SC
Simarpreet Chandhok Posted On : May 30th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science, Sharda University (2017)

One of my friends studies at Sharda University. And according to him, the schedule is mostly driven by the timetable as set by the departments. Some detailed descriptions of the schedules and off-days are provided below to give you a better idea.

  • The official college hours are from 8:45 AM to 4:10 PM, which again depends on the timetable.
  • On some days, you will get to go free even before 4:00 PM. But, during certain days, the classes run till 4:00 PM at full.
  • Each class is for 50 minutes, having a 5 minutes break in between two. The total duration of classes is dependent on the course and changes from one course to another.
  • Saturday and Sunday are usually off-days. But, in certain exceptions, there are extra classes on Saturdays and Sundays, which are usually very rare.
  • The overall schedule of Sharda University is quite good, with an overall 75% attendance recruitment. The attendance criteria are easily covered.

These are some of the information available about the schedule of Sharda University, which is decent for both hostellers and local students.

Is there any kind of ragging in Sharda University?

YV
Yashika Verma Posted On : June 28th, 2021
B.Tech from Sharda University (2014)

Sharda University adopts a “zero-tolerance policy” towards ragging of any form inside or outside of the campus. There is an Anti-ragging Committee to ensure that all the students on the campus are safe from such activities.

Even unofficially, there is very little to almost no ragging on the campus among the students and they generally do not indulge in such activities. But still, you will face your seniors and the initial few days may bring up situations that can escalate further if you do not handle them properly. Some of them might be –

  • Acknowledge your seniors if they make eye contact with you. At least give a nod. Otherwise, they may feel disrespectful.
  • Do not try to get involved with any local people.
  • Build your friend circle as going alone may invite the eyes of the seniors so it is better to be in groups.
  • If for some unavoidable circumstances you end up in some bad situation with a local student or any senior, try to solve the matter within yourselves and do not take the matter to the deans, professors, or the committee.

There might be some seniors who might be a little rude. But most of them are friendly and good. It is advisable to keep friendly contact with them and take their advice whenever necessary.

Therefore, it all depends on you. Along with a good personality, it is also important for students to maintain decent scores on their scorecard. The University does not fail in providing opportunities to its students. It’s up to them how they utilize it.

Should I choose Sharda University for a BTech in CSE? I belong to a lower middle class family & have only option through education loan.

AM
Anuva Maity Posted On : June 8th, 2021
B.Tech Business Development & Digital Marketing

Well, when it comes to borrowing a loan in a middle-class family most parents try to avoid it. I too belong to a middle-class family and familiar with all situations that occur in every middle-class family. If you get an average IPU college like NIEC or any such, you should go with them. It will be for you.

It doesn’t really mean that Sharda is a bad college. Go for Sharda only if it is the only option for you. You can go for GB Pant if you are ready to handle the strict discipline and rules. It is quite easy to get admission to Sharda and get good marks but, one thing you don’t like about Sharda is the management.

If you are doing B. Tech for the sake of doing something/ degree, you can get into Sharda. But, if you really want to study and go into study stuff deeply you should try GB Pant, NIET, or any other IPU college.
