One of my friends has studied at NICMAR and here are his views. These might answer your question, but it is suggested that you do your part of the research too.

• In simple terms, the candidate gets to learn the technical aspects of construction in engineering. 
• In NICMAR, the candidate gets to learn the managerial aspect of construction.
• The candidate would not feel that the subject is too complicated even if they are fresher. 
• But the candidate might understand the same concept better if they had any prior experience in the same field.
• He should not worry if they are fresher as more than 70% of the student batch are mostly fresher. 

The candidate will get placed in a good construction firm eventually. It is important to concentrate on learning.

Regarding the rank and scholarships, it totally depends on the institute. For the 2018-20 batch the results of top rank scholarship holders were sent individually to each of them via mail, soon after the results of the first round were announced.

The results of the scholarship holders of the 2019-21 batch were only disclosed after the students joined the college, towards the close of July.

So, everything is up to the institute. In the case of the scholarship holders, the institute reimburses the fee deposited by each of them during the first trimester, after the declaration of the result.

NICMAR is a non-profit organization offering PG construction management certifications to students. It is equivalent to an MBA degree, but students earn only a certificate. It might turn out to be a drawback. 

But joining NICMAR is not risky as the majority of the batch profile are recent graduates. Placements might be difficult because of the large intake. However, if you have a solid academic record before joining, you have a high chance of getting hired by a well-known company with a decent package.

Do not compare the package and the fee to calculate the return on investment. It will be disappointing to see.

NICMAR is a reputed private institute offering MBA in construction management. There are five campuses of the institute, but the main is the Pune campus.

The placements are decent, but the return on investment is not the best. The stages are contingent on the companies visiting the institute. The recruiters are KPMG, L&T Realty, Oberoi, PwC, Samsung, CBRE, and others. Unlike others, some companies conduct group discussions (GD). In general, the following are the steps.

• The aptitude Test might be general or related to your profile. Some companies like HCC, GAMMON, and others conduct technical aptitudes. Others like PwC, KPMG, and others conduct financial aptitude.
• Group Discussion (GD).
• Extempore on the given topic.
• Personal Interviews (PI).

In the end, the companies choose any one or a combination of a few parameters. Therefore, it is impossible to unfold the actual process.

Various facilities are given at NICMAR hostels, some of which are as follows:

1. The college administration allocates single and double sharing bedrooms in the hostel.
2. You will get the rooms with wardrobe, tables, chairs, bed and LAN port.
3. There is a gym facility on the college campus.
4. The college campus is well equipped with solar water heaters, thus the candidate would not face any problem regarding the hot water for bathing and other use.
5. Sports facilities are also provided.

Without any doubt, NICMAR has many things to offer and it depends on your wish that how much you want to take. It is seen that NICMAR is good for students who want to pursue their careers in the field of construction management. There is no pressure on class assignments and other work so that you can enjoy other things as well in your leisure time.

The infrastructure, faculty, facilities are excellent but you should be self-motivated to make every penny of yours count worth it so that you get placed in excellent companies. Also, it is a very great opportunity for you to learn as there is a mixed background of freshers and experienced people. You can have many friends from different boundaries of the country and try to learn something new from every person.

Life at NICMAR Pune is quite enjoyable but you are the only one who has to decide whether you spend your 2 years on a vacation or really work hard to achieve your goal.

NICMAR Pune is the main campus of the National Institute of Construction Management and Research, out of the five campuses.

The salary packages are insignificant in the tenure of ten long years. 

If the package is INR 50 LPA after ten years, you might become satisfied. But why do you need to settle for any amount? You can gain a lot of knowledge in the institute.
