Ragging does exist at Karunya University but on an extremely small scale. There would be an optimum amount of ragging which would not exceed a certain limit. My brother is currently in the third year of his graduate program at Karunya University. During the first year of college, he faced ragging from his seniors. The ragging he faced can be considered to be healthy. The ragging also helped my brother in making connections at the university and in getting associated with several seniors that were helpful up till his third year of college.
A few of the seniors he interacted with during his first years made him sing, dance, write poems, short stories, and narrate for documentaries. These can be considered to be the negative aspect of the ragging he faced. Nevertheless, the positive aspect was that many of them assisted and guided him about not only his career but they gave him useful insights into the various stages of life.
All of this does not sound very critical, but ragging is considered a criminal offense in India and is prohibited. As per what my brother told me, a prevention cell to help out students is there at the university. If the situation becomes intolerable, you can always reach out to the prevention cell or contact the concerned authorities of the university.
I have a few friends from Karunya University and according to them, the faculties and the facilities offered at the institute are great. Overall, the institute offers decent academics.
It has a separate department for value-added education. It is good and helps students teach values and ethics. However, some of my friends complain about the department as they strictly instruct even non-Christians to attend the morning prayers.
There are a total of 11 hostels at Karunya University, precisely, 6 for the boys and 5 for the girls. Out of these, the girl's hostel is termed as the 'Living Star Campus' and the boy's hostel is termed as the 'DayStar Campus' and these hostels combined are called the 'Residences'.
In the boy's hotels, the rooms are with the occupancy of a single bed, six beds, four beds, and eight beds. The things that the hostel provides include a chair, a study table, a cupboard, and a cot. Apart from these, all other things that you need have to be brought by you.
You need to bring at least these mentioned items, a pillow, a bucket, a mug, a mattress, bedsheets, and a bedspread. Apart from these bring all the basic things that anyone would need to live on a hostel campus.
When it comes to Bioinformatics neither of these two colleges offer any advantage over the other. It would not be possible for you to get a job during on-campus recruitments with a UG degree in bioinformatics. To open up your opportunities, you would have to go for a Master’s degree.
Now coming to the location of both these institutions. Amity University is situated in the NCR region of India and you can expect to have a thrilling and fascinating city lifestyle. The campus of Karunya University is surrounded by hills from all sides. The campus would be a bit laid back and peaceful, giving you plenty of time to reflect and introspect.
Amity University is a well-known institution that everyone knows about, whereas Karunya University is barely known among the student communities of India.
According to some of my friends studying at Karunya University in Coimbatore, it is a very popular university with a great location. Here are some things you should know about the institution.
Hence, there is no quality education or better support provided to the students and neither are the faculty members well qualified and experienced. But the environment of this college is very good and the lab facilities provided are also decent.
Karunya University conducts an entrance (KEE) for B.Tech admission. For CSE, you will need a rank within 1,000. For reserved category students, the required cutoff is around 3,000. The eligibility criteria for the course is at least 60% in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized board.
The Department of Aerospace was started in Karunya University with the primary objective to produce aerospace engineers for meeting the ever-growing demand for engineers for serving the sectors that are civil aeronautical and defense-oriented. At the same time, the department also aims to employ part of its staff in the expansion of space R&D as the demand for space applications in communication, strategic applications, remote sensing, etc is increasing.
The technologists and entrepreneurs of Karunya University are in much demand by the aircraft design and manufacture as there is still a lack of a viable civilian aircraft and industry sector in the country. A large part of the business still goes out to foreign launch operations despite the presence of large communication satellites that are launched into synchronous orbits.
The experimental facilities at Karunya University have been set up not only to teach but also to evolve as tools of research and consultancy. The specifications of the facilities have been laid out with their eventual research application. You will have to perform testing and generation of data for real-life applications in aircraft, spacecraft, and rockets as opposed to cases that are idealized in the UG curriculum.
