  • VJTI is a reputable college with a big brand value. It offers more in terms of admission, faculty, overall teaching and more.
  • The affordable fee structure also gives it an advantage over SVNIT.
  • Students are provided dedicated support from the well-learned and experienced faculties which is missing in big institutes like SVNIT.
  • The placement percentage for VJTI was 95.7 % with the highest package being INR 27 LPA.

Overall, I would suggest you to go with VJTI as it offers quality education at an affordable rate from dedicated faculties. VJTI also has a strong record of placements as it calls top companies for computer engineering students every year.

BTech from Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat

SVNIT is certainly a better choice for Computer Engineering than local Mumbai colleges such as VJTI, DJ Sanghavi, and Somiya. Being an NIT, the institute offers way better exposure and placements. CSE branch bags the placements in the campus drive. During SVNIT placements 2022, the average CTC offered for CSE was INR 15.22 LPA. While the highest CTC stood around INR 44 LPA.

B.Tech from Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat (2022)

It’s been long believed that when it comes to education, name trumps substance. Many students believe that the institute they graduate from must belong to a cadre of famous establishments, despite its constant underperformance. Similarly, fresh aspirants may think that an established institute like SVNIT is obviously better than local colleges like VJTI or DJ Sanghavi—when in reality, the numbers presented by colleges like VJTI surpass the best performing years of big names like SVNIT.

Admission:

SVNIT Surat

  • 10+2 pass out with an aggregate of minimum 50% along with qualifying JEE Main scores are eligible for Bachelor’s Degree in the college.
  • For masters, students need to have a minimum of 60% B.Tech score and qualifying GATE numbers.
  • The fee structure for B.Tech 1st year is INR 1,50,000 while for M.Tech, it is INR 82,350.

VJTI, D J Sanghavi, Somaiya

  • VJTI shrinks the competition by holding a state level entrance exam: MHT- CET.
  • Local colleges have a lesser competitive edge and a higher rate of success.

Merits of choosing local colleges over SVNIT, Surat:

VJTI offers way more in terms of admission, course, faculty, and overall teaching. Its affordable fee structure stands out from the pool as well. Local colleges like VJTI and

DJ Sanghavi has come far in their journeys and is poised to offer competitive degrees at each level of education. Local colleges such as VJTI offers tremendous support to its students, which is often neglected in colleges under big branded names.

Although SVNIT beats VJTI is higher placement packages, the latter maintains a standard average placement drive with far more offers.
