Which one should I go for, IBS Mumbai or BIMTECH, Noida?

PC
Paulami Choudhary Posted On : June 11th, 2021
Studied at Birla Institute of Management Technology (2019)

Having friends at BIMTECH, I suggest you go for it. It is a better choice than IBS Mumbai. If you are in the 70-90 percentile range, then BIMTECH is actually a very good option for you. Here are some of the reasons as to why –

  • It is really good at BIMTECH with a good mix of professors. The visiting faculty are also very good.
  • The library has lots of good books and journals to follow and is one of the best things about the institute.
  • It focuses a lot on case studies which really enhances the classroom experience.
  • A lot of presentations are also expected from students which will make you overcome your stage fright.
  • Hostels are decent with good quality food in the mess.
  • The college holds a strong brand and reputation among students which attracts a diverse set of students from all across the country.

In regard to placements, BIMTECH is truly superior to IBS Mumbai. The placement highlights for the year 2020 depict the same as well –

Categories

BIMTECH Noida

IBS Mumbai

Percentage of placements

96.59%

95%

Average CTC

INR 8.13 LPA

INR 6.91 LPA

Highest CTC

INR 18 LPA (Domestic)

INR 23 LPA (International)

INR 15 LPA (Domestic)

INR 50.23 LPA (International)

The only drawback for BIMTECH Noida would be its higher fee structure as well as its high fee for the hostels which are also mandatory. Apart from that, there is nothing in which IBS Mumbai actually gets an advantage over BIMTECH Noida. Thus undoubtedly, BIMTECH Noida should be your preferred choice between the two.

AJ
Akriti Jain Posted On : September 17th, 2021
Studied at Birla Institute of Management Technology

A few of my friends graduated from BIMTECH Greater Noida and Gautam Buddha University. If you need to choose between the two, my recommendation will be to seek a PGDM program from BIMTECH. Here’s why.

  • Programs Offered: BIMTECH offers dedicated PGDM programs that are equivalent to an MBA degree. These programs include PGDM in General Management, PGDM in International Business, PGDM in Insurance Business Management, and PGDM in Retail Management.
  • Rankings: BIMTECH is way ahead in ranking with an A+ Grade Accreditation by NAAC (UGC). Gautam Buddha University on the other hand has a B+ grade Accreditation by NAAC.
  • Educational Legacy: BIMTECH has a rich educational legacy spanning over three decades. On the other hand, Gautam Buddha University was established quite recently.

Here are the recent placement highlights for both BIMTECH and Gautam Buddha University.

Parameters  BIMTECH  Gautam Buddha University
Average CTC 8 LPA 3 LPA
Highest CTC  16 LPA  11 LPA
Major recruiters  HCL, ABFRL, Havo Data Oyo, HCL, Just Dial

Which is better: BIMTECH Core or IMT N Finance?

SS
Seema Singh Posted On : May 11th, 2021
Studied at Birla Institute of Management Technology

Both the colleges are equivalently comparable. BIMTECH wins hands down owing to its location and the Birla brand value. Many of my friends have graduated from BIMTECH, they suggested BIMTECH Core because the exposure you will get at NCR will be much better than at Nagpur.

Here’s a brief comparison of both the colleges.

Parameters

BIMTECH

IMT Nagpur Finance

Total Fees

12 Lakhs

12.12 Lakhs

Placement Average

96.59%

85%

Average CTC

8.13 LPA

7.64 LPA

MBA is not about the syllabus, Its about how much you learn and get exposed to. Hence, I would recommend you speak with current students of IMT as well as BIMTECH, even try to visit both the campuses if possible, and then make a decision.

How is the BIMTECH institute related to BITS Pilani, Goa?

BS
Bhumika Singh Posted On : May 11th, 2021
BITS Pilani, Goa

Both the college you have mentioned are not directly related. There’s nothing in common besides the brand name that they carry.

Let’s talk about the institutes one by one.

BIMTECH, Greater Noida:

  • The name expands to the Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH)
  • It is located in the heart of Greater Noida.
  • It is a postgraduate business school that offers PGDM courses in various specializations

Jayashree Mohta is BIMTECH’s Chairperson & Dr. H. Chaturvedi is known to be BIMTECH’s Director

BITS Pilani, Goa:

  • BITS expands to Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani - K. K. Birla Goa Campus. BITS Pilani has around 3-4 campuses, Goa campus is one of them. Also, you would like to know that Pilani is the main college and is located in Rajasthan.
  • It is a technical and science institute for higher education that offers the best courses in B. E., M. Sc., M.E., and Doctoral Programmes

Kumar Mangalam Birla is BITS, Pilani’s Chancellor & Raghuram Gunaje is BITS, Pilani’s Director.

Both of them belong to the same BIRLA Family but were started by different people. BITS Pilani was started by St. G.D. Birla. Whereas BIMTECH was started by Late Syt. B.K. Birla (youngest son of Late G.D. Birla. Hence, both the institutes are different and offer different courses.

Which college is better for an MBA, BIMTECH, or Amity?

NS
Nikita Sharma Posted On : May 11th, 2021
Studied at BIMTECH

Well, many of my friends recommend going for BIMTECH. But honestly, none of these two are great options for an MBA.

Comparison:

  • At Amity you will find a beautiful campus and the management degree is better than the Engineering degree offered through it is a school of engineering in terms of academics and discipline. But in general, the management degree is quite average. You will get placement with an average package of 5–6 LPA which is below average for an MBA graduate. Yes, some 4–5 students manage to get a package of above 10 LPA.
  • BIMTECH has a better placement record, comparably. On average, you can expect to receive an average package of around 6–8 lakhs per annum. If you are lucky enough and have a good academic record, you can bag placement packages of around 9–10 LPA.
  • Talking about the overall exposure, Both Amity and BIMTECH have Good exposure, not as good as IIMs/XLRI or NMIMS/SP-Jain. You will find both of them have a good corporate connect where you get to attend a lot of conferences and workshops. Both colleges help you to find summer placements although, most of these placements don’t have much substance.

Parameters

BIMTECH

Amity University

Average CTC

INR 8.13 LPA

INR 14 LPA

Placement Average

96.59%

93%

Tuition Fee

12 lakhs

6.80 lakhs

If you have no other better option and you don’t want to repeat another year to prepare for CAT, only then go to these colleges.

Otherwise, Consider repeating another year and Aim for colleges like NMIMS (Mumbai), Symbiosis Pune, or XIM Bhubneshwar. These colleges are Good and the placements lie between 10–15 LPA, which is decent enough. You can even get into new IIMs with a bit of effort, if not the old ones.

What should I go for if I have two options PGDM in insurance and banking from BIMTECH or PGDM in marketing and finance from IILM Gurgaon or IILM Noida?

HK
Harpreet Kaur Posted On : September 14th, 2021
Birla Institute of Management Technology

If you want to shift abroad after your MBA or want an international experience during your MBA life, then you can definitely take admission at any average Canadian university. However, you need to take the cost of the entire program into account. On average the total cost will be around $40,000 (INR 30 lakhs) which includes expenses such as tuition fees, housing, food, and other things.

So either you need to be rich enough to afford this or you must be a good student with good academics so that you can lower your cost through scholarships. In comparison BIMTECH Greater Noida is relatively cheap with good college life, the quality of education is also good and you will get similar levels of opportunity to uncover your skills and talents. The tuition fee is given below.

  • Merit students – INR 11,50,000
  • International students – INR 12,00,000
  • Corporate-sponsored, NRI, and NRI sponsored students – INR 17,00,000

In terms of placements, it is also good. Take a look at the placement stats for the year 2020.

  • Highest domestic salary – INR 18 lakhs per annum by Amazon
  • Highest international salary – INR 23 lakhs per annum by Landmark Inc. Dubai
  • Average salary of top 100 students – INR 10.03 lakhs per annum
  • Companies visited – 100+

The campus hosts many events and other things to keep you engaged all year. If you intend to work in India I do not see any point in doing an MBA from abroad. Make an informed decision based on all things talked about here.
