Yes, of course. Placements of both MCA and B.Tech students take place together. However, I'm not quite sure about the package information about MCA students, but you can’t expect more than 5 LPA. Popular companies like TCS recruits MCA students along with B.Tech students with around 3.4 LPA.
Here are some major facts of IET Lucknow :
Parametres | IET at Lucknow |
Tuition Fees | INR 89,775 |
Placement Percentage | 60-70% |
Highest CTC | 18-19 LPA |
Average CTC | 5-6 LPA |
A lot of reputed companies participate in their placement program. These include Microsoft, KPMG, Capgemini, Accenture, HP, Deloitte, Morgan Stanley, TCS, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, etc.
One of my friends studied at IET and his experience was really good. Thus, I have a clear idea about IET and would suggest you opt for IET because of the reasons below.
IET Lucknow is the best option for students who are really keen to invest their time in their studies. It would be better to not go for the infrastructure and physical appearance, try to understand what institute provides better education. Do your own research, and choose wisely.
IET Lucknow is better. Being a Govt. institute it charges a lower course fee. If you are planning on preparing for competitive examinations like CAT, GATE, GRE, etc. IET will be the right choice. The college schedule is flexible and leaves a lot of room for exploring other interests. Lucknow has good coaching institutes for competitive examinations. At IET, you will meet seniors who have qualified GATE, CAT, GRE, etc. They will be able to guide you regarding preparations.
I have a friend studying at IET Lucknow from the Civil branch. I will not be able to tell you about HBTI but I can guide you in the case of IET.
The following table shows the placement statistics of both institutions:
Particulars | IET (Mechanical) | HBTI (Civil) |
Placement percent | 30% | 45% |
Highest salary | INR 11 LPA | INR 9 LPA |
Average salary | INR 7 LPA | INR 7 LPA |
Top recruiters | Tata, Hero, Naini Papers | Hindalco cement, Ambuja cement, LnT |
Being from IET is also not bad, though not comparable to being from Harcourt.
Yes, you will get into IET but the branch that you get may or may not be any of the core branches such as Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Civil, CS, IT, etc.
For the rest of the non-core branches, you can get into it. And hence the final scenario will be quite clear when the rank will be revealed.
IET Lucknow is a very popular engineering institute of our country. A lot of students across the country apply for admissions in the B.Tech courses offered in this college. One of my friends studied here, and I will be sharing the information I gathered from him.
Fee | Year 1 | Year 2 | Year 3 | Year 4 | Total |
Tuition Fee | 7,000,019 | 70,000 | 70,000 | 70,000 | 7,210,019 |
Hostel Fee | 14,500 | 14,500 | 14,500 | 14,500 | 58,000 |
Other Fee | 19,775 | 14,775 | 14,775 | 14,775 | 64,100 |
Total | 7,034, 294 | 99,275 | 99,275 | 99,275 | 7,332,119 |
This is the total fees you will have to spend to pursue B.Tech in CSE from IET Lucknow. This fee is pretty decent when compared to other private colleges where you will have to spend more than 10 lakhs in the total duration of 4 years.
MMMUT Gorakhpur has a better coding culture compared to IET Lucknow. On campus, you will find many people who actively take part in competitive coding. The alumni of the institute have a good performance record in most of the competitive coding forums. If you are interested in coding, you will get guidance from your seniors.
MMMUT also offers decent facilities and resources to support and encourage the growing coding culture on campus.
ET Lucknow is an autonomous constituent college of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). It is considered one of the tier 3 engineering colleges in the state and most of the students from the institute pass out with an average salary of INR 3 – 4 lakhs per annum to work as clerks in service-based companies which cannot be termed great in any sense.
Electrical Engineering as a discipline is also very dead and there will be very few core companies who will offer jobs.
The skills demanded by the industry are not being supplied by the students and thus placements are lower. If the colleges start implementing changes and upskill their students the situation will definitely improve. But as it stands today, the placements are grim.
One of my friends pursued Civil Engineering from IET Lucknow. According to him, Civil engineering at IET Lucknow is really good. Let me share some facts I gathered from him, which might help you understand the question a bit better.
Particulars | Statistics |
Total fees | 3.44 Lakhs |
Placement percentage | 50-60% |
Highest salary | INR 8 LPA |
Average salary | INR 4.8 LPA |
Lowest salary | INR 1.8 LPA |
Top recruiters | TCS, Infosys, Analytics Quotient, Adobe, etc. |
The Civil Engineering course at IET Lucknow is good. It is suggested that you should go for it, as it will help you shape your career ahead. Civil Engineering might have a bit fewer placements than CSE or IT, but on a standard basis, it is quite a good institution.
All three are well-reputed colleges, but if you compare it with Manipal there would be a huge difference between HBTI and IET Lucknow. Having a few friends from the mentioned institutes here are some tips for you.
Statistics –
Particulars | IET Lucknow | HBTI Kanpur | MIT Manipal |
Total fees | 3.14 - 4.04 Lakhs | 5.17 Lakhs | 9.85 - 17.9 Lakhs |
Placement percent | 65% | 80% | 85% |
Highest salary | INR 30 LPA | INR 60 LPA | INR 28 LPA |
Average salary | INR 6 LPA | INR 6.5 LPA | INR 7 LPA |
Lowest salary | INR 3 LPA | INR 6 LPA | INR 3.5 LPA |
If it is very comfortable for you to afford a high amount of fees without any financial problem, then just go for Manipal, or else HBTI and IET are equally good but just that experience.
