Is IIIT Hyderabad better than IITs?

From an academic perspective, IIIT Hyderabad is at most, comparable to the old IITs, if not better than them. 

Academics:

• The structure of the course is exemplary. 
• The research culture of IIT Hyderabad is brilliant. 
• The professors as well as the senior students are quite knowledgeable. They actively engage in promoting the research culture and environment of the institute. 

Campus Life:

• IIT Hyderabad is relatively new if compared to the old IITs. It is also situated on a small campus. These are the reasons why this institute falls behind. 
• The institution has a small community but it has its fair share of advantages. Being a small community you will know everyone and can ask for any help. However, this also puts the institute on the backfoot for organizing college events and activities. 

That does not mean in any way that the students of IIT Hyderabad do not have fun. Overall, your time at the institute will be worth the money you invest on.
