While VNIT Nagpur carries the NIT tag, NSUT is well-known for its CoE.
NSUT follows the updated CBCS curriculum, in which you can choose to study the subjects of your liking. More so, it scrapped off subjects like Manufacturing Processes and Machine Drawing from the CoE curriculum a few years back.
The placements for CoE and IT are especially good at NSUT. Companies regularly visit the campus with placement and internship opportunities. Moreover, the location of NSUT offers good internship and training opportunities.
You should consult some seniors from VNIT as well to get a better understanding of both the options available to you. As far as CoE at NSUT is concerned, it is a good choice in terms of both academics and placements.
The COE at NSUT can only be compared to the CSE at NIT K, T, W and MNIT, as far as placements are concerned. NSUT is a great place to develop competitive coding. Every other person at NSUT works day and night, and becomes exceptionally good at competitive coding.
A good number of NSUT students are present on CodeForces, and they are highly ranked. NSUT is highly ranked on SPOJ rankings, while VNIT Nagpur is not even present in them.
Moreover, being in Delhi allows you easy access to IITD, IIITD and DTU. This will be useful for pursuing research under a professor of your liking. You’ll also have access to the top coaching centers for CAT, IAS, GRE, GMAT and GATE while in Delhi.
Thus, I would recommend you choose NSUT Delhi COE over VNIT Nagpur CSE.
