Talking particularly about the IT Branch, CGC Landran brings more than 200 companies for IT and CSE students. So, there is a huge opportunity for the students to grab placement offers and it completely depends on their performance of the placement procedure. The teachers of CGC Landran help the students a lot to get them prepared for the final placements. There are special pre-placement programs that help the students to brush up their skills and become placement-ready.

Students need to make sure, to sit in the placement, they must have 75+ attendance, good academics and they fulfill the companies criteria. Lately, the placement percentage of IT branches at CGC Landran was only 30%. This happened because of the ignorance of the students due to which many of them were on the debarred list and many of them were not interested in the placements. Hopefully, this information is much of your help. Thanks!

Is CGC Landran good for IT?

CM
Chandan Misra Posted On : July 15th, 2021
B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering & Electronics and Communication Engineering, CGC Landran (2019)

CGC Landran is a very popular college and it is affiliated with Punjab Technical University. The faculty of this college is average but the placements and infrastructure are very good.

Various IT companies like Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini visit the campus for recruitment and you can easily secure a job if you can maintain at least 65% in your B.Tech. If your percentage is even higher, then you can even get selected into top companies like Microsoft and Mu-sigma.

You can easily get a job in IT service by preparing for Arithmetic, Reasoning, English. Also, improve your coding skills for which the college does provide extra classes. But getting into a product-based company will be a little difficult as these companies only recruit 4-5 students who have very good knowledge of their fields.

If you are unable to get into a product-based company then start preparing for GATE, build some cool projects and receive some certifications too so that you can make your profile strong and your chances for recruitment will increase further.

Also, most of the HRs look for candidates who have qualified GATE examination, so it can be a plus point in your resume.

can I get admission in CGC Landran through PTU Counseling for CSE branch from outside Punjab of the general category? I got a 200000 rank in the JEE Mains but I got 68 percent in boards.

RJ
Rashi Jha Posted On : August 24th, 2023
B.Tech from I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University

CGC Landran is a private engineering college located in Punjab, India. The admission process for the college is conducted through JEE Main and Punjab Technical University (PTU) counseling. As per the JEE Main rank mentioned by you, it is difficult to get admission to the CSE branch in CGC Landran. However, the final decision regarding admission will depend on various factors such as the number of available seats, the number of applicants, and the cutoff score.

As per the admission rules, PTU colleges cannot admit students until the online admission is completed. Only the remaining are given admission directly. Usually, students don’t apply online. If you are adamant about PTU, go only to the PTU main campus or Guru Nanak Engg College Ludhiana.

CGC should not be given much preference as it is all about inflated figures and misleading statistics.

Yes, you can definitely enroll in CGC Landran. A friend from my school had the same doubt before applying to CGC Landran and eventually took admission with the percentile of 80 in his higher secondary exams. Undoubtedly, it was one of his great decisions because he was recruited by one of the best companies.

  • The admission is done based on PTU or is merit-based.
  • The college offers Engineering, Management, Computer Applications, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Hotel Management and Education programs.
  • The students from this campus have always been recruited by top-notch companies.
  • CGC doesn’t focus on learning new technologies as it follows the syllabus which ensures your recruitment in a good company.

Course Fee

Average CTC Offered

Hence, taking admission isn’t a bad idea if you want to get on-campus placements by proficient companies. But if you are willing to learn new technologies, it is highly recommended that you look for a different college. CGC is one of the best colleges in terms of providing on-campus placements all over North India.
