There are two mega hostels at NIT Jamshedpur. My brother did his B.Tech from NIT Jamshedpur and he spent his first semester in the newly constructed hostel named Mega hostel K. Here are the key highlights of the hostels.
- Rooms:My brother was allotted a single occupancy room and each room is equipped with a cupboard and a separate balcony. There are 6 floors in the mega hostel. Each floor has 6 blocks and each block has 18 rooms.
- Facilities: In each block, you get sufficient bathrooms, two geysers, and a water purifier. Thus, there will be no issues related to the washroom and drinking water. For added convenience, there are 4 elevators in the hostel too.
- Leisure: You will get a common hall on each alternative floor and an open area in front of the hostel where you can sit and relax. There is also an open-air theater in the backyards of a hostel.
- Mess: Meals are provided 4 times a day ranging from both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. No matter which part of the country you come from, there won’t be any reasons to complain about the mess food!
Overall, the hostels at NIT Jamshedpur are great and you won’t be missing home much.
