How is the placement scenario at IIT Bhubaneswar for M.tech Power System (EE)?

The placement scenario at IIT Bhubaneswar for MTech Power System (EE) are discussed as follows:-

Under Electrical Engineering, there are two specializations namely Power System Engineering (PSE) and Power Electronics and Drive (PED). 

Power System Engineering or PSE is an old specialization with a total strength of 20. After the end of the first year, very few students left the course due to various reasons like either they get a job offer or seats in some old IIT’s.  

There are only 12 - 13 students in the batch of 2018-20 for M.Tech, out of which 12 students got placed in MNCs like L&T ECC, L&T Heavy Engineering, KEC International, and few other software companies. One can expect a salary offer of 6-9 LPA in the pure core companies and some other software companies according to their skills. 

On the other hand, Power electronics and drive or PED is a new specialization for IIT Bhubaneswar started in 2019. Since the first batch has a total number of 20, so there are no separate placement statistics for PED specialization. Few companies like Delta Electronics also visit the campus with a decent package. There are other companies being contacted in the power electronics sector.

So in my opinion, the placement scenario for MTech in power systems (EE) at IIT Bhubaneswar is pretty decent with good packages offered.
