What is the rank of Goa institute of mangement? Is it better than bimtech and welingkar and also PGDM BDA in GIM good choice?

SG

MBA from Goa Institute of Management (2021)

Both the colleges BIMTECH and Goa Institute of Management is decent colleges for management studies. Both the campuses are huge and offer good opportunities to students in upgrading themselves. NIRF 2021 ranked GIM 35 for PGDM/MBA.

For a PGDM BDA, GIM will be a great choice. I have a few friends from the program and they had pretty great experiences pursuing the course.

  • The course has a perfect balance of management and data analysis.
  • It is powered by SAS, the world leader in analytics. It offers a variety of courses and a 5-month long summer internship.
  • The initial batch of PGDM BDA had a 100% summer placement average, due to which the batch size was increased to 120.

If you are interested in doing a PGDM in BDA, GIM is definitely a great option.

Which institute is doing better currently (in terms of industry exposure, placements and the profiles offered) among Tapmi, KJ and GIM?

AS
Avinash Sabharwal Posted On : March 9th, 2023
Lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India (2019–present)

When it comes to choosing between KJ, TAPMI, and GIM, it's important to consider the specific specializations you're interested in. In general, KJ tends to have an edge over TAPMI and GIM in most areas, except for IT and HR. TAPMI has recently started a specialized course in HR and sees good placements in IT, making it a good option for these two specializations. However, for other specializations, KJ is often considered the top choice.

When it comes to marketing, GIM tends to be preferred over TAPMI. However, for other specializations, TAPMI tends to be a stronger option.

Overall, if you're looking for a well-rounded MBA program that offers strong placements across a variety of specializations, KJ is often the top choice. However, if you're interested in IT or HR, TAPMI may be a better fit. And if you're specifically interested in marketing, GIM may be the better option. Ultimately, the choice between these schools will depend on your specific interests, career goals, and personal preferences. It's important to thoroughly research each program and consider all of the factors before making a decision.

Which one should I choose for PGDM between GLIM, GIM, FORE, LIBA, NIBM, IFMR and IIFM, Bhopal? And why? I already have calls from GLIM, GIM, FORE and accepting calls from others also.

GLIM, GIM, FORE, and LIBA offer general MBAs. So, you can your preferred specialization during your second year. This will give you a lot of freedom in terms of choosing your industry and job profile. All of these are good options. FORE has a great industry interface. Located in Delhi/NCR, it also enjoys a locational advantage.

Your preference order for these four B-School should be - FORE=GIM>GLIM>LIBA.

NIBM is a sectoral B-School, so choose it only if you are interested in joining the banking sector. Though IIFM isn’t a sectoral B-School, it is only known for its finance specialization. It is also rated below FORE, GIM, GLIM, and LIBA.

Will good institutes like TAPMI, MDI Murshidabad, and Goa Institute of Management lose out to the baby IIMs due to their location disadvantage?

TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : June 26th, 2023
Lives in New Delhi

First, the location of a management institute is not a significant factor in its success, as evidenced by the fact that companies will go anywhere to obtain the best solutions. Second, the cut-off percentile for admission is the most critical factor that determines the quality of students admitted and, therefore, the success of an institute.

All institutes, including TAPMI, MDI Murshidabad, and Goa Institute of Management, will lose out to the baby IIMs, regardless of their location, because the baby IIMs have set their cut-off percentile at around 96%. As a result, the baby IIMs will attract uniformly intelligent students, which will build confidence among students and eventually, the corporate world. Baby IIMs will eventually catch up and be as good as older IIMs and IITs.
While students are the most important aspect of a management institute's performance, professors, research, curriculum, and infrastructure also matter. An institute's location can help attract top faculty, improve research, and provide industry networks and collaborations.

Can a student from TAPMI/BIM/GIM join in a brand manager profile?

Depending on the student's performance. Many GIM alumni work for companies like Unilever, Brittania, Godrej, etc. The same ought to apply to these different colleges too.

An institution will provide you with classes and advise you on what material you should read. The candidate is always the one who does the actual job.
