On the contrary, I feel BITS Pilani has been able to maintain its standards because of its high fees. Unlike IITs, BITS are not funded by the government so they need to charge high fees in order to improve the infrastructure and quality of campus life here. In fact, BITS Pilani is the only private institute that is almost at the same level as old IITs.
But I think BITS is behind IITs in a few aspects such as the qualifications and the research grant that the professors get. I heard of a professor getting a 50 lakh grant for conducting research. This entire amount came from the government. The reason IITs have a rich research culture is because they are constantly backed up by the government while BITS fails to receive such grants and thus charges high fees for research. Thus the high fees charged by BITS Pilani are completely justified and do not affect the BITS charm in any way.
I don’t understand why you are worrying about such petty things instead of focusing on more important things. Nevertheless, I will quench your curiosity.
In BITS Pilani, the CGPA is announced over an online system. You can also collect a Grade Card next semester when you register. Once your graduation is completed your final grade card is sent via post to your home.

A total of 109 companies visited the campus some of the major recruiters being Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Visa, Adobe, Cisco, etc.
My sister reached BITS Pilani Goa a day before the classes started and memories of that particular still stay fresh with her. She spent the entire day setting up her room and unpacking her stuff. Soon, she received her timetable and she was nervous yet very excited to attend classes at her dream college BITS Pilani.
Her first class was Engineering Graphics, which she later dreaded. The first class was accompanied by an introductory lab session and overall the class lasted for an hour. The next Math class was to be held at the Lecture Theatre(LT). Students were given time to take a break after the Math class. After a refreshing break at CCD, she had to attend her Chemistry Lab class but it took her some time to figure out its location.
Once she was done with all her classes she spent the day exploring the beauty of the campus and checking out the SAC, the library, and the shopping complex. She was in awe of the campus and very excited for her new journey ahead.
Before I comment on the comparison of BITS Pilani and IITs/NITs you should keep in mind the fact that BITSAT is more competitive than IIT-JEE in terms of the ratio of the number of students taking the exam and the number of students getting selected.
So it’s best to crack BITSAT first and then ponder on which college to go for. As for the BITS Pilani brand value in comparison to IITs and NITs, then choose the college.
If you are applying for Master’s from abroad, you will be asked the name of the institute from where you did your Bachelor's. There are only three options to choose from namely IIT, BITS Pilani, and others. This is enough to prove BITS Pilani brand value and global recognition.
First of all, your statement is false, BITS Pilani is certainly ranked by the QS World University Rankings. BITS Pilani Overall ranking by QS World University is 1001 out of 1400 colleges in International in 2023 and it was 1001 out of 5500 colleges in International in 2021.
International rankings are a repetitive process, each year taking a fresh look at institutions that deserve to be included and institutions that deserve to be displaced. Usually, Indian universities struggle in international rankings because they are extremely teaching-focused, and thus their research is either lesser in volume, international recognition and influence, or both.
Over the past few years, top private institutions in India have brought changes in this system and are becoming more qualified for inclusion in international rankings.
As an aspirant, choosing the right branch is crucial and cannot be stressed enough. Here are some factors to consider when making this decision:
BITS Pilani is a much better option to pursue BTech than DTU. Here are a few aspects I have considered before arriving at this conclusion
Considering the above factors it’s safe to say that BITS Pilani is a more lucrative option than DTU for BTech.
Around 11 students were placed in electronics this year and the package range was INR 14 - 30 LPA.
BITS Pilani has placements in 2 semesters and you can choose which one to sit for placements. Usually, students with CGPA > 8 prefer the first semester while those with CGPA > 6 and CGPA < 8 want the first semester but fail to get it.
The first semester placements for ECE are great and top companies like Intel, Qualcomm, Broadcom, SanDisk, Nvidia, Cisco, etc come for placements out of which 15-20 are core companies. So the first semester has great job profiles and packages.
Big companies like Intel, Nvidia, etc. that prefer high-scoring students don’t come for the second semester as mostly average students sit for placements. Several times companies like Broadcom and Qualcomm came for the second semester. Sometimes even core companies like Juniper Networks, Synopsys, Atrenta, LSI, and Cisco come for recruitment.
Overall, it can be concluded that the job opportunities and packages offered are better in the first semester than the second, especially for the core. To get placed in a reputed EEE core company go for the PS-II, 6 months of training program.
Doing M.Tech in data analytics from BITS Pilani, WILP manner is not a good option.
Unless your M.Tech is full-time, the industry will not give it any importance. It wouldn’t matter even if you ace your degree.
If you can afford it, pursue a degree on-campus and full-time. Unless you have adequate experience to back it up, an online degree is not considered as good as a full-time degree.
If you wish to continue in academia, WILP or executive courses are especially not recommended.WILP courses are designed for individuals to learn and work simultaneously. However, it is much better to pursue a full-time course, even in BITS Pilani.
