Which is the better option in CSE at NIT (Goa, Jamshedpur, Srinagar, Surat, Patna, Durgapur, or Hamirpur)?
It is suggested that among these you should get enrolled in the institution which is nearest to your hometown. And if they offer good facilities for CSE courses you can then depend on it.
As per the NIRF Rankings your preference for choosing an institution among these should be as follows:
- National Institute of Technology Durgapur
- Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat
- National Institute of Technology Goa
- National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur
- National Institute of Technology Hamirpur
- National Institute of Technology Srinagar
Considering that you choose from among the top two of the above-mentioned list. My brother went for SVNIT Surat in the year 2018 based on certain other factors involved.

Which is better: Civil NIT Trichy or CSE NIT Patna?
NIT Trichy is one of the top 10 institutions in India for Engineering, NIT Patna makes it to the 56th position in the NIRF Rankings 2023 for Engineering.
Despite this, I would suggest you go for CSE from NIT Patna. Out of my experience of meeting different people, I would suggest you choose a better course over a better institution. CSE is in demand these days, while Civil might not be a good choice placement-wise.
A friend of mine pursued his B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a top NIT. He did not land a decent job. After that, he cracked GATE and went for his M.Tech in Civil Engineering from DTU. Even after his M.Tech, he landed a package of INR 5.5 LPA.
Civil Engineers from IIT Guwahati in my friend circle started preparing for UPSC because of not getting a job.
I believe that a course tag is permanent unless you switch your stream during your Masters. Therefore, I would suggest you take CSE from NIT Patna instead of Civil from NIT Trichy.
Can I get CSE in Amrita Coimbatore with 3861 rank? I am from AP.
A rank of 3861 is not enough for getting a seat in CSE at Amrita University, Coimbatore. The points below provide a brief overview of the chances of getting a CSE seat on other campuses.
- In the Coimbatore campus of Amrita University, CSE is the department to get its seats filled first. So, there are no chances for you if you are from Andhra Pradesh.
- However, if you are very much interested in Computer Science, you can try for the Amritapuri campus.
- A rank of 3861 is somewhat close to the closing rank of CSE at the Amritapuri campus for students from other states. So, you have few chances of getting a seat at the Amritapuri campus too. But, you should apply for counseling as there are some chances left.
Therefore, it is very much clear that such a rank is not enough for CSE at Amrita University, Coimbatore, but may fetch a seat in the last rounds of counseling at the Amritapuri campus.
Which is better NSUT IT or PEC CSE for a Chandigarh student?
In terms of brand recognition and exposure, NSUT IT is better than PEC Chandigarh. Delhi offers way better exposure, due to the presence of the industry belt in the area. There are many reputed technological institutes in Delhi such as IIITD, so the learning opportunities are ample.
CSE and IT aren’t too different. The major difference between the two branches is hardware and 90% of students are more invested in software roles. If you aren’t particularly interested in the hardware section of Computer Science, choosing NSUT will be better. NSUT placements are great for IT. Students of the branch get salary packages in the range of INR 4 - 20 LPA.
Which is better CS at ITM (NCU) Gurgaon or CS at MSIT?
ITM (NCU) Gurgaon (Now The North Cap University, Gurgaon) outperforms MSIT college. Having friends studying in both these colleges, I can assure you that there are many reasons behind choosing ITM.
- They have better placement records in the CS and IT fields in recent years. Students are offered a good salary package.
- Top companies such as Wipro, Accenture, TCS, and Infosys are frequent visitors offering placements, internships and industry visits.
- They have better infrastructure facilities.
- The faculty members are well experienced and highly educated.
- A well-equipped library is provided.
- Labs with high-speed internet and cutting-edge software are also provided.

Which one is best to go with CSE at MSIT, BVP, MAIT, or at Ambedkar (fees not an issue)?
You can rank these colleges in the following order - MAIT>BVP>MSIT>Ambedkar.
Each college has its own set of pros and cons. My advice to you would be to consider the following two points mainly - Placements and Location.
Look at the placements of each college. MAIT is known for its placements but it is almost the same as most other colleges. The table below should help you out with the overall general placements at these colleges:

What would be better if I am interested in both, EE at NIT Hamirpur or CSE at IIIT Vadodara?
Before selecting among institutes, you should decide which branch to opt for. As per the question asked, you must have an interest in both EE and CSE at the two specified institutes.
The points followed will give certain guidelines, based on which you can come to a conclusion.
- CSE has a much better placement opportunity in the private sector all over India. But for electrical engineers, there is a good scope in the government sector.
- Considering the reputation of institutes, NIT Hamirpur is a much better institute than IIIT Vadodara.
- In NIT Hamirpur, the alumni base is obviously much stronger than that of IIIT Vadodara.
- The campus life too is much better in NIT H. The only disadvantage is its location with no direct access to the city. On the other hand, Vadodara is a well-established city with proper communication to other cities. But, Hamirpur is not as bad a location as Mandi, and so is somewhat accessible.
- NIT Hamirpur has one of the most beautiful campuses in India. So, the four years of engineering are very spent inside the campus of NIT H. No one regrets being on the campus by any means.
Considering the above points, it can be deduced that EE at NIT Hamirpur is a better option, having a better college reputation and good campus life.
Which is the best college for pursuing a CSE between PSIT Kanpur and GLA University Mathura?
GLA University Mathura is much better than that of PSIT Kanpur. Additionally, GLA faculty members have better training and expertise in their particular disciplines. Additionally, GLA has better lab and other facilities. Some detailed features of GLA university that distinguishes it from PSIT Kanpur are as follows:
- Courses offered: A total of 93 courses are offered at the university. GLA University courses are offered across the diploma, UG, PG and doctoral courses. In different specialisation in Arts, Commerce, Science as well as engineering.

ECE and CSE are two different departments, providing separate career opportunities. VIT Chennai and Amrita University Bangalore offer decent placement to students in these departments.
The points below give a brief overview of both the choices:
- In CSE, there are excellent package offers in institutes like Amrita and VIT, thus increasing your chance of getting a good salary at the beginning of your career.
- ECE is a stream of a kind, which has its own charm. In ECE, students grow slowly with time and earn decent salaries, provided they are passionate about the field of work.
- ECE in VIT Chennai is a great department, having a world-class infrastructure. The curriculum is at par with the industry needs. The professors at VIT Chennai are connected to the industry and other academic institutes to aid in research.
- All major electronics companies visit the campus of VIT Chennai for placement. Almost 20% of the students in the department get a package above 10 LPA in general from companies like Samsung, TI, Nutanix, etc.
- A major percentage of about 70-80% of students in ECE at VIT Chennai get a package between 5-8 LPA. Companies like Cisco, Intel, Wipro VLSI, Arista Networks offer salaries in this range. There are also some non-tech companies like Deloitte, E&Y, Bank of America, PWC, Wells Fargo, etc that recruit students from ECE.
