I'll convert IIM Udaipur, probably Raipur and Kashipur, DBE DU as well. Which one should I take considering I am in a tight financial corridor currently and would have to take a 7 digit loan for IIMs?
All the IIMs offer great educational loans so financial problems are not a major issue here. Many banks are lined up to offer loans at very low interest to the students at the time of admission. The ROI is also great compared to DBE. Apart from that the IIM tag will also open multiple opportunities for you. IRMA is a well-established MBA institution that has been in operation for 43 years, while IIM Raipur and Rohtak are relatively newer institutions, established only 12-14 years ago. Can I crack CAT while studying in IIM Raipur?
The one-liner answer to your question is - Yes you can crack CAT while studying full-time at IIM Raipur but you should not. This is because it entirely depends on your motivation and dedication. Without that, you won’t be able to prepare for CAT well and even end up affecting your PGP score.
I know a person who was able to ace this. He prepared for CAT relentlessly alongside pursuing PGP. He worked day and night, sacrificed his sleep, and was able to get into IIM Kozhikode. But what you need to understand from this is that it was a very uncommon and rare situation. Other students of the same batch tried the same but one was able to crack CAT.
It all comes down to how serious you are about joining a better IIM. If you are confident enough to ace the CAT and not let its preparation affect your PGP scores, then we’ll do well. Go for it!
I am a graduate, will FPM at IIM Raipur have good future prospects for me? Or should I have been a postgraduate for this?

How are SIOM and SIBM B as compared to tier 4 and tier 5 IIMs like Ranchi, Raipur, Udaipur, Nagpur, Amritsar, etc.?
IIM Trichy, Ranchi, Raipur, Udaipur, Kashipur, and Rohtak are way ahead of SIOM and SIBM-B. The average package at these new IIMs is greater than INR 11 LPA whereas the lowest packages at these institutes are around INR 6.5-7.5 LPA. You will be astonished to know that the lowest package at these IIMs is almost equal to the average package at SIOM and SIBM-B.
Moreover, IIMs is in itself a brand and therefore promises better growth. This is the reason that these new IIMs despite their early establishment are at par with SIBM-Pune and SCMHRD.
What will be the TCS package while joining from LWP (leave without pay) after doing an MBA from the new IIMs (Raipur, Udaipur, Kashipur etc.) with prior experience of 29 months in the TCS?
A person joining TCS after completing an MBA from the new IIMs with a prior work experience of more than 2 years will earn around 8 - 10 LPA. The consulting roles usually offer a salary package of around 8 LPA at TCS to a B School graduate. But your prior experience and performance with TCS might also affect your package with an increase of up to 10 LPA (maximum).
Which one is better, MDI (IM) or IIM Raipur?

- Placement: Placement is a crucial deciding factor in selecting a business school. The average package offered during MDI Gurgaon placements 2022 is INR 26.2 LPA. In the placement drive of 2022, the highest CTC stood at INR 42.15 LPA, which was offered by IT/ITES companies and the average CTC stood at INR 17.73 LPA, whereas the median CTC stood at INR 16.95 LPA.

- B-School Competitions: MDI is considered to be one of the top 10 business schools in India and therefore students have ample opportunities to participate in corporate competitions. On the other hand, newer IIMs may lag in this aspect.
- Alumni Base: MDI is an established business school and has a rich alumni network. It has produced some prominent personalities and corporate leaders. IIM Raipur, on the other hand, is in its 12th year since its inception and is not yet close to the alumni network of MDI.
I have converts from IIM Trichy, Rohtak, Udaipur and Raipur. Which one is the best for a finance guy?
IIM Trichy and IIM Rohtak are superior to Udaipur and Raipur.
Because of their location, the former two IIMs have an advantage over the latter two. One is close to a prestigious engineering college, while the other is a short distance from the capital.
In the 2020 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) management school ranking, IIM Trichy was ranked 15th. Goldman Sachs offers INR 21-23 LPA; JP Morgan offers INR 21 LPA; Axis Bank offers INR 18-20 LPA, and ICICI Bank offers INR 20-22 LPA.
IIM Rohtak is also a good option for a Finance MBA. It has a favorable environment for Finance specialization. The institute has a strong faculty. The student population is competitive. You will be in classes with gifted students. The peer group is also quite diverse. There are people from various academic and cultural backgrounds present.
Are New IIMs (Trichy, Udaipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Raipur, Kashipur) good for MBA in Finance? If not suggest some B-schools. Really interested in investment banking.
Honestly speaking, a career in investment banking should not be considered by the new IIMs. It’s a too ambitious profile to match the relatively new curriculum of these IIMs. Even if you are in a top B School, you will have to remain among the top students to get placed for a front-end role. One can still get roles in corporate & business finance but getting roles in Investment Banking is rather difficult.
Yet if you are not choosing an older IIM and want to choose a newer one, IIM Trichy is the best among them. The order is
IIM Trichy > IIM Udaipur > IIM Ranchi
There are many B Schools apart from IIMs that offer great Investment Banking roles. These include SPJIMR, JBIMS Mumbai, IIFT, and XLRI.
