What are the pros and cons of joining Bimtech for PGDM?

NK
Nikhil Kumar Posted On : April 20th, 2021
Studied at Birla Institute of Management Technology (2019)

BIMTECH is a fairly good choice of institute to pursue a PGDM course. As my cousin has just completed his post-graduation from there, I have come up with these pros and cons after brief research and reference:

Pros:

  • Faculty: At BIMTECH, you will be taught by really good and experienced professors. You will be laden with thorough knowledge of everything you learn but it all depends on your hard work at the end.
  • Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure and facilities are great. You will get air-conditioned classrooms, projectors, good furniture, and other amenities. Hostels are also good, and the mess food is also better than other hostels of different colleges.
  • Placements: Coming to campus placements, you can grab good packages with finance companies offering an average salary of 5-7 LPA and marketing companies with up to 12 LPA.

Cons: The only con that my cousin came across is the curriculum which is being followed.

  • Although the course taught satisfies the industrial needs but it is a bit outdated with respect to recent advancements and updates.
  • Also, the pedagogy is old-fashioned, i.e, whiteboard pedagogy.
  • Even the emphasis on Practical knowledge is quite low in this college.
  •  During an internship, almost all of you will get there but the profiles are not clearly explained, and looks like you are just being pushed in a hurry to give others a chance.

Overall, it is an above-average option to pursue PGDM, there is nothing exceptional about it. If you think you are much capable, then definitely go for other reputed institutes. At the end of the day, what matters the most is your hard work and skills.

What is a better choice for an MBA, IMT Hyderabad or BIMTECH Greater Noida?

SD
Subhasmita Desh Posted On : April 10th, 2023
lives in Hyderabad, Telangana, India

If you're considering pursuing management studies at either IMT Hyderabad or BIMTECH, it's important to understand the differences between the two institutes. Here are some key points to keep in mind:

  • Brand Value: IMT Hyderabad is a part of the prestigious IMT group, which gives it an advantage in terms of brand value. However, it's worth noting that IMT Hyderabad is still a relatively new institute and its curriculum is evolving.
  • Faculty, Exposure, and Alumni Base: BIMTECH has a sizable alumni base and offers students well-rounded exposure to management studies. In terms of faculty, exposure, and alumni base, IMT-H may take a few years to reach the level of BIMTECH.
  • Campus Life: BIMTECH has a unique campus culture that focuses on students' character development and grooming, aided by structured campus life. The institute has strict dress regulations in place, as well as separate hostels for boys and girls. Additionally, a variety of extracurricular activities are organized and administered by the students.
  • Job Placement: BIMTECH assists with job placement and provides access to Management Career Fairs. The institute's Corporate Communications and Relations team also provides a thorough explanation of the highest and lowest wages provided during placement. Additionally, professionals conduct mock interviews and provide personalized assistance with resume writing. More than 300 hiring partners are available.
  • Lateral Hiring Opportunities: After the end of the internship, BIMTECH offers lateral hiring opportunities, which include positions as senior Assistant Manager, or even Manager. Students are given the opportunity to visit various companies and communicate with recruiters.
  • Salary Packages: BIMTECH has a better-than-average placement rate, with salaries ranging from almost 6 to 7 lakhs per year. However, some students receive fantastic packages worth more than ten lakhs, depending on their abilities.

In conclusion, while IMT Hyderabad has the advantage of being a part of the prestigious IMT group, BIMTECH offers students a well-rounded exposure to management studies, a unique campus culture, and a strong alumni base. Ultimately, the choice between the two institutes will depend on your personal preferences and career goals.

M. Pharm from Nirma University (2016)

Nirma University has ranked 13th for MBA by Outlook India in 2020 and it is an ‘A’ graded institution according to NAAc’s evaluation. BIMTECH Noida on the other hand has ranked 26th among the top private universities for MBA studies by Outlook India in 2020. Both the institutes have their advantages and disadvantages. Some of the factors which need to be considered while choosing one of these two institutes are discussed below.

Admission:

Those who score more than 85 percentile in the aforementioned exams, receive various financial support scholarships from the institution.

Nirma University:

  • Those who want to get into Nirma University for an MBA have to qualify for CAT which is the basic eligibility criteria for admission.

  • The average course fee is around 8 Lakh.

There are multiple scholarships that are offered by the institution to the students based on different aspects like Merit, means, and more.

Nirma University:

  • Various commerce, BFSI, hospitality, and pharma companies offer placements to the MBA students of Nirma University. Juniper, Qualcomm, ARM are some of the top recruiters.

  • The highest and the average package that is usually offered seem to remain around 24 LPA and 10 LPA.

Should I take admission in BIMTECH or try for an average Canadian university?

AB
Anushua Banerjee Posted On : September 14th, 2021
P.G.D.M Insurance & Risk Management ,Birla Institute of Management Technology (2019)

If you had chosen the BIMTECH Greater Noida PGDM core program, then it would have been a different story. However, we are talking about the PGDM – Insurance Business Management (PGDM-IBM) and the placements are not as good as the core PGDM program.

The placement statistics of BIMTECH Greater Noida are given below for the batch of 2019-21.

  • Number of recruiters visited – 129
  • Number of new recruiters – 38
  • Highest salary – INR 16 LPA
  • Average salary – INR 8.07 LPA
  • Median salary – INR 8 LPA
  • Number of students in PGDM-IBM – 60
  • Number of students who got placed in PGDM-IBM – 59
  • Average salary of PGDM-IBM students – INR 8.01 LPA

IILM may not be a better brand than BIMTECH, but the program is more important than a college brand. At IILM you can do the following specializations.

  • Finance
  • Marketing
  • Accounting
  • Organizational Behavior
  • Entrepreneurial Management
  • Technology
  • Operations, Information, and data
  • Innovation and strategy
  • Economics, International Business, and Public Policy
  • General Management

With the PGDM-IBM course, you will be restricted only to the banking and insurance sector. The course curriculum at IILM is also good and is made in line with the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Wharton Business School, and IIM Ahmedabad. Also, you will be given a mentor who will guide you throughout your first year of studies and beyond as well.

So considering all these things, you should choose IILM over PGDM-IBM at BIMTECH Greater Noida.
