• You have to apply via AEEE rank, JEE rank, or SAT rank.
• You will need to choose your preferred choice (branch+campus) by a specific date.
• After the mentioned deadline a trial allotment is done. You will be notified about the programs that you might be eligible for. Based on this feedback you can adjust your specified choices. This also has a deadline.
• After the revised deadline the final allotment is done in multiple phases. The number of phases is determined by the university.

PES and MAHE are in Bangalore providing stiff competition to each other in terms of placement, academics, research. According to NIRF Universities ranking 2020, MAHE stands at 8th position and PES between the rank-band 101-150. The average placement rate is 75% in all its branches for both the colleges.

Computer science and engineering is the fastest-growing field as compared to other branches of Engineering. That’s why students opting software fields as their career looks for a good college for their better future.

Admission:

• For admission into BTech courses at PES University, students need to appear for the KCET exam. The application fee is INR 1050. Eligibility is 10+2 with 0% aggregate in the science stream.

• For admission into the BTech CSE course at MAHE, students need to appear for the MET exam. The application fee is INR 600 for all courses and 1400 for selected courses. Eligibility is 10+2 with 50% aggregate in the science stream.

Faculty:

• PES has 30 professors, apart from the associate professor, Head of departments, and most of them are Ph.D. holders in their respective fields.

• MAHE has 8 assistant professors, associate professors, most of them are Ph.D. holders and alumni of IITs, NITs, and other international universities.

Course fees:

The fee structure of PES and MAHE is a bit higher as compared to rest colleges because of the facilities they provide. Scholarships are also offered to the students under various categories that include reserved categories, merit cum, financially backward students.

Placement:

• MAHE has maintained a decent placement record of placing more than 700 students in the recent placement drive. The highest package offered was INR 22 LPA. Top recruiters were Dell, Amazon, Accenture, Western Digital and most of them are software companies.

• PES has made 851 offers to students of all branches. The highest package was offered by Atlassian which is a software company. More than 50 companies visited the college in the recent placement process.

Both the colleges are a good option, if students want to pursue higher studies in the CSE branch, as both the colleges offer good academics with the help of studies. It depends on the student to work hard and get into a good college.

Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering holds 17th rank among universities in India by Times, 2020. The admissions for B. Tech CSE are based on the entrance test followed by counseling. 

Galgotias University, Noida holds 26th rank issued by Times, 2020. The admission process for B. Tech in CSE is based on the Entrance Exam (GEEE) / JEE Mains / UPSEE, followed by counseling and interview.

• The admission process is wholly online with an application fee of 1,700 INR.

Galgotias University, Noida

• Students can submit applications both offline and online.

• Companies like Black & Veatch, Bridgei2i, Bristlecone India, Cybage, Fiserv, L&T Infotech, Mphasis, Polycab Wires, TATA ELXSI, etc visit the campus for placements. 
• The average salary package offered to a student in this program is 5.1 lakhs and the highest package is up to 7 lakhs. 

Galgotias University, Noida

• Companies like Axis Bank, Ebix, HCL, HDFC Bank, Infosys, RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland), SYNTEL, Tech Mahindra, etc visit the campus every year.
• The average salary package offered is up to 6.1 lakhs and the highest package is 15 lakhs. 

The infrastructure of both universities is really well-maintained with good classrooms, spacious libraries, and labs. The hostel facilities are also very good. The faculty of the university is quite helpful and well-qualified in their particular fields.

Sharda University is a top private engineering college in North India that provides excellent learning opportunities along with a better future ahead through requisite placements in every field. It offers a B.Tech in 21 streams but the major focus would be on the computer science stream. The prominent facts regarding the course are mentioned below.

Fee Structure

The fee structure is quite affordable as per the course facilities and benefits attached to it. The 4-year program is offered at INR 7.07 Lakhs. The basic favorable point is that it accepts different tests giving a greater scope of admission to deserving candidates.

Sharda University is a good option for computer science students due to its above-average placements and infrastructural facilities. Fees can turn out to be a deterrent but scholarship provided financial assistance for the same to every extent.

The preference is always given to BITS Goa as it belongs to the most reputed family of BITS institute. One of my friends has studied there and he loves the campus from all aspects.

The major reasons as to why BITS Goa is to be preferred are:

Scope

• CSE has more job opportunities in the market as compared to other branches of engineering. 
• If you even go for a core organization in the chemical field; the highest package is not more than 6 LPA. 
• In the case of CSE, if you are into coding a good package can be cracked.
• The highest package is close to 1.40 crore in BITS Goa. The average also stands at a decent place. 
• The prominent recruiters are - ADM Argo, Adobe, Bajaj Auto, Capgemini, CGI, Cisco, DE Shaw, EXL Services, Razor Pay, Reliance Jio, Freshworks and Goldman Sachs.

Faculty

• The computer science faculty cannot be compared with chemical engineering. 
• CS faculty is amazing having well-equipped knowledge in the field to deal with real competition. They all are efficient in imparting real practical skill set to their students in a proper manner.

Campus

• Goa is a place people look out for holidays, and having a college in Goa makes it even more fascinating and attractive. 
• Certain limitations are also imposed on students. You cannot leave the campus before 5 PM and you should return back by 11 PM. 

BITS Goa makes it a better option on all fronts whether its faculty, campus, or scope. Having this outlook will help you get to a good institute. The stream can be a point of interest but other factors also matter.

BMS Institute of Technology and Management (BMSIT) is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. It is ranked 169 for BTech by NIRF 2020. It is set by BMS Educational Trust and is recognized by AICTE and NBA. They have 162 faculty members. 

Acharya Institute of Technology (AIT) is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi with a faculty strength of 300 members. The student population is 4,432 across all the departments. It is an autonomous institution recognized by UGC and AICTE.

AIT 

• 35 companies visited the campus wherein 194 students were placed.
• Some of the recruiters include Infosys, Pingala, HSBC, Byju’s, OG Healthcare, TCS, Wipro, HP, etc.
• CSE graduates can work as System Database Administrator, Computer Programmer, Engineering Support Specialist, Software Developer, Software Engineer, Lecturer or Professor, Computer Operator, Research Analyst, etc.

Facilities 

BMSIT 

• They have a student strength of more than 3206 students.
• They provide separate boys and girls hostels.
• Their food court can accomodate 200 students at a time.
• They provide transportation services and indoor and outdoor sports facilities.

AIT

• They have a student strength of 4423 students across all departments.
• Their campus area is 120 acres.
• They have 12 hostels, 5 for boys 7 for girls accommodating 1500 students all over.
• They have 1175 computers in total.
• They also provide sports, medical and library facilities.

CSE will be a better choice than Telecommunication Engineering because there is a constant demand for computer engineers in today’s rapidly growing corporate industry. CSE is the most in demand engineering course. Due to its scope and popularity it is better to choose CSE for moving your career ahead. But students interested in pursuing Telecommunication Engineering can always go for that.
