What are the average marks/percentages scored by BTech students at various UPTU/AKTU colleges?

DO
Deepanshi Ojha Posted On : November 9th, 2022
B.Tech from APJ Abdul Kalam University

The average percentage scored by most BTech students at AKTU/UPTU colleges is 65-70%. This can be obtained with minimal effort as marks are literally distributed here. The internal marks depend on the student's image and not his performance.

Most of the heads of Departments are just puppets controlled by management. The faculty here is usually from a C-grade engineering college. Also, the lowest form of practice here is to earn more money through evaluation. This dishonesty on the part of the faculty produces disqualified engineers. The Centre Superintendent does not care about checking the eligibility of a faculty.

So you don’t actually need to worry about average marks because marks are awarded for free at AKTU/UPTU colleges.

How is PTU Jalandhar for a B.Tech?

MA
Madhav Aneja Posted On : August 24th, 2023
Feels good to be back here

One of my friends was admitted to PTU and does not recommend its B.tech course. The quality of education is below-average and you won't learn much from the university. The placement scenario is pathetic and more than 30% of the students remain unplaced. The highest salary package offered is 6 LPA and the top recruiters include Wipro, Tech Mahindra, HCL, etc. Students get placed in minor roles in software companies.

The infrastructure however isn't that bad and the college has decent lab facilities and a well-stocked library. The hostel facilities are also decent and the food served is good.

Unless you are satisfied with a low package below INR 10 LPA, it's better to look for a better college.

How is Assam University Silchar for a BTech as compared to AEC and NEHU?

RS
Rudrani Sengupta Posted On : October 4th, 2021
Studied Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering at Assam University

Among these three the best college will be AEC (Assam Engineering College) and here are some reasons to justify it.

  • AEC is completely an engineering college, but the other two are schools for engineering under their respective universities. AEC gets its funds from the state government and it is given solely for the purpose in the engineering field, but the other two institutes receive their funds from the central government and it gets divided among all the departments available in the university.
  • AEC is now a pioneer in the field of engineering as it has completed more than 60 years of its existence but the other two universities are very new in the field of engineering. It has also built a very strong alumni network within these 60 years of offering engineering courses.
  • As it is located in Guwahati, it has many advantages over NEHU and especially Assam University. It is located in Silchar and there are many connectivities and traveling problems due to which many companies don't visit the campus during placements. In 2020, placement drive it offered salary packages upto 10 LPA.
  • In AEC, the lab facilities available are very good and are much better in comparison to NEHU and Assam University.
  • In these 60 years of existence, AEC has established a very good reputation all over the country with its excellent academics and placements and most of the top scorers prefer to choose AEC over the other two to pursue their engineering.

Hence, if you're interested in pursuing engineering, then choosing AEC will be a very good option as this college has a very good reputation and experience in this field and offers very good facilities and placements to its students.

How is the AI and DS engineering branch in VIT Pune?

TD
Tezal Dahiya Posted On : October 13th, 2023

I won’t suggest you opt for the AI and DS branch at VIT Pune at any cost. The professors of this branch lack industrial knowledge and practicality. The placement scenario is pathetic. It’s a decent option if all you want is a degree

VIT Pune CSE branch on the other hand offers excellent job opportunities with a very promising placement scenario. So, don’t choose the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science branch at VIT Pune.

Is it better to pursue a BTech in BIT Mesra or in Thapar University, Patiala?

MA
Madhav Aneja Posted On : August 9th, 2023
Lived in Chandigarh, India

It’s better to pursue a BTech in BIT Mesra than at Thapar University owing to a number of reasons

  • BIT Mesra has no Management Quota so the quality of the crowd is much better than at Thapar University where any kind of student can get admission by just paying money.
  • Single rooms are provided for second-year boys which gives them a high level of privacy.
  • The CSE branch here is very competitive and students work hard to stay at the top.
  • BIT Mesra is well-known for its excellent coding culture and almost all CSE and IT students are involved in coding or development.
  • BIT Mesra has an excellent placement scenario and some of the top recruiters included Hashed In, Persistent Systems, Cognizant, Daffodil Software, Genpact, etc.

Ultimately, the decision is yours to make!

Which college is better in all aspects for B.Tech LNCT Bhopal or Banasthali university?

SS
Shubhra Sharma Posted On : September 15th, 2021
Studied at Banasthali University (2017)

According to some of the reviews online, LNCT is regarded as one of Bhopal's top colleges, but Banasthali is Asia's finest institute.

  • In terms of education, Banasthali is great.
  • You will find a conducive academic environment here, but you will be cut off from the rest of the world.
  • The placements are excellent at both LNCT and Banasthali.
  • Because Banasthali is a women's university, this does not imply that it is less enjoyable and more strict. Students here have a fair share of fun too.
  • Last but not least, in Banasthali, the CSE and IT departments are highly regarded in comparison to the other branches.
Categories B.Tech at Banasthali University
Course Fee 4.01 lakh
Highest CTC 12-20 LPA
Average CTC 4-6 LPA
Recruiting Companies Cisco, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, etc.

I would simply advise you to take your time and determine which branch you want to pursue before proceeding and then making any decision. LNTC’s performance is something I am not familiar with.

iMTech is an integrated course offered at IIIT Bangalore which includes a 5-year BTech+ MTech program. It is not possible to compare a 4-year BTech course with a 5-year Integrated MTech course.

  • If you want to pursue MTech after BTech, iMTech at IIIT Bangalore is a great option as you will save a whole year. However, if you don’t want to pursue BTech, you should opt for IIIT Allahabad.
  • The course curriculum and faculty at IIIT B are excellent. On the other hand, at IIITA students are quite frustrated with their faculty.

Based on the above facts and the conversation I had with some of my friends and colleagues who are pass outs from IIITB and IIITA, I would advise you to choose IIIT Bangalore with closed eyes.

Which is better between IIT Patna and Jadavpur University for an equivalent branch?

TD
Tezal Dahiya Posted On : June 22nd, 2023

I have seen many students prefer JU to new IITs because of the experience and legacy it holds in contrast to recently established IITs. None of these students regret their decision of choosing JU over IIT.

JU has the upper hand in terms of both placements and the quality of research work here. In fact, top NITs, BITS, JU, DTU, NSIT, IIITs, and such institutes are all better options than most of the newer IITs. These institutes have good credibility owing to their strong alumni network thus providing better opportunities. Those who prefer to stay on the safe side give more preference to these institutes than newer IITs.

The new IITs are expected to reach heights in the future and only then will you be able to benefit from their IIT tag. As of now, they lack credibility and opportunities.

Ultimately, it’s your call to make because you can even avail the best opportunities through minimal resources.

What happens if you fail in a subject in the final year of engineering at VTU?

AM
Argha Mitra Posted On : May 24th, 2022
BE from Visvesvaraya Technological University (2017)

If you fail in a subject in the final year of Engineering at VTU, you will get a year back. You will have to wait another year to clear the subject. You won’t get your degree until you clear all the subjects.

Attaching a video for reference to understand the process

However, the final year subjects are easier compared to the rest of the year engineering subjects. You can clear the subjects easily if you put in a little bit of effort.
