mesra-

Pros-

  1. BIT Mesra has good labs and other facilities. The Technology Block is dedicated mainly to CSE students.
  2. The CSE curriculum is interdisciplinary in nature. The syllabus of IITs is closely followed.
  3. Some hostels are newly constructed while some are a bit old. However, the hostel facility is fine. The mess food is average and the hostel fee is quite affordable.
  4. The faculty is good but you will have to put in extra effort from your side.
  5. You can approach your seniors for guidance and preparation tips. Almost all the CSE students are involved in online competitions and the competitiveness is quite high.
  6. During 2022, the average package for the CSE branch at BIT Mesra stood at INR 19.27 LPA, and the highest package stood at INR 58.33 LPA. Amdocs, BYJU’s, Cognizant, Wipro, Infosys, Daffodil Software, etc. visited the campus for placements.
  7. BIT Mesra has a reputation of its own which will aid you in getting a job at a well-known brand.

Cons-

  1. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the curriculum, studies become overwhelming at times. You may also end up giving less time to your CSE majors and coding.
  2. You might not be able to choose certain electives during the 7th and 8th semesters due to the lack of faculty available for the same.
  3. Semester exams are planned without any gaps in between and this can be immensely pressurizing.

BIT Mesra is a well-renowned institution and a CSE from there will definitely add value to your profile. However, if you get a CSE at DCE, BITS Pilani, Jadavpur University, or the top three NITs, go for these institutions.

Is ECE better than CSE in NIT Rourkela?

SM
Subhankar Mitra Posted On : August 14th, 2023
studied at National Institute of Technology, Rourkela

I am yet to understand the blind passion people possess for the CSE branch including those who have no interest in the field whatsoever. Even if you have a passion for CSE, the NIT Rourkela is certainly not the right place to bring out your abilities in this field. The placements, undoubtedly, are excellent at par with some new IITs. bit NIT Rourkela lacks in other major aspects such as

  • Highly underqualified professors. In fact, the majority of the CSE classes are conducted by teaching assistants of professors who have degrees from average engineering colleges.
  • Professors have no fixed marking criteria and students face serious issues when marks are deducted unnecessarily.
  • The curriculum is obsolete and does not meet industry standards. Students who are serious about academics have to take up MOOCs to learn additional things.

Irrespective of the branch you go for between CSE and ECE, you will witness similar job opportunities and success rates. Most students get placed in huge firms like Amazon, Microsoft, and Samsung. So, choosing the right branch in your case depends on your personal preference and interests.

MT
Mithila Guha Thakurta Posted On : August 7th, 2021

Both IET Lucknow and Banasthali are very good colleges for CSE and offer very good facilities to its students. Having to know some people studying in both these colleges, I can share some details about them which might answer your question.

  • In IET Lucknow, students get very good opportunities in terms of internships and placements.
  • A lot of companies visit the campus for placements but they select a few deserving students. Make sure you have the knowledge and skills to secure placements.
  • Banasthali is also a very good college to pursue CSE.
  • The campus is very big and the hostels are well maintained. The placement scenario is better than IET.
  • Many top companies like Microsoft, Goldman Sachs visit the campus for placement opportunities.
Categories CSE at IET Lucknow CSE at Banasthali
Course Fee 3.44 lakhs 4.01 lakhs
Highest CTC 17 LPA 24 LPA
Average CTC 6-7 LPA 12 LPA
Recruiting Companies TCS, Tech Mahindra, HP, ITC, etc. Deloitte, IBM, Cognizant, HCL, etc.

Hence, both the colleges are very good in terms of placements and college life and it depends on your preferences and requirements on which college you will choose and take admission.
