How is a paper evaluation done in Anna University?

RT
Rajat Tokas Posted On : December 16th, 2022
Worked at Anna University, Tamil Nadu, India

Initially, you must avoid studying with the expectation that you will automatically receive an S. This tactic might fail at times. The following are some of the key points:

  • Grading of the internal exam:

Highly unexpected. The outcome is unpredictable. You will succeed as long as you are the lecturer's favorite student. You have access to your internal answer sheets, so you can check for errors.

Lecturers can select results from any assignment, unexpected test, or presentation to evaluate their internals. Never offend your lecturer; otherwise, your chances of receiving good internal marks will be greatly reduced.

  • Practical examinations.

If you excel at practical work, you may wind up doing all the work in your group and ultimately receive an equal evaluation. In all honesty, nobody really cares how knowledgeable you are. They don't bother as long as your answer sheets, practical book, and reports satisfy their requirements. The e-assignments aren't even examined for plagiarism or other forms of cheating. They may request CDs containing your assignments or reports, but they won't even get to their systems' drives.

  • External examinations.

Some professors who excel in their fields generally receive fair evaluations. There are times when it may even seem as though the entire class received the same grade. You are never given access to the actual answer sheet, so there is no way to know for sure how they will score you.

Instead of worrying about how to get good grades, focus on mastering the subject by understanding it in a detailed manner. Although mastering every subject is immensely challenging, it is possible to be an expert in at least two or three of them. It will undoubtedly be beneficial in the long run.

Harsha Singh Posted On : December 16th, 2022
Studied at Anna University, Tamil Nadu, India

When an NRI applies for admission to Anna University, the process is different from regular counseling. During the months of April and May, the application form for NRIs, CIWCGs, and foreign nationals is available. Your physics, chemistry, and mathematics test scores from your respective board will be used to determine which course or branch you will take.

A combined average of 50% in mathematics, physics, and chemistry is the minimum requirement for eligibility. An NRI counselor is assigned to each department to look after the needs of the students, assess their academic performance, and offer suggestions for improvement.

How do we calculate Anna University's GPA and CGPA if we have arrears?

SG
Shradhha Gupta Posted On : December 3rd, 2022
B.E Electronics and Communication Engineering & Learning French, Anna University, Tamil Nadu, India

The CGPA and GPA are based solely on the subjects you have completed. If you fail seven out of eight subjects in a semester but receive an "S" on the one you did pass, for instance, you will have a GPA of 10 for that semester. Your GPA and CGPA are updated as you pass each of the courses you failed.

Ignore the subjects you failed; instead, focus on the credits for the ones you passed; multiply those credits by the grade you obtained, and continue adding the values for all the subjects you passed. Divide this figure by the total number of credits earned in the subjects you've completed. This will calculate your GPA. Because the credits for each semester are not the same, you must perform this calculation for all subjects beginning with your first semester to determine your CGPA.

What is the other state cutoff for Anna University?

MB
Mannat Baweja Posted On : December 3rd, 2022
BE in Manufacturing, College of Engineering Guindy, Tamil Nadu, India (Graduated 2016)

There are 52 seats reserved for quotas from other states. These seats are divided into four regions: north, south, east, and west.

For the reserved category, there are significant yearly variations. Because the number of seats reserved for each region is so small, the general cutoffs will change every year. You simply need to register, remain calm, and hope for the best.

You must have passed your HSC or an equivalent exam with a minimum of 50% in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry to be eligible. The pass percentage for SC/ST candidates is reduced to 40%.

Is Anna University a really good choice for other state students?

SP
Satya Prakash Posted On : December 1st, 2022
B.E. in Electronics and Computer Engineering, Anna University, Tamil Nadu, India

Other state students might face some major issues at Anna University. Some of them are:

  • Language Barrier: Almost everyone in Tamil Nadu converse in their mother tongue. So students from other states might face language issues outside the campus.

  • Climate: Chennai experiences a hot and humid climate throughout the year. The unbearable heat might be a serious issue for someone from a cooler state.

  • Food: Although Chennai offers both veg and non-vegetarian, if you are a true North Indian you will definitely miss North Indian food here.

  • Metropolitan: Life in Chennai is very fast-paced and can seem overwhelming for anyone. Also the pollution levels are high.

Whether Anna University is good for other state students actually depends on their capability to endure the above factors.

How should I tackle Anna university exams?

SK
S S Anoop Kumar Posted On : December 16th, 2022
B.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering & Learning French, Anna University, Tamil Nadu, India (Expected 2023)

Some simple tips that will help you ace Anna University exams are:

  • Most subjects require you to write the crust or key points only. Teachers don't prefer lengthy answers unless it is for theoretical papers like Environmental Engineering.

  • Unfortunately at Anna University presentation matters more than what you have written. So make sure you use different color inks and make your answer sheet look presentable.

  • Use a different color pen usually black for key points of sub-headings.

  • Supporting your theoretical answers with a well-labeled diagram will surely get you extra points.

  • For the numerical part, pay special attention to measurements and units as they check this part with extra caution.

  • Write your answers in neat handwriting as the examiners don't want to spend more than 3-4 minutes per paper checking.

  • Lastly if you want to increase your chances of clearing the paper, fill out the entire booklet.

All these tips combined with your own efforts will bear you good results.

Are placements for Anna University better than those from top NITs like Trichy or Warrangal?

SA
Sushma Arora Posted On : December 5th, 2022
Studied at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli

NIT TRICHY is the best NIT in the country, with NIT WARANGAL ranking second. These two colleges cannot be compared to Anna University.

In every way, the two NITs outperform Anna University. Students' quality, infrastructure, teaching, labs, hostels, campus life, job placements, and festivals are all important factors. Please keep in mind that job placement is not everything. It cannot be the sole criterion for selecting a college. You should consider the teaching, library, and lab infrastructure, and, most importantly, the student intake.

If you're going to live in a hostel for four years, make sure the student peer groups are on your wavelength. You should consider staying in a hostel because it will enable you to gain life experience and mature as a person.

What do you know about industrial quota seats in Anna University?

SM
Santosh Mathew Posted On : December 9th, 2022
M.E in Teaching Profession, Anna University, Tamil Nadu, India (Graduated 2013)

Industrial quota or consortium quota as it is generally called is a medium through which a student can be admitted to any of the UG courses of the university.

Anyone who has an industry can apply through this quota which is its main qualification. The process is as follows:

  • The university reviews all the applications submitted.

  • It then visits the industry and makes a report on the background of the company.

  • Based on the report the applied candidate is given a seat in the university.

Most importantly an MOU is signed between the university and the industry.

The main thing to consider is that the company should be related to the course the candidate is willing to pursue.

RS
Rohan Sethi Posted On : December 5th, 2022
ECE Undegrad.

The nativity certificate confirms that you are of Tennessee origin. The Tahsildar office usually provides this. The Anna University website provides the format.

The VAO (Village Administrative Officer), RI (Revenue Inspector), and Tahsildar must sign the nativity certificate. The VAO and RI are supposed to investigate your nativity's credibility. They need a few of the following items to complete the process.
