Which is better for ECE, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Techno India Salt Lake Sector V or Haldia Institute of Technology?

DP
Dhriti Pal Posted On : September 21st, 2021
Studied Computer Science at Techno India Salt Lake (2017)

All three colleges, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Techno India Salt Lake Sector V, and Haldia Institute of Technology are very popular colleges to pursue ECE. After careful consideration, I would say that Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE) is the best among the others mentioned.

  • Dayananda Sagar is now an autonomous college and there are a lot of facilities available for the students.
  • The placement opportunities available are excellent. Many reputed companies visit the campus for interviews. Being located in Bangalore, it has a location advantage.
  • Industry visits, seminars, and internships are plenty. This can be a very good opportunity to gain some work experience and knowledge.
Categories ECE at DSCE
Placement Percentage 12 lakh
Highest CTC 10-12 LPA
Average CTC 6 LPA
Recruiting Companies Wipro, TCS, Aditya Birla, Capgemini, etc.

Hence, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering is a better college than Techno India and HIT as it offers better placements and facilities to the students. Also, as the college is in Bangalore and staying there could be expensive. The living expenses and travel costs are extremely higher than usual. So prepare accordingly.

Which is best, Techno India, Salt Lake City for IT, or Haldia Institute of Technology for CSE?

CR
Chetna Rao Posted On : September 29th, 2021
Studied B.Tech Computer Science Engineering,Techno India Salt Lake (2020)

You should go for IT at Techno India, Salt Lake as it is better than Haldia Institute in all factors. Being located in an IT hub gives it a huge advantage in terms of exposure and opportunities.

The faculty members are average and highly qualified. Most importantly, the placement record at Techno India is great than Haldia. Staying in Kolkata will help you in taking coaching or internship opportunities. The academic structure for the IT branch is better here.

However, the infrastructure is much better at Haldia than Techno India. But it is still suggested to choose Techno India Salt Lake for IT. You can change your stream after 1st semester if you want to study CSE.

Is there a way to change my branch in Haldia Institute of Technology through donation?

AS
Aditya Singh Posted On : September 16th, 2021
B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering,Haldia Institute of Technology (2016)

Instead of trying to change your branch through donation, you should rather earn that place for yourself through your marks. If you have maintained a CGPA of 8.5 and above in your 1st and 2nd semester then you would be easily able to change your branch in the 3rd semester. This CGPA is a minimum criterion for switching branches.

If you are willing to change your branch to Mechanical Engineering or Civil then you would definitely have to step up your score game as there are plenty of students with a CGPA of around 8.5. One with the highest marks is generally given more preference in changing their branch at Haldia Institute of Technology.

Studied at Haldia Institute of Technology (2016)

There are very few core companies that visit the campus of Haldia Institute of Technology to recruit students enrolled in Instrumentation and Control engineering courses.

  • If you wish to get employment offers from IT companies, then the institute would allow you to sit for the selection rounds of IT firms in On-campus recruitment drives organized every year.
  • Also, there is an extremely high chance that if you are looking for job roles in core instrumentation sectors, then surely the Haldia Institute of Technology is not suitable for you.
  • You can prepare for GATE Examinations and then join one of the PSUs in India.
  • The department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering at HIT would offer you ample opportunities to work at PSUs.
Categories Instrumentation and Control Engineering at Haldia Institute of Technology
Placement Percentage 60-70%
Highest CTC 7.5 LPA
Average CTC 3.5 LPA

Which is better, computer engineering from Haldia Institute of Technology or AOT Hooghly?

SG

Studied B.Tech from Haldia Institute of Technology (2019)

AOT Hooghly is often talked about but it is very overrated. The cutoff and the closing rank are not good.

Haldia Institute, on the other hand, is a much better option. You will definitely feel a difference here. CSE is the best branch here and great opportunities are offered by the institute. There’s a 100% guarantee that most of the students will be placed without any trouble. None of the students regrets their decision to come here and study.

How is the chemical engineering branch in Haldia Institute of Technology? Should I join?

RR
Ravi Ranjan Rai Posted On : September 15th, 2021
Studied at Haldia Institute of Technology

Chemical Engineering at Haldia Institute of Technology used to be one of the best courses at the institute. But with years the condition of this branch has gotten worse. The old faculty members have retired. The current faculty base is not that great.

I have a few friends from the institute and according to them, if you are keen on exploring the field of chemistry then Haldia would not be one of your best choice institutes. But the placements here are decent. In the 2020 placements, the highest and average CTC offered was 3.5 LPA and 24 LPA.

How is the hostel facility in Haldia Institute of Technology (for boys)?

DK
Durgesh Kumar Posted On : September 22nd, 2021
Studied B.Tech Electrical Engineering, Haldia Institute of Technology (2017)

Haldia Institute of Technology is best known for its hostels among all of the state colleges in West Bengal. The best part about the hostels is that there are separate buildings year-wise and everyone literally enjoys this facility.

The food at the mess is good when compared to most of the hostels. However, it cannot match the taste with home-cooked food.

The staff and the workers of the hostels are very kind and help through any problem a student faces in the hostel property. Every student from HIT misses the experience of the hostel of this institute. Just try to be positive and enjoy your hostel life to the best of your best.

How are the internship facilities at Haldia Institute of Technology for electrical engineering?

NJ
Nikhil Jain Posted On : September 22nd, 2021
B.Tech in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Haldia Institute of Technology

You need to look for internship opportunities on your own and arrange industrial training.

There are limited branches such as ECE, CSE where the students are provided with internships and industrial training programs inside the college campus.

Electrical Engineering is more about the field jobs so most of the students select the internship outside the campus. There are industry opportunities provided by Barauni Refinery, IOCL, Begusarai. Most of the students manage their internships by themselves rather than depending on the IOCL. You can send a mail to IOCL with all the information about you.

HIT has maintained its reputation in terms of internships. It will be either from you or by default from the college HIT.

What was the CGPA of the student who grabs the highest package at Haldia Institute of Technology in chemical engineering department?

NS
Natasha Singhal Posted On : September 23rd, 2021

One of my brothers was placed in a prominent company through on-campus placement. As per his experience, CGPA isn’t required for the process of getting a good job.

He scored 9 CGPA and many of his friends scored less than him yet they were successfully placed in prominent companies. The reason behind this is that marks hardly matters when recruiters visit campus moreover, they are all focused on your knowledge and skills.

Getting a good placement is definitely a dream for all the engineers but you definitely have to brush up on your skills and knowledge before sitting for the recruitment process.

What's the scope of Production Engineering at Haldia Institute of Technology?

KK
Krunal Kumar Posted On : September 22nd, 2021
B.Tech Production and Industrial Engineering, Haldia Institute of Technology (2020)

My cousin is currently in the 2nd year of his production engineering course at Haldia Institute of Technology. Here are some things I got to know from him.

Positive aspects:

  • The faculty members of the department of production engineering at Haldia are skilled and have years of experience.
  • The curriculum for production engineering is very similar to that of mechanical engineering.
  • The students of the production engineering department are eligible to appear for the recruitment drives organized for the mechanical engineering department.
  • If you are interested in appearing for the GATE examination through PE or ME papers, It would be a good decision at least in my opinion.
  • The candidates are required to study subjects from the domain of management which offers several advantages, unlike the mechanical department.

Negative aspects:

  • You should not expect a lot about the placement scenario for core companies as most probably you would get employed by IT companies.
  • If you prepare and appear for PE GATE examinations then you only would be eligible for admission at IITs or NITs.
  • There are very few PSUs that accept candidates from production engineering.

If you don’t have an interest in Mechanical Engineering subjects and topics then I would advise you to not opt for this branch at Haldia Institute of Technology.
