Are supplementary exams in IIIT Vadodara compulsory?

NS
Nandini Sengupta Posted On : July 5th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science, and Engineering, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Vadodara (2018)

Supplementary exams are not compulsory for anyone at IIIT Vadodara. Only if you fail in a particular subject or if you miss the end semester exam of a subject, then you have the option of taking it.

This is a new method of passing a subject which has been introduced by authorities in which you can give the supplementary exam in the subject which would change only your end semester exam marks. Remember that you will still need to score the overall minimum passing marks in the subject. If your combined total of marks even after the supplementary exam is lower than that, you would have to repeat the subject next year.

AS
Anubhav Sharma Posted On : July 6th, 2021
Studied at Delhi University (2019)

One of my friends graduated from IIIT Vadodara, I would suggest you go for IIIT Vadodara. Here are some reasons as to why this is my option:

  • It has a very good Coding Culture and exciting fests since the beginning.
  • Students have got a lot of success in competitions like GSOC and have many GCI Mentors as well.
  • There are the newly started Developer Students Club (DSC) and CodeChef Campus Chapter(CCC) too, and also Summer of Learning(SoL). The coding Culture here is a lot better than in many other Colleges.
  • The faculty is well qualified and highly experienced.
  • IIITV is getting better in Placements year by year with great offers.
Particulars IIIT Vadodara IIIT Una
Highest salary INR 43.5 LPA INR 30 LPA
Average salary INR 13 LPA INR 8 LPA

The only drawback at IIIT Vadodara is that there is no permanent campus, which will be built soon. Also, the 32km distance between campus and hostel is tiring.

B.Tech CSE, NIT Hamirpur (2019)

It all depends upon you, how you want to make your future and what amount of hard work you are willing to put in. I can give you some information regarding NIT Hamirpur, as my brother is a student there.

Every college has its advantages and disadvantages. The same is the case with NIT Hamirpur. Though the college is situated in a very beautiful place with a welcoming infrastructure, the environment is also very appealing but it lacks industrial exposure that is one of the major disadvantages.

Here is a brief comparison between NIT Hamirpur and IIIT Vadodara.

Institute

NIT Hamirpur

IIIT Vadodara

Course Fee

5.84 lakhs

7.83 lakhs

Highest CTC

42 LPA

43 LPA

Major recruiters

MathWorks, Amazon, ICICI Bank

So it is highly recommended that you should compare the colleges along with the desired branch and then take the appropriate decision.

Why is it compulsory to stay in the hostel at IIIT Vadodara?

AS
Ankush Singh Posted On : June 23rd, 2021
B.Tech CSE, IIIT Vadodara (2019)

If you are an undergraduate student then you must stay at the hostel. Not only in IIIT Vadodara but at any institute students stay in a hostel. If you have a guardian living in a city, then you can stay with them after informing your institute. But it is up to the institute whether they give you persimmon to live outside campus.

You need not worry about the hostel as it is well equipped with all the facilities. It is advised to live there because even if you are not living in a hostel you have to pay the hostel fees.

As these Universities are not very old, so the infrastructure is equivalent to a highly facilitated campus and mesmerizing space. Comparing the four according to these statistics, we can say IIIT-Vadodara may surpass all in a few years, but PDPU and DAIICT are not far behind. NIRMA University having larger diversity among all four is a little behind in technical courses.
