Choosing between two colleges can be a difficult decision, and it ultimately depends on various factors such as your passion to learn and attain knowledge, personal preferences, career goals, and individual circumstances.

Here are some key points to consider when comparing the B.Tech Computer Science programs at TKM College of Engineering (TKMCE) and Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT):

  • Ranking and reputation: CUSAT has been ranked higher than TKMCE in various national and international rankings, such as the NIRF ranking and the QS World University Rankings. However, it's important to note that both colleges have a good reputation in the academic community and offer quality education in the field of computer science.
  • Curriculum and course structure: Both colleges offer a comprehensive curriculum and cover core topics in computer science such as programming languages, data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and database management.
  • Faculty and teaching quality: Both colleges have experienced faculty members who are experts in their respective fields. However, the quality of teaching may vary between the two colleges, and it's important to consider factors such as the faculty-student ratio, teaching methods, and student feedback when evaluating the teaching quality.
  • Campus life and facilities: TKMCE is a private college, while CUSAT is a government-owned institution. As a result, campus life and facilities may vary between the two colleges. Factors such as hostel facilities, sports facilities, library, and extracurricular activities may play a role in your decision-making process.
  • Placements and career prospects: Both colleges have a good track record of placements in the field of computer science. However, it's important to research the placement statistics and the types of companies that visit the campus to see which college offers better career prospects for you.

Both TKMCE and CUSAT offer quality B.Tech Computer Science programs, and the decision ultimately depends on your personal preferences and career goals. It's recommended to research and compare the colleges based on the factors mentioned above and make an informed decision.

What is a good priority order for CSE among IIT Ropar, IIT Bhubaneswar, and IIT Patna?

AR
Anu Rastogi Posted On : August 13th, 2020
Studied at Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (2019)

IIT Patna should be prioritized over IIT Bhubaneswar and IIT Ropar for CSE. It is because IIT Patna has taken a great leap forward in the domain of coding culture. It provides better research facilities and opportunities for placements in reputed companies. The placement scenario at IIT Bhubaneswar is also quite good, in 2019 there was a 100% placement form CSE. However, there is a considerable shortage of faculty in IIT Bhubaneswar.

Furthermore, IIT Patna has marked its distinction in ACM ICPC (Olympics of Coding). The institute was successfully able to reach the world finals twice. This clearly illustrates the excellent coding culture at IIT Patna, which is undoubtedly unparalleled. The institute has also performed quite well in Robocon and in various IIT Tech Meets. According to 2019 placement highlights, a total of 50 students got placed from CSE with an average package of 16.76 LPA. Students from the institute have been successful in securing their place in reputed universities like Stanford University, University of New South Wales, University of Tokyo, including other eminent institutes.

On the other hand, IIT Ropar is new among IITs and its placement statistics are not as good as of the other two colleges. So, the precedence order should be IIT Patna, followed by IIT Bhubaneswar, followed by IIT Ropar. Although the NIRF ranking(for 2019) of IIT Bhubaneswar (ranked at 17) is better than IIT Patna(ranked at 22), the CSE department of IIT Patna is better than that of IIT Bhubaneswar. On the contrary, IIT Ropar lags behind with an overall NIRF ranking of 29.

Which is better, BIET Jhansi or MMM Gorakpur for CSE?

RS
Rohit Sharma Posted On : February 16th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, Bundelkhand Institute Of Engineering And Technology (2013)

The Madan Mohan Malaviya University Of Technology or MMM Gorakhpur is a better option for doing CSE than BIET Jhansi.

The Madan Mohan Malaviya University Of Technology is good for the following reasons:

  • Faculty: The faculty of MMM is better skilled and professional than BIET. While BIET has 4 permanent faculty members in their CSE department, MMM has 19 permanent faculty members in their CSE department.
  • Locality: MMM is situated at the city's center where students find all the facilities.
  • Placement: BIET has better placement than MMM Gorakhpur, Their students also actively take part in pool campus placement drives. Though recently both the colleges have poor placements.
  • Studying in BIET will help you prepare for competitive exams like Civil Services, GATE, CAT, etc.

Categories

BIET

MMM

FEES

INR 3,56,000 Lakhs

INR 2,20,400 Lakhs

Recruiters

TCS, Wipro, Adobe, Just Dial, HLS Asia, Paytm, Gemini Solutions, Amazon, Capgemini, Easy GOV, Newgen, Tech Mahindra, Informatica

TCS, Wipro, Global Logic, Prism Cement, NIIT TECHNOLOGIES, SSP Packaging Industries, Juspay Technologies, Nagarro Software Pvt

Highest Package

INR 25 LPA

INR 8 LPA

Average Package

INR 10 LPA

INR 3.36 LPA

Therefore, MMM is a better option for CSE than BIET. However, MMM lacks in placement, and the BIET CSE placement record is better than MMM. But still, other facilities of Madan Mohan Malaviya University are better than BIET, and it provides a friendly student environment.

Which is better, applied math at IIT Roorkee or CSE at any of the newer IITs like IIT Bhubaneswar or Jodhpur?

A
Admin Posted On : July 2nd, 2024

I am a second year student at IIT Roorkee. There are several reasons why choosing Applied Math at IITR over CSE at a newer IIT is a better option.

  • IIT Roorkee has a strong national and international reputation as it is one of the oldest universities. Its alumni network is extensive and well-regarded. While IIT Bhubaneswar and IIT Jodhpur are rapidly growing and improving, they still don’t have the same recognition or reputation as IIT Roorkee.
  • IIT Roorkee has a highly experienced and qualified faculty, particularly in the Mathematics Department. The exposure to high-quality teaching and mentorship can significantly enhance your academic experience.
  • The Applied Mathematics program at IIT Roorkee offers strong theoretical foundations and practical applications, preparing you for diverse career paths.
  • IIT Roorkee has a strong placement cell and a track record of excellent placement statistics across all departments. Companies value the IIT Roorkee brand, and students from Applied Mathematics often secure positions in top-tier companies, financial institutions, and reseorganizationstions.

Based on all these factors, I suggest you choose Applied Math at IIT Roorkee over CSE at IIT BBSR/Jodhpur.
